Sushi lovers beware! Both times I have purchased Sushi on Half Price Sushi Wednesday, I have been sorely disappointed! There is barely any sushi in the roll and is filled with dried rice. Thank goodness I didn’t purchase at full price. Heinen’s overall quality continues to be mediocre. Not only on the sushi, but I have purchased deli items(ham salad) that was already expired in the past. Be very vigilant in checking the expiration date!

The trend of heinens decline continues. Clearly they are spending too much time focusing on stores in Chicago and downtown Cleveland to focus on the loyal suburban shoppers. Even shopping at the shaker store where it all started is not what it used to be. The stores further in the burbs are sometimes a little better — but because of their central distribution strategy, much of everything that is prepared, or the meat and fish is exactly the same. The butcher /meat selection at the shaker and s. green store is pretty close to horrible — a recent visit on a Saturday morning in the summer yielded me leaving because they did not have any steaks(I mean ANY) that were cut over a half inch thick. Either they are realizing that their market is changing as the people with money go to whole foods, or they just don’t care anymore and are focusing on their pre-made foods — which are pretty gross. In this case I would rather give my money to the publicly traded company vs the local business.

I am a fan of Heinen’s stores because they have great quality and usually have great customer service as well. This Heinen’s has a great wine selection, and hosts sampling events as well. I have no complaints, and there are many good values each week.

It took me five years of driving past Heinen’s in Middleburg Heights before I finally gave in and I wish it hadn’t taken this long. Everyone was super nice, and although the meat prices were a bit high, they had some great sales going on in other departments so it pretty much balanced out. I LOVE the«no carts in the parking lot» policy! The man who helped me load my groceries was friendly despite the nasty freezing rain. I’d much rather give a local grocery store my money than Giant Eagle.

It’s hard to say anything bad about these folks. They don’t stock everything I want, but that’s OK. It’s easy to get in, get my weekly shopping done, find what I need for decent prices and stick to my budget here. The place is clean, the workers are competent and helpful, and it’s close to my house.

Love to shop at Heinens — and this location is nice and convenient. Plus, there’s a lot of other great shopping at Shaker Towne Center, where this Heinens is located. This grocery has nice fresh, hot soup selections daily, a fresh and plentiful salad bar, a very nice selection of fresh meats, a small, but very nice fresh fish and specialty cut meat, chicken and other nifty prepackaged, ready-to-pop-in-the-oven selections area, lovely produce and a small, but adequate bakery. The store is clean, always well-stocked and the service is pretty good. I give it «three yums up.»

I’m not a grocery store loyalist in any way. When you compare your standard chain grocery store, 90% of the products are the same no matter where you shop(Dave’s, Heinen’s, Giant Eagle). I’ll shop where it’s most convenient and depending on where I am while running errands, it changes from week to week. I do find myself in this particular Heinen’s a fair amount of the time and imo this Heinen’s is the most expensive of the bunch(hence the two star rating). Product-wise, there’s nothing here besides the Two Brother’s brand that I can’t find anywhere else. As a chain, I like Heinen’s. But if you’re going to go to one, choose one of the others – you’ll probably save yourself some money.

This is a solid grocery store. It’s not the nicest or cleanest Heinen’s I’ve ever been to, but it’s certainly not gross or uncomfortable in the least. They don’t have a massive variety, but if I ever need to pick up a couple quick things and it’s on my way, I’ll stop here. The employees are always friendly, which is definitely a plus!

This place has most everything you need for a grocery store. The food is fresh, and the people are friendly. They really support community allowing fundraisers, and supporting fundraisers in other ways. They are a little pricey, so it’s not my number one place to shop, but they have a lot of good health products that makes it worth my while monthly.

These negative reviews crack me up. This is a neighborhood grocery store, and a great one. Fresh produce, fresh meat, fresh seafood, great wine and beer selection, etc., etc., etc. It’s small, but that’s just a by-product of the shopping center in which it’s located. This is a killer little store, and we get fantastic service there(live in the Fernway neighborhood). If you have any questions about whether or not this is a great store, just pay a visit and look at the crowds. People vote with dollars.

Wow, TERRIBLE customer service. My friend was in a regular line that was being held up by a customer who forgot something. The regular line’s cashier apologized and told my friend, who had 16 items, to go to the next line, an empty express(12 or less) line. When my friend moved her things to the express line, that’s line’s cashier(Tonie, according to the receipt) literally raised her voice to my friend, yelled at her, and told her to apologize to the people who had just gotten behind her — because she was over 12 items. That’s right. My friend got straight-up yelled at by a cashier because she had done something ANOTHEREMPLOYEESTANDINGRIGHTNEXTTOTHEMTOLDTHEMTODO. Talk about lack of respect. If I could rate them zero stars, I would.

Not a bad place to have next door — a little pricey, but good selections of wine, cheese, meats, produce, and snacks. A lot of organics. The bath and grooming selection is a little spare. Service is moderately friendly, though I had a couple unfriendly interactions. Clientele is impressively mixed.
