Taco Loco

We went here for dinner a few months ago. The interior is pretty dated, but charming in a 70’s request sort of way.
The food isn’t bad, but overpriced. Small portions of guacamole, the food was subpar and our bill for two people came out to over $ 50. This seems high given how subpar the food was.

Recently moved over here… I tried this place three times with carry outs. Each time let me wait 30 minutes after promised time!!! A bunch of employees just standing around

The chips and salsa are the best. Their soup with chicken broth, tomato vase, and noodles is one of the best soups I’ve ever had. Taste like my grandma is in the kitchen making it. Love the family style atmosphere and service. Will always keep going here. Best Mexican jn the area!

Moved to the area a few months back and needed a new Mexican joint, decided to give this place a try. Our waitress was terrible, barely spoke English and was extremely rude. She must have came to our table 5 times in ten minutes asking if we were ready to order, and not being familiar with the menu we felt rushed. They wouldn’t let my wife get fish tacos on the puffy taco shells… how hard would that be to make? The food was sub par, and the experience wasnt anything special. Plus there’s pictures of random people hanging up everywhere like a 4^th grade classroom. Avoid this place at all costs.

I am so glad I found this place there used to be one on 17 mile when I was a kid. I loved going there. Now that I’m an adult I found this one and I’ve been here a few times. They have a great menu and all the food is so good. I’ve had their enchiladas tacos burritos and tostadas. The latest time I got their Flan oh my gosh it was velvety and smooth and it had cherries on top in a yummy syrup with whipped cream. It is nice too because it is in the $$ price bracket but it is on the low end like 15 dollars per person.

Fantastic Mexican food! Love the Enchiladas in French dip tacos. Wait staff is very friendly. Carry out is also just as good as dining in. Chips and mild salsa are a family favorite!

I love Mexican food, but this was not it. The food had no flavor. I don’t know how you can call it Mexican when you don’t use jalapeño or cilantro or even salt. The shredded chicken was dry. The waitress was nice, but otherwise I cannot recommend this place.

Nice little restaurant, great environment, friendly waitresses and good food! I can’t complain :) The dipped tacos are fantastic. Great jalapeño poppers. Just all around great food. I would recommend it to anyone.

This is my last time here. UFB. We’ve been coming for ten years and it’s gone nothing but downhill. We came on a Monday. As it turns out it was «Mad Monday’s», $ 8 dinners… but not all dinners we learned when the bill came! My $ 11.95 chicken fajita was NOT on the $ 8 menu WE NEVER WERE OFFERED! However, my wife’s $ 11.95 chicken quesadilla was… wtf?
The worst part was we had to learn all this by asking once the bill arrived and we were charged full price! Just go elsewhere.

Very good tacos, burritos, rice and drinks. Fast service.

I’ve been here a couple times and recently, the service has been getting worse. I had to go to the bar to get my own drinks because the waitress forgot about them. She wouldn’t come back to the table, because she was «overwhelmed.» The dinning room was almost empty.
The food is really good! So if you can get past the bad service, I definitely recommend their enchiladas. The salsa tastes like they add olive juice, which is a huge turn off, however.

First time there and was very pleased with my meal. The beef enchiladas were fresh and tasty — the ground beef was awesome. Wish I lived close to visit more often. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive.

This place is awesome the hostesses are so cute there’s this one in particular with brown hair and blue eyes and she loves $ 5 tips great tamales check it out!

Hit or miss, most of the times they are misses. Got sick here once and stupid me gave him another shot. Always order the fajitas and they should come with enough chicken for 3 fajitas, barely get enough for 2. For $ 13 not worth it. Prices are ok, depends on chef cooking, wait for food is hit or miss as well 45 mins last time and fajitas were all burnt to a crisp. I asked the waitress was it supposed to look like this and she giggled and said I think so. Luckily head chef came out and he got another one out to me. Sundays suck and manager/​owner has a personality of a brick, with his wacky eccentric haircuts. If you need to find him he is at the corner of the bar surfing the web looking for other hair styles that can make him look wackier. Much better places are down the street and parking lot sucks for parking as well. They used to have more locations I wonder why only one now!

Growing up in Shelby Township I used to come here a lot with my family. Since moving out of the area after high school, I hadn’t gone since my visit the other day. This really is a great place to get Mexican food. The service is generally fast and the food is what you’d expect and look forward to when in the mood for Mexican. There is so much food with endless chips and salsa that I always have leftovers.
Another perk is their $ 3 house margaritas, which I was never able to enjoy in my youth and I’m really glad I can now. There is nothing cheap about this drink except for the price. Having a few of these would question your ability to drive home, for sure. I only got one but seriously regretted that decision after I left. I would come back here just for those.

We had great fajitas. I am always afraid to get beef because most of the time it is very tough. I got the chicken steak combo. Both the steak and chicken had wonderful flavor. And oh so tender!
The salsa was great. And we saw a couple desserts the looked great (just too full to get one).
Prices are good. The only reason they are not getting a 5 is the table set up. Not very user friendly. But don’t let that stop you from checking it out.

Pretty good, good size portions.
The tortilla chips taste stale to me and the place is a little dark/​outdated.

We were only the third booth-​table of people to be there, soon after we were seated, the other 2 party’s finished up & we had the place to ourselves, which was NICE!
Our server stopped in & I recognized her from 2 previous visits, the charming Anna!
We ordered 2 happy hour margaritas $ 4.00 each & 2 waters, which arrived right away.
We wanted to save room for dessert so we split the fajitas trio for 2 $ 15.95

They arrived soon after our drinks & the plate was filled with perfectly grilled green peppers, onions, tomatoes & the 3 proteins

Also the chicken shrimp steak were all marinated, moist & lean. And very flavorful !
We then ordered the deep-​fried ice cream vanilla with honey

Truly large enough for 2 too share.
Also very noteworthy & kind.

On a cold, rainy and windy Friday we stopped in here on a whim. I hadn’t looked it up Unilocal so, I walked in blind.
Very cozy inside. Low lighting and festive banners hanging everywhere. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She brought us hot and mild salsa with chips fairly quickly. I enjoyed the salsa, although along with the chips it was a little heavy on salt. They have an entire section of the menu dedicated to vegetarians… Woohoo! Lots of combos for the meat eaters also. I ended up ordering cheese enchiladas with a side of rice and my partner ordered three beef tacos with rice.
My enchiladas were super yummy… Came out fresh and hot. Perfect for yucky weather! The rice was tasty, maybe not the most flavorful I’ve ever had however, it was easily fixed when I added some of my enchilada sauce/​cheese (don’t judge me all you no mixing food people). The tacos my partner ordered came with fried, crispy tortillas. He loved them! They were a good size too.
Overall I give the experience a four star. It was pleasant and the food tasted fresh. I think it was a little pricey for this type of casual dinning and thus why I’m holding that one star.

I often experience prompt service and great food here. They have an awesome 2 for $ 20 deal: entrée + dessert or app (all from a preset special menu). Can’t go wrong with that option!
Enchiladas are an option of rojas or verde, so they are more authentic. Chicken tortilla soup os more on the thick side & slightly spicy. Both hot & mild salsa options are available.
Negatives: dated décor, no a la carte options.
