Sunset Drive-In

Since the digital upgrade the audio has greatly improved, if it don’t sound good it’s probably your car speakers. I can’t say the video has greatly improved because your viewing it on a big outdoor screen through a dirty windshield lol. This place is the most bang for the buck to spend time w the kids. The biggest thing about this place that don’t make any sense is the handicapped parking spots on the very front row. You would think closer to the bathroom or snack bar would be better for a handicapped person. Their burgers are pretty cool, nothing amazing but not like anywhere else and I actually look forward to getting one when they open for the season every year. I been coming here for years and so happy they kept this one open since their Bessemer location closed. I know they’re not making much at $ 12 a carload so they make some money at the snack bar.

Don’t expect a cineplex experience with copious choices in the snack bar or spacious restrooms. The Sunset is pretty basic.
That said, this place harkens back to a time when the pace of life was slower and the drive-​in experience WAS the entertainment highlight for families.

The family loves the triple features for $ 10.00 a car load. It is a bit of a drive for us we live a little less than an hour but it is worth it for the price and the fun and it bring back a lot of fun memories of things i used to do with my parents when i was a kid. You have to use your car radio now which we don’t mind because i have a good car battery that wont die on me when it is running a long time. If you are sitting outside i would say bring some ant spray because they do have ants sometimes that will bite you. It is a great place to spend a week-​end night with the kids. Sometimes they show only two movies so don’t quote me on the 3 movies.

Had a blast at Sunset. Kids loved it. Going back again. Where else can u go to the movies and go get 2 buckets of popcorn for $ 7. Bring bug spray a blanket and a set of jumper cables.;-)

It look like it’s going to be another good season at the drive in. The price has been upped to $ 15 per car, but it’s still a deal. We just saw Amazing Spiderman 2 and Robocop. So everything is first run. As always, lots of families and friendly people. I must admit the chili cheese fries are tasty.
