just called this place and tried to order delivery(sunday sept 27th1:45 pm). phone rings 10x’s and then finally a pissy guy that sounds like he needs his mommy finally answers rudely. when i tell him i want to place an order for delivery he rudely tells me they don’t deliver(even tho Unilocal and foursquare say they do). i think a better name for this place would be «taco dicko». ha p. s. there website was down too

Staff is friendly. Taco’s are amazing and affordable. Chips & Salsa while you wait is a nice little touch(more on the salsa later). Chicago sports team theme throughout. Salsa used to be one of my favorite reasons to stop at Taco Loco, but some time in the past year they went inferno on the hot salsa, and now its almost impossible to eat, in fact, can only be mildly consumed with a 50⁄50 Hot/Mild combo… it’s a 5 rating as soon as they get the salsa figured out.

I drive all the way from Orono to get a REAL taco here. Corn tortilla. Perfectly seasoned and grilled steak. Onion. Cilantro. It’s like I’m «back home»… sweet home Chicago! I have searched the twin cites for Tacos like this and now that I found them I’ll drive to get them! Go Bears, Hawks, Bulls and Cubs!(sorry Sox don’t make the list… I don’t follow minor league ball.)

Worst Mexican place I’ve ever been to. My boyfriend and I use to go here for the cheap tacos, however after our last experience I would rather go to Taco Bell and risk it. We ordered our tacos along with a quesadilla and when I took a bite out of the quesadilla, you could tell the chicken came from a can. It was gross and I would never come back here again.

This place is my new favorite spot to get authentic Mexican food in the Twin Cities! They have all my favorites from enchiladas to burritos, tacos to sopes, and so much more! If you like spicy salsa you won’t be let down by coming here either. The ambience and décor is as unique as it is appealing! They have created a truly genuine vibe that enhances a traditional Mexican feel with vibrant regional appeal. For any die hard MN sports fans, you may not appreciate their loyalty to Chicago sports– but don’t let that dissuade you from experiencing their unbelievable spread of food! The service is on-point and friendly, the food leaves you wanting more, and the atmosphere is as legit as they come. Moral of the story: if you want some REAL, delicious Mexican food, then you need to visit Taco Loco!

Not sure where to start. We booked Taco Loco catering services for a birthday event(200 people). From the day I contacted them, up until the minute before they arrived at the event, they were fast in correspondence and dealt with the 800 changes I kept making. When they arrived, they had a staff of about 10 people, who had every set up and running in 15 minutes. It was like a factory running well oiled and in sync. I love Taco Loco’s food, but figured when you take it away from the restaurant you will lose a slight bit of the quality. WRONG!!! They actually COOK in front of you, and everything comes out just as perfect as at the restaurant! I took one bite and was BLOWN away. Unfortunately, our outdoor party had a rain storm sweep through. People stood in a line and bared the torrential downpour, just so they could get their food. I walked out to the entire party to check and see how they were enjoying it, and first time Taco Loco people were absolutely satisfied. I had so many people ask for their contact information and plan to use them as well. I know FOR A FACT, I will most definitely be using their services again. The food was amazing and spoke for itself, but the service just knocked it out of the ballpark. It was a grand slam, and I cant thank them enough! Thank you to the Taco Loco Family, you made everything perfect and I am more than grateful!

Filthy… Less than zero flavor… Bring your own wash rag to clean the tables, over ½ the tables were dirty and empty. Don’t sit by a window where kids have smeared prints all over the glass. Got the 5 tacos for $ 6. Meat was just ground burger, three tiny little tomatoes sprinkled on top one clump of sour cream in the middle and yesterday’s lettuce, what cheese? The taco was less than ½ full. Taco bell does it better… Trophy wife got Tex Mex taco. Stuff with potatoes and rice and nacho cheese. They had less flavor than the tacos and we are still trying to figure out how it could be less flavor than the tacos. I’d just avoid, I love Mexican food and there are tons of great choices.

Very Unimpressed The several times I’ve been there I have been let down even more. These guys have no idea how to run a restaurant. I never want to feel intimidated or bullied by the staff of a restaurant while ordering, there for they will not receive my business. –food is crap –service is even worse –bad tempered staff who don’t get an order right(I ordered to go and they brought in out in house style, when I informed them i had ordered to go… Of course its my fault)

Excellent tacos, excellent burritos, mind blowingly good HOT salsa. Little pricey, but I don’t mind so much.

This place has good food. Authentic and reasonably priced. Sometimes I think it may be on the smaller portion only because I have a big appetite but it always is the perfect amount and then some. The chips and salsa are nothing we’ve ever had before. It’s spicy just the way I like it. It is not your regular kind of salsa. I always get the barbocoa tacos as do my wife now. My wife used to get the chicken chimichanga all the time which she says is really good. Their chili is super spicy. Spicy enough that we couldn’t even finish it. What’s nice is that you order at the counter and then they bring you the food. The food is great and I definitely recommend coming here even though it’s quite the drive for us. We usually make it out once in a blue moon. But this place is the place to go. Plus they have punch cards.

The place is a fun destination but maybe a little over priced which is why the three stars. I will pay for organic or super unique, but this is just fresh mexican. The food is good and fresh and happy hour offers a different option every night. They deliver to boats who dock at the city docks in excelsior in the summer. Sit at the bar at sunset and get a free shot that you do as a group shot every night. Guess that’s why you have to pay for the chips and salsa(which are really good)

#5 with onions and an orange Jaritos please! I have yet to have anything I didn’t like from this place. From the carnitas tacos to the home made hot sauce. I don’t live in town anymore but I still make special trips to get my fix. Come get some!

Yummy and authentic. Free chips with your order is a nice touch. Spicy pork is excellent(but definitely spicy!), burrito suizo is tasty. Good sides, all well done. Decent prices too.

With all those rave reviews, I had to try the taco plate at Taco Loco, Shakopee. I tried many authentic Mexican tacos while I was in California, and I know how they should taste like. As I sat down, they served me a small bowl of tortilla chips with salsa. The tortilla chips were not tasty at all; it’s the cheapest kind that you can find in the grocery store and the salsa tasted like it’s out of a can, not hand-made. The main dish consisted of two tacos(the picture on the menu have three with description saying«two tacos») with Spanish rice and re-fried beans. Right off the bat, the re-fried beans were smelly. I tried a lot of re-fried beans, but it was the one of the worst that I tried. Spanish rice were ok; I would give it three stars if I was only going to eat the rice. The highlight… the Steak Tacos… these smelled bad. The beef they used were probably the cheapest kind of beef. Also, the portion was so small, I was still hungry after I finished. If they are going to serve mediocre food, the least they could do is to serve out enough portion imo. I spent more than $ 8 including a bottle of Jarritos and felt like I was robbed. I would never go back there again. Taco bell is much better choice than this place.

Family loves this joint! Tostadas were new for littlest son(9) and he said Awesome and scrumptious! I had a taco salad minus the shell which was great. Meat was tasty and salsas are excellent. Wife had steak fajitas and were equally awesome. Good cheese dip. Chips are good. Salsa is spicy and delicious.

This place has some delicious pastor and the pork is pretty tasty too. We also had a beef taco, but like most beef taco’s, there usually isn’t a lot of flavor. Don’t get me wrong, it was still good and the taco was devoured. This is also the place where we had a chance to try Lengua. What’s that you ask? It’s beef tongue! Like most things this exotic, texture and what it actually is plays with your mind. For me, I just dug right in, never though about it and it was actually pretty darn good. For my wife, she had to get past the mind thing, but she too though it was pretty good.

Added to the list of places to hit while biking, 4 stars or higher and this one fits! I have heard about the place from a bunch of different places over the last few years(although none of them as trustworthy as my Unilocal Friends) and have been meaning to make the drive. We’ll this turns out to be right on the trail that runs along the Minnesota River Valley. Great path to ride on and great place to stop to refuel. My day of biking CAN include some tacos and a beer, we sat out on the small patio and enjoyed them immensely. The tacos and burrito were super fresh tasting and not super filling. By not super filling I mean it wasn’t filled with rice and lettuce to stretch the shell and make them look huge but they were filled with very fresh tasting meat and fresh vegetables. Made after we ordered and well worth the short wait for the food. I highly recommend the trail for a great ride on a sunny day and insist you stop here and enjoy some fantastic, fresh and very authentic Mexican food to make the trip complete. KT,

I stopped in at Taco Loco after a trip to Valleyfair last season. It’s OK Mexican food. I just forgot I don’t like beans. How did I forget that? I don’t know… sunstroke? I got my food to go but I am guessing eating there is a better experience. They give you chips and salsa while you wait for your food but you better eat them while you wait because they are not to go friendly at all. So if you’re in Shakopee, it’s an option. If you’re in the city try something like Pineda tacos.

Yo, I know one of the owners, Noe Mendez, since like the late 1990s. Noe and his family fo sho HOLDSITDOWNFORMEXICANS. He opened up this joint in 2004⁄2005 and it has been legit since the get. Every summer they got hydraulic and eating contests yo. Everyone is Mexican, freal! Also, I would like to claim and remind Taco Loco that I ate the very first Super Burrito in the summer of 2005 in 2 minutes and 17 seconds. It was that good! LOL!!! This is verified by Noe and former employee, Jake Lundberg. But back to the food, this is some real Mexican-ish with real flava and taste! If you don’t like the food, you a sucka and a trick. Go and eat that whack garbage cause you don’t know what’s real! Support and eat from the real Mexicans holding it down on the Southside of the Twin Cities. ~Viet. dude P. S. One of the only joints I know servin’ Sopapillas. You don’t know what that is? EXACTLY fool.
