Jug’n’plug

Could be a great porno name but instead you a very convenient, convenient store with snacks, beer and bait. Quick and easy, clean and friendly. Told you it could be a movie.

Jug’nPlug used to be my FAVORITE place, even as a kid. That was before it closed and they lost their liquor license. Now there are new owners. The inside is the same, and the same products are sold there. I’m not even sure I have a problem with the new ownership as much as the new staff. My husband and I were very displeased with the staff, to the point that we decided for the rest of our visit at home we would not spend our money there. Although the prices are low, Country Fresh has started matching or beating the prices at Jug’n’Plug on booze and beer. If you need a fishing license there is a gas station just up the road at Car Lane that offers them. As far as bait, most of the marinas sell all of the same items for relatively the same prices.
Get better staff and I will be back.

I LOVE THIS PLACE. Where else can you get bait and booze. Seriously you can get bait and booze here.
When I was younger my grandpa would take us in here to buy earthworms and minnows to go fishing with him in the morning, later my dad would take us back and get beer for the adults and soda for us kids.
Now as an adult I go in here and buy Kaluha, Vodka, Beer, etc and it is cheap!!! Alcohol on the MO side is always cheaper than the KS side, but man oh man alcohol is cheap here. Probably because it is a tourtist town and beer is a must have for fishing and float trips. Both of which are popular in this area.
They have a great beer and alcohol selection here, wine however is hit or miss, but on the lake beer is King.
Oh and you can still get bait here, but I tend to use lures now instead of live bait.
