Outpost Pizzeria II

This place is hopping on a Friday night with a friendly and quick-​moving staff. We ordered take-​out pizza (one with eggplant, the other Sicilian). The thin crust was perfect, and the Sicilian delightfully filling. The dining area was brightly lit, and very clean. Although we did not eat here tonight, it may be fun for an eat-​in experience. I thought the prices were fair; we had two large pizzas for just about $ 30. Next time, I am going to try the Grandma’s pizza. If I had seen this on the menu first, it would have been my choice!

After reading other reviews I went tonight with my husband and grandson, the place is clean and basic but the pizza, the pizza is fabulous. Thank goodness because it’s slim pickins for great pizza in Shelton. We had just a plain cheese, the basic. Thinnest crust, absolutely delicious. Next time have to get the margherita.

Friendly staff! That’s the starter. They were all sweet and playful with one another when I arrived, but all stopped to greet. It’s the little things that make your dining experience a little nicer.

And they did.
My kids and I ordered baked ziti, salad, mozz sticks and pizza. They wanted options, I wanted a salad, my wife ordered it all. I’m glad she did. We devoured everything.
Salad was good, usual chop garden with peppers and full sized olives. The pizza was yummy. Kids kept biting, dancing, bite some more and then dance some more. They spent 10 hours in the car so the dancing was appropriate. The mozz sticks were ok, wish they were hot and gooey, but thats what you get for picking them up. The food was all warm when I got home, but thats what you get when eating in a hotel. You miss the fresh out of the oven part. The ziti was cheesy and because it was in a container, it was hot and cheesy goodness.
This team had that oven to table quickness. I enjoyed, my family enjoyed. Thank you guys.

Great pizza. Fresh ingredients, good dough and prompt service. I ordered delivery while staying at the Homewood — I was very satisfied.

This place has an excellent hot oil pizza with whole spicy peppers! Their house dressing (oil and vinegar based) is AMAZING. All of their ingredients are fresh and the service is outstanding. The only thing I would change is add alcohol!

Tried the delivery yesterday. We ordered a large buffalo chicken pizza and it was incredible. Usually with these pizzas they overdo one ingredient making it hard to enjoy the rest. Didn’t have an issue with this one and the chicken was nice and crispy on the outside. Perfect job

we had grandma’s pizza delivered… plum tomato, fresh mozz. and fresh basil.
It was square, and the crust was great. I would definitely order again, one of the best delivery pizza I’ve had in a while

Good pizza. We tried a Sicilian and thin crust style pie. Both were very good. The toppings tasted like quality meats and everything was cooked perfectly. The customer service was very good and the employees are friendly. Also, the restaurant seemed very clean. The subs here are good also.

Good pizza. I love a super thin crust and that is hard to find outside of New Haven or Fairfield. The crust here isn’t very thin but it’s good. A little more pricey but worth it. Very friendly staff.

Ive just had home delivery and they are fast. Food is good, especially love the eggplant parmigiano. Prices are decent. Only had one issue when i had a delivery and the order was half of what they usually give.

This is my family’s go to place for delivery. We love everything we have tried from here and are never disappointed! They are always so friendly to us and their food (including their pizza) is delicious and affordable!

Went to get slice with my 5 yr son and they cut his slice in half so he can handle it with out me even having to ask, then after we finished the owner came out and gave him 2 mozzarella sticks. Just bc they wanted to have give a nice gesture … great local pizza shop that u must try

Monday night… wife and I stopped by unexpectedly and ordered small antipasto and hot oil pizza. Dressing for antipasto was very good and small was big enough for the two of us… The hot oil pizza was amazing… The owner told me they use a special tomato sauce for this pie that is a little sweeter than normal that gives a contrast to the spicy hot oil. Crust was thin but fresh and this pizza is worth every dime… First time there but I’m definitely going back.

Delicious pizza. Hot oil pizza was especially flavorful, thin crust. Looking forward to trying other items. Only 3 stars because takeout order process left much to be desired. Ordered 2 large pizzas. One hot oil, one standard cheese. Took 3 repeats of order on phone to get «order taker» to get it right. When I got there to pick up pizza, the order was for one hot oil and two standard cheese. Only took and paid for two of them. If they get order process straightened out, I will be a repeat customer.

Stumbled upon this place while waiting to see my account in the same plaza. Don’t let the lack of reviews fool you. This is a legitimate place for good wholesome pizza. Had 2 Sicilian for lunch, they rival some of the best places in NYC. I usually don’t eat the crust on my pizza as they are always hard, dry and lacking flavor. I down both of my Sicilians and the only thing I left behind are crumbs! Will definitely eat here again!

Ordered a few pies for a work event. It was a complete disaster. Instructions to substitute spinach for broccoli on a veggie pie were ignored. If it wasn’t possible someone should have called. I asked for garlic, cheese, and red pepper on the side and did not receive any of those either. The best part… a phone number was provided to gain access to the building. The delivery guy didn’t have it??? So he called the number used to place the order. Unfortunately the building doesn’t have cell service (the reason for special instructions and phone number on seamless) 20 minutes later I received the freezing cold pizza. No apology or solution was even offered. 2 stars because the pizza was delicious once reheated… sadly we’ll never order from there again.

Family and I were very happy with the quality of the pizza at Outpost. I would not go as far as the «Best pizza in CT» claim in the front of the restaurant (Sallys & Pepes are no slouch!) but I have to say that the pizza is very good. The «hot oil» pizza was a touch too oily, but was very good. The white clam pizza was outstanding, fresh clams, crispy bacon, and just the correct amout of garlic. Looking forward to trying the other pies as well as other items from the extensive menu.

Moved to Shelton over a year ago and have been underwhelmed by the pizza in the area, until Outpost II opened up shop. It is easily the best in Shelton and one of the best I’ve had in CT. The hot oil pizza is terrific as well as the traditional crust. It gets very busy especially on Friday nights where it can get a little hectic, so be prepared and be patient because it is well worth the wait. Hit has a strong NY pizzeria vibe going on there.

We ordered through Grub Hub. We have been away with family and had no food in the house or the energy to go shopping. The food was delivered 20 minutes ahead of schedule and with no errors (thank you). My husband ordered chicken, bacon, jalapeño quesadillas to which he responded that they were the best quesadillas he ever had. I had the fish and chips. I was underwhelmed with the fish but maybe that is my fault for ordering it from a pizza place. My husband also liked the garlic bread with cheese. I think we will order from there again but I will try something different.

They easily get my vote for best pizza in Shelton! Every pizza I’ve tried, from meatball, chicken, veggie, white Italiano, to hot oil, has been delicious. The sauce and cheese are very tasty, and the crust is a nice compromise between thin crust and regular. I’m eating a hot oil with bacon and onion as we speak and I am not disappointed. This review is based solely on their pizza but I’m looking forward to trying their other offerings.
