Walking into this place is like a sugary sensory overload! For someone who doesn’t eat sugar, but loves it, I could sit here all day… Just to smell the sugary goodness coming from those ovens. Coming in early we were greeted by the baker who apologized profusely for his inability to operate a calculator… No worries, man, you’ve got caramel and gluten-free cookies needing you! He was so sweet and so apologetic! My coworker had the raspberry coffee cake, which was devoured in three bites… Good? No. Amazing! I stuck with black coffee… Which was excellent all on its own. The space is really quite adorable. There are crafty pieces, handmade soaps, and local teas for sale. There are crates of dress-up items in the dining area for the littles to play with… This is such a great spot to pull up a chair, grab a bite — sweet or savory — and chat it up with a friend!

My sons wanted ice cream and on the way to Dairy Queen we noticed The Sweet Shack. We stopped in and had a great experience. The girl at the counter was very pleasant and accommodating as we had never been in the establishment before and are returning to Shelton after retiring from the military. We will be coming back in the future!

You’re gonna love this cute little place. Great food for lunch, but most awesome cupcakes, cookies, sweet treats of all kinds. Owner Brennan and her front counter person, Laurie(her Mom) are the nicest folks you could ever hope to meet. Wherever you are in the South Puget Sound, take a nice drive to Shelton and support this wonderful business! BTW, the day I had the Mexican cookies, they were perfect, contrary to what Deanna said in her review. Today I had a carrot cake cupcake, best frosting I’ve ever had.

We went to The Sweet Shack while visiting Shelton with family. It was on the list of «must see» because our Shelton family likes it so much. We had lunch and deserts. The sandwiches were good and the deserts were great! The bread pudding was over the top delicious! Lori was working and she was very nice. It is nice to meet people who enjoy what they do.

Was not impressed. Bought one thing for each of my family members and everything was on the dry side. Prices high for the quality.

I’m a little late to write my review but better late than never. The beginning of May is when I was looking for someone to make my wedding cake. I found Sweet shack and was worried because of how far it is from Lacey. I called ahead to set an appointment to do a cake tasting. I’m so happy I decided to make the drive out that way. The cake was fantastic! I absolutely loved that the raspberry filling has seeds, to me you could tell it was made from scratch. I think it was her peanut butter frosting that was so good, and I’m not a fan of peanut butter. She was right on time with delivery and even added some of my flowers to the cake to help tie it in with the wedding :) I had ordered a cupcake for my husband and I to eat on our one year anniversary. Unfortunately it wasn’t delivered with the rest of the cake. I mentioned it to her a few times. I didn’t occur to me that it was the middle of wedding season and that’s why I hadn’t heard from her. But when she did deliver the one cupcake I had ordered she brought an assorted dozen with her. She’s very nice with delicious cake :) I would recommend her to anyone in the Olympia and Lacey area.

The 50th birthday is a milestone and I wanted something special for my wife and our party guests. I have to admit I was a little worried about handing the cake detail to a Shelton WA business that I knew virtually nothing about. Once I had a consultation with the owner, I was convinced I had made the right decision. We decided on a cake that looked like a stack of books with each book being a separate flavored cake. The ‘books’ were Gone with the Wind(simply because it is a favorite of my wife), the AARP Welcome Manual and Turning 50 for Dummies… you get the picture. Anyway, they delivered the cake to the restaurant were the surprise party was being held and the end product was first class all the way. Our party guests were blown away by the amazing flavors and high quality of the product. Truly this was worth every penny and I hope to be purchasing another specialty cake from them in the future.

This place has great cupcakes! They are decent-sized and the frosting varies depending on the variety you choose. I have never been a big supporter of the«Red Velvet Movement,» but theirs are AMAZING. I don’t know what’s different, but man are they good. The white cake with coconut is also really good if you can get in on a day they have it. I love that this small town has this shop. My ONLY complaint is that it is a «small town shop,» and that means you might be there for awhile. I ran in one day on my lunch break, and the gal behind the counter was having a prolonged conversation with the customer she was waiting on, despite there being 2 others in line behind him. Bonding with your customers is great, but not when other customers are waiting in line to give you their money too, please remember they may be on a tight schedule. That being said, I will definitely support this local business and I hope they stay in town for a very long time.

Saw this adorable bakery and had to check it out — surprisingly large selection of home-baked goodies for a small shop. The orea cupcake was deliciously moist, and the turtle brownie was super chocolatey and fudgey! However the Mexican wedding cookies were a little dry… Also bought some packages of local teas for gifts, cute little sitting room for browsing and hanging out. The owner’s mother was very nice and said they just opened ~four months ago — hope everyone stops by and keeps this little gem going.
