Service is often a little slow and distracted but the prices are cheap and the portions are large. Food is good, standard mexican restaurant fare. Do yourself a favor and get the chorizo queso with your chips. Open Sundays when a lot of other restaurants in town are closed.

Located in Little Italy close to Case Western Reserve University this home style Italian eatery has very good food and a really nice staff. The Décor is funky, like non designed old school funky. It’s probably been that way forever and that’s OK! Looks like it can get really busy so get there early.

Unilocal reviewers are right, this place earns every one of it’s three stars, definitely no more. The food is ok, nothing special. The chips and salsa at the table were ok, though the salsa was spicy yet not flavorful. The meal was ok, nothing remarkable. The service, the waiter wanted to seem attentive but being mediocre seemed to get in the way. He left the empty chips basket on the table, only refilling it when we were almost done with our meal. My drink reached its end with never a request from the waiter to refill it. Yet they were eager and hovering to get paid. I’ll only come back the same way I came by today, when there’s no parking in town and all the other restaurants are full.

Note that this is a $ place and not a $$$ place. I feel we have too many over priced places to eat here in Shepherdstown, and this place makes for a nice treat out that isn’t going to kill your wallet feeding your family. I’ve been there three times and service has always been speedy and friendly. The menu has many good deals and the enchilada platter that I order from every Mexican place I try is $ 3 cheaper than what I normally pay at other places.

My husband and I dined here the night before the 2015 Back Roads Century. Even though the restaurant was busy it was only a five minute wait to be seated. Our waitress was pleasant and brought chips and salsa quickly but after she took our drink orders we didn’t see her for quite a while(to the point we were going to find her to ask). When we finally got our drinks we placed our order and we asked for napkins and cutlery and a chip refill. We had one request with our order, that the queso on my husband’s dish be on the side. He stressed this and our waitress very pleasantly acknowledged the request, repeated it, and wrote it down. Our food took over 40 minutes. Once it arrived, my husband’s queso was not on the side but at this point he didn’t mention, we just asked again for napkins and cutlery. It didn’t come … We waited and waited, as our food cooked, and just as I was getting up to ask, the young man who delivered the food to our table returned with two little plastic packs of cheap take-out type cutlery(fork, knife, napkin, salt, pepper). He said they had no cutlery available. At this point the restaurant was quite empty(5 – 6 tables full) so apparently no one was doing dishes. The food was mediocre, the water tastes like chlorine(which I’m sure is not the fault of the restaurant), and the service is marginal. We will not eat here again.

We had dinner here last night and sat in the bar area. Overall very pleased with our dining experience. Only two suggestions. Please turn the music up and remove the thumb tacked pictures from the walls. How about a big Mexican flag on the wall? Service was great. Our Margaritas were made to order and we’re very good. We enjoyed the picante and chips, good heat level. We Ordered a big combination platter and cleaned the plate. Prices are reasonable, but not cheap. Margaritas are $ 8 for a big fish bowl. Without the Mexican music I didn’t really feel like I was in a Mexican restaurant, turn it up. We will definitely be back.

Great food. Fast service AND very reasonably priced. you really cant ask for much more. Its a perfect stop for a quick lunch, or even to hang out and have a drink. They always have a drink special and happy hour! The food is very tasty and very different than Maria’s down the street. I highly suggest eating here!

Extensive menu, average food. Nothing was bad, it just wasn’t that great either. Tried the chicken enchiladas with tomatillo sauce and the fish tacos. Meh. They use corn tortillas(good) and serve Mexican Coke(good) and it seems like they make their own chips(good). Also, they’re one of few places in Shepherdstown that’s open in mid-afternoon on a Sunday.

Really good. We got the queso, queso with chorizo, chicken fajitas, margaritas, fajita burritos and other things in our party. For 6 people that ordered three appetizer dips, 5 meals, a desert, and drinks, the bill came to around $ 105. Everything tastes great and you got a huge portion of the fajitas, plenty to share. The salsa was perfectly fine, and the queso was great. The tortillas are my main complaint; they taste store bought and were small. Service was quick, but forgetful. I’ll be back.

Lunch Specials are a must! We all had the shrimp fajitas and they were delicious, they accommodated us with corn tacos 8 jumbo shrimps each!, staff very friendly. The beans were my favorite !
Two of us decided to try Mi Degollado’s for lunch. It was an interesting experience since my son used to work at the Yellow Brick Bank in the 1990’s. We had a taco salad and a quesadilla relleno. My meal was good but since I am from New Mexico, the food seems bland to me. I ordered my quesadilla with the beef, but it arrived with chicken. Service was very good.

Went in for dinner with my son. The décor was cleaned up from the Yellow Brick Bank format and transformed into a Mexican themed dining atmosphere. We were greeted at the door and within a minute seated at a table. The colors of the place are similar to the Charles Town Mi Degollado but the usual Mexican themed music was not being pipped through the dining room. The usual chips and house salsa were delivered promptly to the table and refilled once before our order. The chips were crisp, paired with fresh salsa. They would be even better if they had arrived to the table hot out of the fryer, perhaps the next visit. The waiter was friendly and quick to take our order and the meal arrived to the table within 8 minutes. My son ordered 3 tacos ala carte with a side of salsa and I ordered the Chipotle Burrito special. The tacos were hot and crisp filled accordingly with the beef that my son really likes. The Chipotle Burrito arrived to the table on a nicely warmed plate, and had a wonderful aroma and great presentation. The flavors were excellent, however the filling was simply warm, actually not as hot as the plate. The mixture of beans, rice, seasoning and chicken wrapped up in the flour tortilla and topped with chipotle would have been a 5 star presentation had the burrito been piping hot. The sides of sour cream and pico de gallo were nicely presented, and added to the overall presentation. To finish off the meal my son ordered the fried ice cream and enjoyed the crisp warm presentation with the creamy cool center. I look forward to visiting in the future, and trying some of their specials. Perhaps when they get their liscence enjying a beer as well.
