Meh, just an average experience here. Good scenery off the golf course for this flagship restaurant of the lightly-distributed Shawneecraft beers. Good service and ambiance, but the food was just okay. Started with the pretzel and crab dip, definitely tasty. We had the cheesesteak others rave about, the menu called it «prime rib» but it was undistinguished chop steak when it arrived at our table. Similarly the«house slow cooked turkey» on the Reuben was little more than cold cuts. Not bad sandwiches by any means, but nothing to write home about. The beers they brew here are the real deal for sure, but the $ 6.50 price tag on their signature Session Porter was steep considering we we’re getting it right from the source. Same can be said of the $ 29 growler tag.

Our party had 6 adults and 4 kids today for some lunch. According to the locals, this place is usually packed but we were probably the first diners of the day around noon time. The lunch menu had some good options, good looking appetizers and a bunch of sandwiches. Our waiter, Cody, whom by the way should be employee of the month(you’re welcome buddy!), was awesome. He was on top of the refills, courteous, knowledgable and just an easy dude to talk to. Our appetizer was their pulled chicken nachos. These were great! Doused in cheese and a good amount of chicken, the flavors were exceptional. My wife ordered their version of a cheesesteak which was made from prime rib and their homemade beer cheese sauce. It was a solid attempt at a Philly classic. I had their burger with the surf and turf topper which is basically lump crab meat in a good sauce on top of the burger. Shawnee brewery is underneath the restaurant so the locally crafted beer was a perfect topping to a solid meal! 4 Garys if you’re up here visiting the mountains

Awesome place to go with friends or a family! I had the cheddar ale cheesesteak sandwich and it was delicious! The owner came up to our table and made sure we were doing well and made us feel like we were right at home!

The food and beer here is so so. We had an IPA and a wheat beer which were lack luster and the food was the same. We tried the chicken salad which was ok, but too saucy, the pulled pork sandwich was overcooked and needing more flavor and the flatbread was made on good dough, but the toppings didn’t really work together although they sounded good(sausage, cheese and apple).

After reading some of the other reviews I was a little nervous to try this place, but we gave it a shot anyway. I made reservations for Saturday evening. When we arrived I gave them my name and they asked me for the last 4 digits of the phone number I left when I made the reservations(this seems a little silly considering the type of place it is… I don’t suspect people are stealing reservations left and right… but anyway…) we started off with a few beers(a wheat beer that I forget the name of and the double pale) the beers were surprisingly very good… more flavor than I expected and I like that they offer most of the beers in 3 different sizes so that you can sample.(Although the beer was good, I don’t really think the growler fills prices of ~25 and $ 22 to refill are worth it… we don’t pay that much anywhere for growler refills…) We had hot wings as an appetizer– very good, very big, and just the right amount of spicy. The sauce was not the generic franks hot with some butter which was a nice change. I do not use ranch or blue cheese, but I am told both were home made and quite tasty. We ordered the cheesesteak sandwich and the sausage sandwich for dinner. Both were good and GIGANTIC. The waitstaff was very friendly and pretty fast. We will probably return when the weather warms up so we can try out the outdoor seating, it looked really nice.

Wanted to love it, and there’s a potential for, if not greatness, then at least better food. I’m a fan of ShawneeCraft beer, and always have a few bottles and cans in the fridge at home. It’s a lovely setting, and the view is five stars over the Shawnee Inn grounds and the restaurant itself is well done and rustic. I would love to want to come back here. But the food is just average. Good service and friendly staff.

My wife and I have just made our second visit here after an almost 9 mile hike on Mt. Minsi. We were tired, dehydrated and hungry. We sat at the bar downstairs. The bartender wasn’t pushy. She got us water right away and kept the glasses full as we took our time pondering which beers to sample first and what to eat. The beers were great, service on the food was pretty quick and food was quite good. Craft beer by the glass was reasonably priced. However, pricing for growler refills was a little high for my liking. We would have filled a growler to go but couldn’t see spending $ 28. Other than the growler pricing, this is a great little place. We’ll be back.

Just popped in for a drink. Good service. We were able to sit outside on a crisp fall evening. The Makers Mark was very good and the local brewed Imperial Porter was stellar!

Nice big place. Nice view of the Pocono mountains. They have a nice big outside deck as well. The service was great but the FOOOOOOOD! Outstanding! The wings were nicely well done. I like my wings with a little bit of crunch. Carolina BBQ sauce was good and so was the pineapple rum. Mom ordered the Trout with almonds. Really good Dad ordered a burger which he said was 1 of the best burgers he had in a long time. Fries were really good. Bro ordered the chuck steak salad which he said was the best salad ever. I ordered a filet mignon with garlic butter and whipped potatoes. Excellent! For beer i had their delicious imperial porter. We also ordered dessert. Bro, mom and dad split a Peach cobbler with vanilla ice cream. It was soooo good. I had a key lime pie and that was also great! even the coffee was good! This will definately be my go to restaurant whenever i visit my parents. Awesome!

We waited until the end of our week to enjoy this restaurant and my daughters birthday. It was utterly disappointing. The service was very S– L-O– W. The waiter was nice but very forgetful. We had to remind him too many times to bring a drink or our bread. We waited way too long for drinks, appetizers, bread and dinner. When the food actually arrived it was tasty. The reason for the low stars was because of management, or rather lack of it. When we commented on the long wait the manager came out and kinda apologized then asked what he could do. When we suggested to comp a dessert he said no and walked away. Very condescending to us and we were all left confused. It just ruined the evening and birthday dinner. In the end he made it right and brought out a birthday brownie and ice cream. BUT a seasoned and experienced manager should have known how to handle this situation much better. Please learn from this in future. Not sure I’ll come back on my next visit.

I have been to the Gem and Keystone multiple times and have never really enjoyed it. But today was way different we were greeted as soon as we walked in and our server was excellent. Nick walked over and seemed to be happy to be working. He offered us the best mojitos that I have ever had(I’m a bartender and know what I’m making.) We were both set on just ordering a single app to share but nick convinced us to get the pretzels, a Caesar salad, and pulled pork sandwich. We ate everything on our plates ! Nick helped change our minds about this restaurant and because of him we will be returning in the near future!

This place has become a nice standard lunch when I don’t feel like cooking in the bungalow. They have nice pub food(good chips) and the beer is coming from nearby Shawnee brewery. They are a fairly large space, with indoor and outdoor seating. When I was there last year they were a bit busy and service was slow but this year I stopped in before 4th of July rush and it was fine. It’s a nice option in the area, I’m sure I will be back.

The beer was great and the patio atmosphere really added to the experience. We were expecting 10 guests and arrived with everything setup including waters for our guests… however, they couldn’t make it at the last minute and only 4 of us dined. We felt bad but they accommodated and continued to provide us great service. The fish and chips were delicious overall, although maybe a TAD too much on the greasy breading… but still, very good. I’d recommend to anyone in the area.

Dining Date January 30, 2015 for dinner. The dinner specials were outstanding! The sirloin and crab cake was delicious. The appetizers were OK, with the winner being the cheese-beer dip served with the soft pretzels. The menu choices were a bit thin, but the specials were definitely a treat. Our server was pretty good until her section got busy, then there was some wait time. Overall we enjoyed our meals. The beers from the brewery were excellent. Try the Apiarius honey beer for something unique. Avoid the black IPA.

Had a great dinner here! They have a great selection of craft beers. Definitely try a sampler if you can! For the IPA lover, there was a double, triple, and black IPA. For everyone else, there’s plenty to enjoy. My fave was the Apiarius honey beer. Usually no bottles of their own beer, but you can get a growler to go or a 6 pack of something else(bud, rolling rock, etc). The menu had tons of options, including a daily special. My fiancé enjoyed his burger and fries. He said the meat was cooked perfectly. My chicken sandwich and side salad were great. We split nachos for an app and they were good, but the cheese wasn’t melted enough. It kind of came off in one big glob. But the shredded chicken was tasty and the portion was huge. I’d definitely go back!
