A fantastic italian restaurant! You can tell the owners take their business very seriously. The food is authentic(I had the Zuppa de Pesce) and the atmosphere is great! Prices are reasonable. What more can you ask for…

This is a wonderful restaurant. Family owned and run, with incredible authentic Italian food. There is so much to choose from on the menu and they have a variety of specials as well. I loved the Stuffed Meatball appetizer and the Stuffed Figs appetizer. I also tried the Fried Calamari which was very nice, it was not greasy at all so I liked it very much. My main course was the homemade Gnocchi with meat sauce– it was absolutely delicious! I also tried my boyfriends Zuppa de Pesce which was a huge portion, it is served over linguini and you can choose to have it spicy or not. The amount of seafood was incredible and it was so good! I also got to try the Nutella Pie… yum! Service was perfect as well. I can’t wait to come back to try more items on the menu!

For starters don’t waste your money a friend raved about this place if you eat here you don’t know what quality food is, lobster over penne red sauce, lobster was frozen then thawed out no prob but drain that thing I’m not eating tomato soup, told waitress she said the cook has been cooking for 45 years I said I’ve been eating in fine rest for 30 years, this guy should. Stick to pizza Here’s the best part I asked for cheese and olive plate I mention put something together don’t care about price, what comes out 4 pieces of old provolone cheese from stop& shop and pitted black olives from the can prob from the bar not rinsed so you taste the metal can !! I paid cash and. Still left a tip That’s how I roll, don’t want a free meal I have no prob paying $$$. Quality meal So here’s a –5 stars

This a great place to eat. The food was real good Italian. Now it is very hard to find an Italian Restaurant, that is Italian. Myself and a guest, who were students in Italy, enjoy our meal. Most Restaurant today say they are Italian but they are not. I am from Italian American Family. Hopeful I can bring members of my family to this Restaurant and I know they will enjoy the food. It is real Italian.

Let me tell you … This place started out in Bridgeport, my father took me and our family there almost every Saturday when we were kids. Real Italian food. Melt in your mouth absolute goodness … The only Italian food I’ll eat in CT. The new place is brighter … But the food … my God, it’s good stuff. Kind staff … family run … worth every penny.

I have wanted to go here for years, I go by it every day going to and home from work. I have also bought my parents gift certificates over the years and they have enjoyed dining here. Last night we didn’t feel like cooking and were brainstorming and came up with here. We got there about 6pm and there was a lively bar crowd and only a few people in the dining room. The owner asked if we had reservations and we said no so he sat us right near the door against the entry window on the outside of the building even though 80% of the tables in the restaurant were open. It wasn’t a very comfortable area to sit. If they put some nice sheer type curtains or drapes here it would charm the area up nicely, instead you see everyone coming in the restaurant and the parking lot. On the nice side our server was Danielle, a very nice person, I’m guessing she is the owners daughter and her mom does the cooking. We both started with a glass of the house wines, I had a chianti and my partner had a malbec. Not sure what brand they were but they were good and filled right to the top of the glass. Bread was also brought to the table and olive oil is there for dipping. We both ordered the pappardelle al ragout. All of their pasta is homemade and the pasta was thick and hearty. It came with a beef and pork red sauce. We both liked it. The portion wasn’t huge but a normal size and was priced at $ 18.50. Oh, I forgot, we shared the meatball stuffed with mozzarella and provolone with red sauce. It was good. What I also liked after the app was brought out it was a nice time in between before they brought the entrée. No rushing here you out the door here. The Pièce de résistance of the meal was the homemade nutella pie. Danielle told us all of their desserts are homemade by her mother and her moms makes desserts on the light side, not heavy. We both have not heard of nutella pie so we shared it and can I say this was one of the best desserts that I have had in a very long time. I wanted more! So overall we had a nice experience but next time maybe we will make a reservation so we don’t have to sit by the front door.

I have had many a dinner here. 80% of the time we sit in the bar area. This place is best described as a neighborhood restaurant. Very small staff most are family and speak with heavy accents. Don’t come here looking for a fine dining experience, its great people and very good food neighbor style. The great you with a smile and a hearty hello. The menu has everything, although the typeset is a little small lol. The pasta is made fresh daily and is very good al Denti style. The single meatball stuffed with ricotta is a fav on the apps menu. Their veal is some of the best I have ever had, no matter how your order it. One of the best things is that if nothing on the menu or specials trips your trigger they will make anything you like, mix and match any part or of dish with any other dish. I’ll be back many times over.

What a brutal experience. I’m in the business 30 years. Ordinary food. Inexcusable service. We got there early. One waitress, a busboy and a manager/bartender/host. Wasn’t too busy. Then, at the dinner rush hour, they got slammed. There’s just no excuse. The place should be properly staffed… And then if it doesn’t get busy, you let staff go home. The ponytailed manager guy couldn’t see while trying to help the waitress that two tables wanted a check and another had their credit card and check ready to be paid. He also had some VIPs come in that he clearly knew. He immediately brought over some bottles of wine and poured them glasses to the rim of the glass. Total amateur for a place that’s been around so long. Never again. Terrible, low rent place.

I cannot BELIEVE what happened tonight. I couldn’t wait to Unilocal about it. So here’s what happened. My party of 8 came tonight to celebrate my brother’s birthday. My father and I got there before everyone else so he decided to order an appetizer. He asked the waitress about the fresh mozzarella appetizer. It was difficult to understand her English, but one of the words she said was«provolone.» My dad said«Oh, provolone sounds good, we’ll get that for the table.» We saw that each antipasti was around $ 13, so we figured we’d try it. Well when the appetizer came we were very surprised to see 2 enormous dishes, one of the mozzarella and tomato, and one of provolone, salami, and mixed vegetables. My dad thought she was referring to the one appetizer he was asking about, yet she ordered us two separate ones. But okay, whatever, my dad said it’s fine, let’s just enjoy the celebration. The price was reasonable anyway, so we’ll keep the appetizer we didn’t order and not make a fuss. Well, when the bill came, we saw that they charged one appetizer $ 35 and the other $ 40! When one of us went up to ask about it, she said that when my dad«ordered it for the table» she multiplied it to feed all 8 of us, because 1 order wouldn’t be enough. We argued that that wasn’t what we wanted, and if she assumed that’s what we meant, she should have clarified. If the menu says«$ 13» for an appetizer, how could you multiply it by 4 without so much as a «By the way, just to clarify…» It was very sneaky and downright despicable. This woman(who happened to be the owner!) went nuts, yelling at us, saying there’s nothing she can do. After arguing with us for 15 minutes, she reluctantly took $ 35 off the bill. For a restaurant owner to argue that angrily with customers with a $ 450 bill(SO not worth that much) shows the biggest lack of customer service I have ever encountered. Not to mention, when we were ordering our entrees, I asked her if I can substitute the prosciutto in my meal with sautéed spinach. She looked like she heard me, but didn’t acknowledge my request at all. When my meal came, I wasn’t surprised to not see sautéed spinach. When I mentioned it to her, she simply said«Oh, I didn’t tell them» and blankly looked at me, as if that’s the end of it. Too late now. And she walked away. I was so disgusted. Finally, someone in my party asked the busser to put an order of sautéed spinach in for me. The food was decent, but overpriced. And on top of the worst customer service I’ve ever seen and the sneaky bill, I am never coming back. I hope you all have a better time than we did. And I hope my brother’s birthday wasn’t ruined by it.

I could give more stars if based on food alone but the service was terrible. There were two large parties in the dining room and they got all of the attention. Except for delivering the food we had to flag the server down for everything including taking the order. When we requested something, like a clean glass because there was something floating in my husbands beer, they acted like we were imposing on their busy schedule. The food however was excellent, I just wish the service had been better.
