I love their food. Always tasting great! I happen to be passing by and stopped by to order food. This restaurant was clean and the employees were very friendly. Price is very reasonable for healthy food.

I don’t like to complain about Fish Dish, because when I go in, the staff is almost always very nice. But the last few times I have visited, they have messed up my orders. I order salmon teriyaki, I get chicken teriyaki. I order rice, they are out of rice. They offer fries, but then forget to give me the other fries I ordered and paid for! Very frustrating! And today, when I called to talk to a manager, they told me to call back later because they were busy! Gah! What kind of customer service is that? I understand that you are busy, but at least offer to take a message and call me back! As far as the food goes, I used to really be a fan, but now their fish is often overcooked and the servings are quite small. Very, very disappointed in dinner tonight. Feel like I wasted $ 40.

Salmon charbroiled plate with Cajun seasoning is BOMB! The new salmon bowl is tasty! HECK! Everything here is good! The fire hot sauce is literally like fire ! very healthy here and friendly service. Feelings for some soup? Try the clam chowder, it’s amazing and very generous on the clams.

Ordered online. We ordered the chicken katsu, fish and shrimp, the grilled tilapia and sweet potato fries. The chicken katsu comes w/macaroni salad — which to me tastes a bit to heavy of mayo other than that it was good. The dipping sauce — wow its spicy i was not expectinf that. The chicken did come nice and crispy though and NOT overdone. The fish and shrimp was good as well. It came with fries, which were a little soggy bc of the delivery time. As were the sweet potato fries, however, we all agree if they had arrived fresh out of the fryer they would if been a knock out. As for the tilapia(Lemon) it came with coleslaw. I cannot say much about the dish because the recipient only ate half then let the rest sit in the fridge til it was thrown out. So it was either ok or not good at all. As for my mom and i we will be stopping by and checking out dem fresh fries. Nom nom.

The staff is ultra friendly and this is a convenient place to get some quick fish if parking is readily available. The food itself is not all that great, but for the price and relative convenience if you live in the area it could be worse all things considered. Their fish burritos while nothing mind blowing are decent for a casual dining place. Definitely a notch above say Baja Fresh down the street, but that’s not exactly saying much. The tacos I felt were overpriced and not worth it. Their fish entrees are good if you are looking for a nice change of pace for lunch than say your usual salad or sandwich. However I suspect the fish they use is previously frozen if not thawed not long before given to you especially the fried variety, leaving that distinct freezer taste and rubbery texture. But again for the price you pay that is not unexpected. Not ideal, but not unexpected. I would say though avoid the fried stuff. I ordered basically their version of a fishermen’s platter and it was bland, tasteless and awful. Thank god for their dedicated salsa bar and tartar sauce. Nothing is worse than when you give in to your baser instincts and decide to eat something you shouldn’t. Except when that cheat day or indulge you give into is really unsatisfying and tasteless. You get all the calories and shame but none of the fun! But other than that, if you have a hankering for some fish on the cheap, not a bad place to spend some cash, just don’t get the fried stuff.

Idiots! I am beyond upset right now. I attempted to call in my order at 6:37 and was put on hold. After 7 minutes I hung up and tried calling back. I called 105 times for 40 minutes and no one answered the phone. I went online to place my order and tried to call to see if they got it, well as you guessed it, line was still busy. Eventually I got through and asked if they got my order and the guy said no. I didn’t want to go off on him because I didn’t want something to happen to my food. Long story short, went to pick up the order and it wasn’t ready. The dude admitted and showed me the online order and said that they just didn’t make it, didn’t really give an excuse or answer to why it wasn’t made. I am so pisssssed and hungry right now.

I was really expecting Fish Dish to be better. Service was ok, food came out quickly enough, but the quality does not justify the price at all. We had fried fish and grilles and fried shrimp tacos, pricey at over $ 3 each and tiny. Both the fish and shrimp tasted horrible. They do have a descent salsa bar which helped a bit, but I would not bother to return.

The food had a nice presentation but was lukewarm at best. The soup and entrée were delivered at the same time with only a soup spoon. I paid $ 2.65 for beverage when the customer after me took the same beverage in her water cup. The shrimp was so salty in that the garlic butter used must have been made with salt, butter, salt, garlic, salt. The staff were kind. The fries were perfect and I would have enjoyed them but by the time I was ready to eat them they were cold and disgusting but golden brown. So they looked beautiful but did not taste that way.(When I walked in there were other English second language persons doing the same using –using water cups — free cups for beverages that cost money. Reasons used I don’t drink much /Which one is the water?(It clearly states water. I am just staying a little while). IT Is NOTFAIR. FREEDRINKS for all or none. I paid $ 18.75 and look at my sit down and get up pictures. She paid $ 9(I showed her the water she was NOT wanting water)! and ate every bite of her catfish and enjoyed the strawberry fresco beverages. Will I return. Yes but only for the clam chowder. Garlic bread. The rest was cold and way over priced. Be well all. Owner or manager contact me if you want more info or you want me to be a professional customer for you.

Whoa! Switching it up… So unheard of for me, but I do love fish, so when I was prompted with finding a lunch spot in Sherman Oaks(not familiar with the area) I decided on FISHGRILL… Fish is my FAVORITEFOODEVER and… I also love all things grilled so I mean, OBVIOUSLY this place was calling to me! I love the concept of this place and the restaurant itself was awesome, very well maintained with a nice open layout, where you can watch them cook your fish if you wish to do so… The menu even boasts a wide variety of seafood for a reasonable price… But… If you want to make substitutions or additions, that’s where they get you! It’s an extra $ 1.50 or so to sub in vegetables and/or grilled zucchini and another $ 1.50 or so to add avocado… This place gives EATINGHEALTHY a Bad rap… No wonder people consider healthy eating/fish/vegetables to be pricy, because Fish Dish makes it so! I don’t think they should charge EXTRA to swap out coleslaw… I think they should offer those eating here different side dish options they can choose from, within the initial $ 12.95 price tag(if you order the grilled salmon– prices vary depending on the type of fish you order)… But who am I to tell them what to do… Over all, I didn’t have a bad experience but my $ 18.50 price tag was so NOT worth it… ATALL. My salmon was tasty enough but it obviously came from a frozen package… At least they were generous to give two pieces which seemed to equate to about 7 – 8 ounces worth. The steamed veggies were, exactly what you’d expect… And the zucchini was just fine. Really not life changing at all… If anything when my plate arrived… To when I finished my last bite… I wasn’t all THAT impressed with what I just ate. Oh well, at least I know now. When I walked back to my car(there is a parking lot behind this place with FREEPARKING if you get your ticket validated) I past by another restaurant… And to be honest, I kind of wish we ate there. Hate when that happens!

Food is Mediocre. Service awful 20 mins to get 2 fish tacos & an additional 5 to get my grilled asparagus !! Fish was cold. Tortilla stale & asparagus laden with oil. Salsa bar was dismantled, the employees were goofing off with each other. Phone ringing 5 rings until someone answered. I was the only patron in the restaurant at 503 pm and continued to be thru 5:35 when I left. Will not be rushing back

I have to write this review. People come to chains because chains’ service is generally reliable. I actually like the food here so am occasionally willing to pay the high prices but the staff just FAILED big time. It’s nearly empty! Only one other customer is currently eating. I ordered my 12.31 $ meal at 3:22. After the only other customer(who came in 5 – 10 minutes after me) got her order delivered to her, I went to the young kid at the counter who took my order 26 minutes earlier. He looked at me like he’d seen me somewhere but couldn’t recall where … You’ve been looking in my direction for nearly half an hour after we had a conversation at which time you took my order! The cook looked annoyed with him but no one offered me ANY apology, let alone compensation. Even when he brought it to me at 3:55PM he said NOTHING. No sorry, not even a bon api-fucking-tite! FAIL. I want a coupon for a free meal after this. — — — — - What I ordered … Add rice to the 7.99 white fish special, it starts getting pricey! Much too buttery for my liking(especially bc this is the«cajun sauce» rather than the«lemon and butter») but good though. Hope I don’t have a dairy reaction.

This is a great place for the price. I got Fish Taco’s and they were one of the better ones I have tried in the past. However, I am not a fan of the professionalism of the staff working there. They interact with each other too much and they are distracting. It is very clear that they do not pay attention to the customer as much as they should. I also think that they could get a lot more interesting with their salsa bar. I think that the sauces are lacking and they are off in many ways. The food is good and that is why they got 3 stars.

I got the Grilled Mahi Mahi and it was so good. I loved the seasoning and the fish was moist. A lot of places tend to over cook it. If you’re looking for fish dishes like this with a simple side for a great price, THIS is the place to go! The one thing is that parking sucks since it is on Ventura Blvd. There is metered parking till a certain time(then it’s free), there’s residential, and they do have a lot, but you have to pay. I hope more locations open up!

I go to this spot often. It’s in a plaza on Ventura Blvd next door to The Habit hamburger joint which I also go to. Basically when I need to feed the family without anyone cooking at the house I just park in front of this plaza then make a choice. When I’m feeling ultra cheap it’s the Habit. When I’m feeling a bit more spendy and avoiding red meat it’s Fish Dish. I either get the Mahi Mahi plate or the Halibut plate. The Halibut is the best dish they serve but also the most expensive item here at about $ 20 per dinner. It is super fresh and perfectly prepared– I get the garlic butter sauce. My second favorite plate is the Mahi which is half the price at $ 10 per dinner. Again, it’s high quality fresh fish, does not tastes frozen at all. The fries and cole slaw are also great, and each plate comes with a piece of garlic bread. My kids get the fish tacos. The whole family loves this spot. Very fair prices and much cheaper than that Malibu Seafood chain.
