Stopped in late for a quick dinner. Fantastic meal and service. The wedge salad was deconstructed(I know, right?), but amazing. The corn chowder was thick, rich and muti-leveled. I tried the house Manhatten and loved it. Rob and Katy have always kicked it up in Sheboygan and they still are.

We went to black pig for brunch Sunday, I would said the atmosphere here is unique upscale, we started our day with Bloody Mary and mimosa so both are great! And for our meals we both ordered Rajun Cajun eggs Benedict and eggs our dish was tasty but eggs was over cooked so I have to took 1 star off! Overall the restaurant is very nice and pretty but food should be better than this!

This was a fantastic surprise! We are not from the area and found this restaurant on the way home from Door County. Literally everything was fantastic, from the bacon and egg flatbread to the ginger bourbon cocktail to the cauliflower pancetta Mac and cheese. Yum. We will be back!!!

I have been at the black pig a few times now and can say without a doubt it is my favorite restaurant in Sheboygan. Last time I was in I had the duck confit lasagna, and I must say it is one of the best plates of food I have ever had! The flavor a mix perfectly. I could have eaten another piece but we had the Bacon! Appetizer as well as the duck wantons, great meal! The casual setting and fine dining menu is exactly what Sheboygan needs!!!

The best food in town. This is LA or New York quality food. I’ve eaten at many of Sheboygan’s restaurants. Early on I was convinced the Reuben egg rolls were the best thing I’ve had in town so I was slow to try other entrees. Their 7 oz steak is cooked to a perfection. The cauliflower risotto brought me to tears. The Brussels sprouts mixed vegetables are amazing. The Cajun corn chowder? Consistently amazing. The apple Quinoa salad? Also terrific. There is also something to be said for consistency. It’s great food but I know what to expect: a unique flavor that consistent delivers a healthy version of comfort food. The service is perfectly a wonderful mix of attentive without intrusion. You won’t be disappointed!

Interesting, different, and tasty. The black pig in Sheboygan is one of my go-to spots for others visiting the area. The duck-fried fries are extremely tasty and the plates are quite tasty. I haven’t encountered an order here that I didn’t enjoy. Some played may be on he pricey side, but once you take a bite, it doesn’t seem so bad. They have two TVs at the bar, so if you’re just coming in for a drink(they even have a sazerac!) and some finger food, it’s definitely worth the time. However, I’d recommend trying some dishes from the menu.

Torn between a salad and veggie flatbread, went with the later and loved it. Flavorful, thin crust with nice fresh veggies and thin layer of cheese. Highly recommend,

Great pork sandwich, I’ve had it several times and it’s always awesome. They also have some of the best mac and cheese. Most importantly they always have at least one good IPA on tap! Get the Three Sheeps, it’s the bomb.

This place was still relatively new when I tried it, but the word of mouth and Unilocal reviews were already fantastic and they did not disappoint. I loved the feel of this place. It was is just slightly more than casual, but you’ll be fine in jeans. I got the White Truffle And Black Pepper Bacon Mac and Cheese and could eat it for the rest of my life. If you are a kid a heart like me, try this. But just a warning, it may ruin all other mac and cheese for you. Make sure to check out the walls for what they almost named the big black big statue and pick out your favorite name.

It was amazing! The burger and the fries were outstanding! Definitely would go again! Service was a bit slow but not enough go complain in depth about!

Place is great. Came in from out of town. My kid ordered the Cajun corn chowder and I had to finish it. It was terrific. Almost could have been a meal on its own. My wife went with the max and cheese. She loved it. I had the burger and it was delightful. The Bloody Mary is an absolute must. Overall great place.

Popped in for a late lunch. They were closing at 2:00 pm to get ready for a private Christmas party, so I got the special. A fried Mac & Cheese patty covered with a mild cheese sauce and topped with a mound of bbq pulled pork. I know it sounds weird, but it was delicious. The crisp breading and the rich cheese sauce complimented the Mac & cheese. The pulled pork was tender with a sweet bbq sauce. It was the perfect size for me. Service was very good since the restaurant was basically empty.

We were headed to the Blue Harbor Resort with the kids for a weekend get away when hunger hit and we needed lunch. We looked up our lunch options and Black Pig came up in the top 5 and we thought we would give it a try. We had a great experience. First, it has great seating so it is child friendly. They also have a children’s menu. Mac and Cheese… what kid doesn’t love that. We loved our meal. My husband and I both ordered different sandwiches. He ordered the pulled pork and I ordered the short rib. It wasn’t a light lunch my any means but it was delicious. The sandwiches are great. The meat was tender, the toppings fresh, and the sauces homemade. It lived up to it’s label of comfort food. In hindsight we could have split a sandwich and been satisfied. Not that I didn’t eat the whole thing!

They buy whole pigs and break them down themselves. Do you know how rare that is in the Midwest? Rare anywhere? A limited menu, which is good because what they do make is great. Perhaps the best pork chop I have ever had in n my life. No, the best. Great service, great food, good rye selection, but not cheap. Not NY expensive, but not Wisconsin cheap. Overall, a great place for dinner or lunch, but not a cheap night out

CAJUNMACANDCHEESE. Truffle fries. BACON everywhere. Granted truffle and bacon are pretty much the best anytime, anyhow, anywhere, BUT the Black Pig still gets major kudos for understanding that and utilizing both to their fullest. We’re not longer living in Sheboygan, but when we go back for a visit I know some mac’n’cheese is calling my name…

I was really excited to come to The Black Pig. I’d heard rave reviews for it, and the menu sounds absolutely wonderful. Unfortunately, our visit was just okay. It started off with the slowest service ever. There were maybe two other tables there when we were, but only one waitress who kept wandering off and disappearing into the kitchen for 15 minutes at a time. We started off our lunch with a few ciders, which were really good. To share, we got a half order of Cajun Mac($ 8.95). It was really creamy and well seasoned. I would order this again, it was delicious. I also tried to start with a cup of the soup of the day, which was bacon cheeseburger($ 5.95). I say tried, because said disappearing server completely forgot about it, and brought out the rest of our food. She brought it out after the fact, but then I didn’t even really want it, since I had an entrée out. The soup wasn’t worth ordering– it was ridiculously salty, I don’t think I ate even half of it. My main dish, however, was pretty good. I had a Duck Confit & Le Cabrie Brie Cheese flatbread($ 12.95). It was pretty delicious and a perfect portion– I ate it all, and was contently full. I wish there had been more duck on it. It was topped with the aforementioned confit and brie, as well as cherries, spinach, an onion and garlic sauce, and a balsamic drizzle. My girlfriend got the special of the day, which silly us, we didn’t ask the price for. She got a burger called The Hambone that cost a whopping $ 25. Never again. It was an obscene amount of food though. I don’t even remember everything, but it was a burger topped with bacon, prosciutto, chili, cheese, a fried egg, and I feel like I’m forgetting things. It was behemoth, and it kept her fed for like three days. She liked it well enough, but the big portion didn’t make up for the mediocre quality– she wouldn’t order it again. She got this with a side of White Truffle Oil & Black Pepper Bacon fries($ 5.95). These were really good too, not too oily or limp. I’d order these again too. I was a little annoyed that the server didn’t seem to care about her customers, and that we weren’t at all compensated for the forgotten and uneaten oversalted soup, especially since we had waited way too long for our dining experience to finally be over with. I’d like to give them the benefit of the doubt that the server was just having a bad day. I would give The Black Pig another shot, to see if the attitude of the restaurant improved with a different server, but based on my experience right now, I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again.

So, my husband got to pick where we went for lunch on Saturday, and he picked the Black Pig. It was empty, but that was awesome, bc I got a tour of how they push the wine, which is on tap, up from the basement! We had so much fun Saturday that we went back Sunday for brunch(and were delighted there was a separate, special menu). Sunday was *packed* by the way, full of families out for Easter brunch post church. Our waitresses were efficient and friendly both days, so that was great. The Chardonnay on tap is, IMO, really yummy and was perfect for our Sunday brunch. Their Merlot(which wasn’t on tap and which I had on Saturday) was not so good. Saturday we had the half salad(which was just OK, but with a side of jalapeño ranch dressing, much better;) and the fried pork wontons, which the husband LOVED.(They were good, if not at all healthy;) Sunday we opted for much heartier fare — as Theron got the duck confit omelet over cubed potatoes which he said was just OK(I didn’t try it). We shared the plentiful ‘French Toast’ with raspberry preserves and candied walnuts. Kudos to them for making it interesting by using what seemed to be a real baguette. The big win for us on Sunday, though, was(hanging my head in gluttonous shame) the broccoli and mushroom mac n cheese. Man was that delicious! And filling! Thanks for a fun, food-filled, if fattening, weekend, Black Pig! :)

We came here for Valentine’s Day. The food was perfection! The only thing that kept it from a 5 star was they were a half hour late to get us our reserved table. However, it was Valentine’s Day, and they were gracious about it, told us to sit at the bar.(See opposite review for Enoteca Roma). We split mussels, pork orichette pasta, and truffle fries. My husband said they were the best fries he’s ever had. The pasta was so succulent. I was spooning up the mussel sauce. The décor is really pretty, unpretentious, offbeat. Good beer selection.

Stopped by on our way through Sheboygan one rainy day and have ZERO regrets about choosing the Black Pig! When you go in, it feels fancy, but one glance at the quotes on the wall and fun décor, and you feel right at home. When we went, the place was mostly empty, but we were there at that awkward time after lunch but before dinner. The staff was very nice and were very helpful with explaining any questions I had on the menu. The food was perfect for a cold rainy day — comfort food at its finest. The pork sandwich is worth having. My boyfriend has one of the soups and it looked delicious. Would definitely go back.

We came upon this little gem during our family vacation to the area. The restaurant options in downtown Sheboygan seem to be a bit limited, so we were surprised to find something so wonderful. The place was pretty empty as most of the downtown seemed to be when we arrived. It was a really cool atmosphere with quotes related to pigs on the walls and even a huge black pig on the end of the bar. The service was excellent. Our server was very knowledgeable and suggested a similar beer to one that was ordered since they had run out of the one ordered. The food was phenomenal. We started with the White Truffle Oil & Black Pepper Bacon fries, which were very crispy and flavorful. In our group everyone ordered different dishes and sampled each others. I will tell you that there wasn’t a single item that wasn’t great! We ordered the Chili with Cheese, Stuffed Mushrooms, Duck Confit & Les Freres Cheese Flatbread and the Black Pig Steak Sandwich. For dessert we devoured the Chocolate Smore. I would recommend if you order the Smore dessert that you share it with others as it is very rich with the chocolate ganache on the bottom. Reasonable prices, fun surroundings and great food, what more could you ask on vacation? If you are near Sheboygan, stop by and visit The Black Pig.
