I stayed in Sheboygan tonight on business. The only hotel available was the holiday inn express Sheboygan/Kohler. I usually stay at Hilton properties whenever possible. I was pleasantly surprised to find that this hotel has been recently renovated and is very nice. They have a managers reception at night with wine beer cocktails and appetizers. The hotel staff is very nice and attentive, I would stay here again. The room was very clean and has been redone very nicely. If you’re ever in the Sheboygan area and looking for a place to stay close off the highway I would recommend the holiday inn express.

Nice for a holiday inn and best hotel option out this way. The heater in the room was so loud it woke me up every time it came on. Pillows are either too big or too small. The smoke detector flashed so bright it kept distracting me as I was trying to fell asleep. Ok breakfast options.

We enjoyed our stay! Everything was clean. Pool was a nice size. There was never anyone at the front desk but luckily we never needed anything. Breakfast surprising had great biscuits with turkey sausage which is a great alternative for those who don’t eat beef and pork! We will stay here again!

Hands down the nicest Holiday Inn express I have ever stayed at and I’ve stayed at hundreds. Cookies upon check in, bottle of water waiting in my room, refrigerator, happy hour with a couple of free drinks and a nice assortment of snacks. Everyone was friendly and courteous. I would definitely stay here again!

I’m a Holiday Inn kind of girl when I can be and location permits. Check in was a breeze and upon asking if they happened to have an extra windshield wiper(new rental car that did not receive one), the front desk girl was more than happy to let me borrow some little one she got from a vendor I presume. She even asked if I wanted it in front of my door the next morning. I let her know I would just ask for it if was needed. I got asked if I wanted a paper delivered to my door and also cookies. I agreed to the paper, nice touch. I feel like that this has been let go at some locations. My room was an inferno. I turned down the heat from 68 and that did nothing so I turned the air on and left to work out. The gym was also an inferno and the guy already in there had opened the window which helped. Once I got back to my room, having the air on helped, but it never really cooled down. Close the few restaurants in the area, including a subway inside of the Walmart. Breakfast was typical of the HI’s and there was a little stand by check out to grab a breakfast bar on the go if you wanted. I’m sure I will stay here again due to business in the area.

This hotel is extremely clean. Friendly staff and decent breakfast included. The shower was high pressure with a really nice shower head — it felt like you were getting a massage! Hot water and fluffy towels. Quiet. I might bring my own pillow though as those were less than great. The 2nd floor was a bit warm & stuffy in the hallways but our room was comfortable once we turned on the air.

Stayed here for work for about a week. Breakfast… meh, nothing special. As I’m usually a Hilton guy, this was my first Holiday Inn Express so it’s hard to compare breakfasts to other Holiday Inns. Friendly staff. Convenient to the highway and walking distance to Walmart, Perkins, Wendys, Starbucks and I think a Krispy Kreme. Be sure to fill your fridge with Leinenkugel from Walmart :) Some tasty American, Wisconsin brewed beer. I like Sheboygan. I don’t know why but it makes me want to sing the Shipoopi song from Family Guy for some reason.

We stay here for most Packers games because it is way cheaper than staying in Green Bay where most of the hotels make you commit to 2 nights, and it’s an easy drive straight to Green Bay from the hotel. The front desk staff is alway courteous even at extremely late hours. The beds are comfortable, and the free breakfast is well as ok as dehydrated eggs can be. Will definitely stay here in the future for Packers weekends.

If this had been a trip other than business I would have been more disappointed. Having the find a decent place to stay that was«fiscally responsible» for 4 of us from the company to stay in Sheboygan was more of a challenge than I would have expected. In retrospect, we should have stayed at one of the resorts; however, this was business and we figured Holiday Inn Express would be fine. And it was. Just nothing special. My room had a clogged tub drain(my biggest pet-peave in a hotel — I can’t handle standing in stagnant water that is presumably backed up by someone’s nasty hair), one of my co-workers has a pesky fly in the room(that wasn’t able to take flight, apparently?) and one of my other co-workers had wet carpet in his room. None of these things were huge, but just not necessary — although the wingless fly probably couldn’t have been helped. Anyhow, this hotel is a 2 story walk-up, so if you have heavy bags or any type of handicap, make sure you request a first floor. Breakfast was a nice perk although all the eggs were burnt each morning. Like brown and black burnt. Obviously a tray of eggs shipped in and(over)heated each morning. Still, there was a nice assortment. There was a little cocktail hour in the lobby each evening. Be aware there is a 2 drink maximum so if you’re a rowdy bunch like us, you should make plans to continue your evening down at the Villager in Sheboygan Falls. I thought it was funny when I asked the woman that was serving us where if the cheese and summer sausage were from Wisconsin she replied, «I would hope so but probably not — it’s all from Sysco». Awesome. And that brings me to the restaurant recommendations. Don’t trust the people at the counter. They must be getting a kickback from the«Boring Food Alliance» or «Chains-R-Us» because the girl that was working there, apart from being sort of «odd», wasn’t able to provide any better recommendation than Chili’s(seriuosly?) or Brisco County Wood Grill. Brisco is «OK» but basically a local copy of any generic national chain that features a nice view of the river. These restaurants seemed to be the only 2 that the staff had ever heard of, no matter what the request of the guest was. I asked where I could get some local walleye, she suggested Brisco(they don’t have any local fish). I overheard another guest ask where they could have a really great meal(they were dressed up) and she suggested Brisco. I don’t get it. With a little help from Unilocal who needs her suggestions anyway? ;-) I will say that the cost of this hotel was not in line with the quality. Basically comparable to a Marriott Fairfield, this place should not be any more than $ 100.
