Not a terrible place to play volleyball at. Multiple courts so a lot of games going on at once. Thursday night leagues are around $ 45 a session, which is average for sand volleyball in other areas. They have intercoms on the courts so you can order drink/food without walking up to the bar area. The servers bring the items too you. They serve liquor and beer. Lot’s of fried food options available. At night, the lights blind you as you try to play-especially if you are a hitter. They allow smoking(ICK) just because it’s open air does not mean it does not cause second hand smoke. There is a wash area, the water pressure sucks and there is only 2 areas for some 15 courts. I am sure a man designed that-not well thought out.

Great place to spend an evening with friends! Drinks are reasonable, lots of space to play, and the staff is friendly & quick.

We have been coming to this place every week for about four years. We recently started playing two sessions a night. We loved it when Andrea and Scott were there. It was great they knew our names, knew what we wanted to drink and places the team appropriately according to records in the past which made for better competition. But this year was new management and it is a total wash. They don’t care about their customers at all. They literally try to kick us off the courts before we finished our games. Last night they turned off the light before we finished. When the opposite team went in to get the lights back on. The GM(yes, the GM) decided that it was too much of a hassle to turn the lights back on and offered to give the opposite team the 3 – 0 win. I mean my teammate and I spend 300 $+ more here every year each, we pay to play volleyball and for him to want to cheat us out really speaks out to his character. Thankfully the opposite team denied that and demanded the lights back on but luckily some people on another court were kind enough to let us use the ones they were playing in so we could finish our game. Also the young servers pretty told us and another team to take our business else where. I understand because we were discussing going elsewhere for the spring because it’s just not working out here at smbv. But regardless that is now how business should be ran. This is a recent review. I realize the other review are from years ago when Scott and Andrea were there but now it’s really like they don’t care about the players at all.

I completely agree with Beatrice L.‘s comments. We have not had good service or been happy with the management here. First, DON’T TURNOFFTHELIGHTSIFPEOPLEPAYYOU $ 45 A PERSON and are STILLPLAYING!!! We have had several servers get our order then disappear for the remainder of the night. We have also had nights where it seems that all the servers have left and you can’t find anyone to help you. We’ve been bumped up to intermediate 6-person team(we signed up for recreation with a 4-person team) without being told. We had to change around our team and times we played so we could get recreation because we were frustrated on the level of skill other teams had. Food is sub par, I’ve never gotten anything that’s tasty. It’s all just soaked in grease. There are maybe 1 – 2 good servers that we’ve been happy with, but most of them just get an attitude if you try to get their attention or if you ask them anything.

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years to watch my friends play on a coed team. This year was actually my first year to be a part of their team. It has been an awesome season and unfortunately it does have to close during the winter, so I look forward to next season. Who doesn’t love to get down and dirty in the sand. I’ve even had some of their food, and it’s just like bar food but it’s pretty good. I really like the chicken strips.

We have been regular league players here for about 4 – 5 years and I must say it is nice to spend time playing v-ball with my wife and friends. That being said, I think the the facility is okay and the staff is pretty nice and polite but the prices they charge are a little pricey. Another issue I have is that they do not provide t-shirts or anything if you win a league which I think is a bit ridiculous if you are spending the kind of money they charge. I am sure I can go somewhere else but this place is close and convenient. Overall I like the place and the staff it is just the prices they charge.

The booze is reasonably priced, the food is basic bar fare and honestly we don’t eat here if we have a choice. We come for the volleyball, it’s the only spot for it in our part of the city. The league is pretty well run if you don’t count the times when they shove rec and intermediate teams together without warning anybody. Oh, but that happens all of the time. They did make sure to saturate the sand with water last week when we were having those record temps, so there’s that.

I only acted as a sub here once as my friend was injured but it made me wish that there was a place like this near me. The bar had reasonably priced drinks and the fact that we could take them out onto the courts was great! There was no shortage of courts and each was well maintained. There was a picnic table or two at each court for anyone who was watching to sit at. It seemed well run and I only wish that I could have spent some more time there.
