UHAUL

I will not try their coffee because of the lack of service we recieved when using the truck rental company. My husband and I rented a Uhaul truck via the UHAUL website and selected this nearby location. When my husband called at 950 am to confirm his reservation, no answer. When he eventually reached the customer service agent, after 10am she was unaware of our reservation. We still needed the truck so my husband asked if we may reserve the one on the lot and headed over to pick it up. We reserved it for 24 hours for a local move and when the owner arrived he was able to locate our origional reservation. He was rushed, in a hurry and seemed like he was not intetested in renting trucks. My husband felt he was putting the owner out by renting the truck and found a complete lack of customer service.
We should have reserved it for longer and would have, had we known we would recieve rude voicemail messages on our home phone, «You haven’t returned the truck yet. «How about a lesson in customer service for Mr. RUDE; try, «Hello, this is Rudy from Uhaul, I noticed you haven’t been able to return the truck yet, please …» and complete with a kind request and phone number where you would like to be reached. Then be a pro active business person and call the customer cell number since we are moving and may not have instant access to our home phone. Do these steps before reporting to your District Manager and charging the credit card more and you may have happier customers.
Then upon returning the truck I asked for $ 50 off, because UHAUL is running a promotion, your online reservation as agreed or $ 50 off, since they couldnt find our reservation I felt we qualified for the discount. Mr. Rude informed me that I was incorrect because the staff member who spoke to my husband and couldnt find our reservation wasnt properly trained. I also informed him that the moving compartment leaked heavily from the right hand side corner near the cab and our furniture had gotten wet from the leak. This also did not quality for the discount offered by UHAUL.
The place gets its one star because Im a Chicago native and Mr. Rudy Rude was wearing a Bears sweatshirt. We will from now on drive out of our way to use any other truck rental brand.
