We went for brunch and they were very accommodating as I had called earlier to make a reservation for inside and they mistakenly wrote outside. When we got there, they moved tables around so that we could sit inside. The coffee was great, crepes and pancakes were delicious and the service was very good. We were so satisfied with breakfast that we didn’t try the pastries. We will have to go back for coffee and pastries.

Been here several times. Food is great, very dog friendly. Service can be hit or miss depending upon the wait staff that day.

Tried Nata’s for the first time tonight. It was pretty good, but to be completely honest, I feel like it’s an over glorified Chinese egg tart. The only difference is the crust being more flakey. At the steep price if $ 2.50 each, I much rather get 4 egg tarts at a dim sum shop. I might go back to try their malasadas, but I will probably not get natas.

I have breakfast here at least once a week. Great food, really friendly staff and fantastic menu. You really know when an owner cares about their business and customers!

My wife, who eats here often, took me to breakfast in May 2016, and we both had a delicious meal. Natas is located on the corner of Ventura Blvd and Fulton Ave. In a corner of a small two story business front. Parking is free in the very small parking lot, there is also metered parking on Ventura Blvd, and free street parking on Fulton Ave. The restaurant is nicely decorated with what looks like to me a light blue French Country provincial décor. It was very relaxing. They offer both indoor dining and outside covered patio dining. The service was excellent, friendly and very attentive. The breakfast was delicious, fresh, and the portion size was generous. Everything both my wife and I ordered was very good. The price was very reasonable for the quality and portion size. Next to the register is a large very tempting pasty display case filled with awesome looking and I’m sure tasting pastries and deserts. I’m looking forward to having breakfast here again, and would recommend this restaurant to all of my family and friends.

I had breakfast delivered to my apartment, the food was very good! I had the American breakfast and the caramel pancakes– very fluffy! Honestly the only reason I’m docking it stars was the delivery was super slow. They told me 30 minutes and it arrived an hour and 30 minutes later, the food had gotten cold and I was starving! Allow a lot of time for delivery.

A friend of mine was visiting Portugal and kept posting pictures of «pasteis de nata» that looked so delicious. Then I remembered there was a Portuguese bakery in the valley. The natas here are so tasty, I can’t imagine that they’d be any better in Portugal. It’s been a couple of weeks since I visited and I’m still thinking about them. Also, their sandwiches are really good and good size portions. I can’t wait to get back there. Kicking myself for throwing away the coupon in the Val-Pak. I didn’t know any better. Now I know. Enjoy!

Natas has a homey cozy atmosphere that’s welcoming upon entering. What greets you first are the display cases of delicious looking pastries and small cakes. As you make your way through the main entrance, there is the dining area that is both romantic and intimate at the same time, but also has casual vibe that can be enjoyed with anyone. The menu is full of breakfast options, sandwiches, specialty dinner platters, and desserts. On this visit I tried the build your own omelet with chicken apple sausage, tomatoes, and mozzarella with a side of rosemary potatoes and their house bread. Yummy! Everything was delicious and lick the plate worthy. Also, I had their house coffee(Lavazzo) which left me with bouncing off the walls energy that was perfect for a hazy Sunday morning.

I Had no idea this place existed. I grew up in Artesia with a with so many other Portuguese then moved to LA, thanks to Unilocal I found this gem and a few others. The gambas à alho is phenomenal, get extra bread.

I love their eclairs. This is my «go to» place, for desert, when I am going somewhere. Fatima, who owns this gem, is extremely nice, and explained every little detail about the menu that I had questions about. I am not happy about the parking situation, but love everything else about this place. I bought a few baked goods, came home callled Natas, and Fatima took her time to explain how long should i put them in the oven for, and at what temperature so that they are warm for the table. Their natas are absolutely amazing! Every Everything is fresh, and not just looks good, but taste good. Also, there is a café here, and thisnplace is extremely popular for linch, brunch, especially for mother’s day. Great place, amazing baked goods, excellent customer service!

Natas is tucked into a small shopping center off of Ventura, and is easy to miss if you’re not looking for it. Upon entering, the staff are exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the display case is loaded with pastries, all of which we’ve had so far are worth your time. Where Natas stumbles a bit is with their extended menu. The menu is quite extensive, containing several all-day breakfast items, as well as salads, sandwiches, crepes, and desserts. The French toast is advertised as the best you’ve ever had, and while it’s good, it’s not topping any of our personal lists. The bread is very thick and very dense, making it difficult for the flavor to permeate all of the bread. The crepes are solid, though there are some glaring omissions when it comes to the savory options. You can choose from several meats, veggies, and cheeses, but none of the cheese options are particularly well-suited to a crêpe. Where’s the emmenthaler? Where’s the gruyère? If I’m going to stuff ham into a crêpe, I’m not going to pair it with mozzarella or ricotta! The sandwiches are perhaps the best value proposition on the menu, but they won’t blow you away. The salad that comes on the plate is incredibly fresh and the dressing is pleasant. The chips are nothing to write home about, however, and their saltiness only augments the biggest problem with their sandwiches: most of them are extremely salty. Maybe that’s because bacon is a common thread in the sandwiches I’ve tried, but it’s a big misstep in my book. All in all, Natas is decent. The bakery items are superb, but the sit-down menu is just so-so. Worth a look.

Had one of their salads to go with chicken breast it was just OK not worth the $ 16 bucks I paid… The chicken tasted gamey blah and the tomatoes tasted like anchovies??? WTH.

I used to come here almost everyday from 2009 – 2011 because I worked right across the street. The bakery is amazing especially their famous natas. I’ve dined in and well as take away for their other dishes on the menu. All are amazing. Well, all of that praise went away until this past Saturday morning. My fiancé wanted to go here for breakfast because he haven’t tried it so we did. The experience turned from awesome to disgusted. He ordered their famous crispy toast bread and found a medium length brown hair cooked in the bread! The waiter and waitress kept looking at my platinum blonde hair as if I put it in there. Well, I definitely did not cook my hair in the bread! I ended up sharing my breakfast sandwich with my finance.

My hubby a and I always try to go to a different café for brunch on weekends. Went to try this place. This café reminded me so much of that place in Belem, Portugal where they sell the famous Natas. The décor and ambiance are really great for brunch. Parking was a challenge but good thing we found one in just few minutes. I had to try their pastries, especially the Natas. My husband and I ordered one and their bread pudding. The Natas were ok. Was not as good as the one from Belem. I would buy again. The bread pudding my husband didn’t like but I did although I would have liked it better if they had caramel or any syrup to go with it or ice cream to make it sweeter. Aside from pastries, we tried their breakfast. I had the crunchy French toast and my hubby had the breakfast sandwich. I didn’t like my toast. I was expecting something better(since I’ve tried something like this at a nearby café that was really good). I thought it was plain and dry despite the cream and syrup that went with it. My hubby’s sandwich was just enough. Taste was not the greatest but not bad. Would I go here again? Yes. But only for pastries. I’d stick to my usual cafes for brunch.

Get in MAHBELLYNOW! is what my stomach says whenever I speak the name Natas Pastries. I’m not sure how anyone can NOT like the baked goods here. I’ve had Portuguese baked goods, but this place does it to near perfection. The must order here is the egg custard Natas, you can also dress it up with some cinnamon if you’d like some extra oomph! So the pastries here would already warrant a 5 star review, but not only do they nail the food, they nail the service aspect of things. Granted, I did make a to-go order, the staff was extremely nice in explaining all of their pastries and seemed very well informed. And if good service isn’t your thing, what about free samples?! Yes, they have samples of some of their top sellers right next to the cash register. DINGDINGDING!!! We have a winner! This place easily gets placed in one of my all time favorite bakeries, and a must go-to if you’re in the Sherman Oaks area. It’s a little hard to find this bakery from the road and is a little hidden but that makes it all the more special to me. I brought some on a hike and they made the perfect snacks once I reached the top of the trail.

I finally got to try this place in between two wedding coordinator appointments. The place is small and I feel like the parking lot is a lot smaller. Luckily it was Black Friday and everyone was at the mall shopping. To be honest, I’d rather be here eating. I had a savory crêpe with linguica, ricotta, and chicken sausage. Weird combo, right? Nooooo! Absolutely not! The crêpe was flavorful and a little sweet which complemented the ricotta, but the linguica and the chicken sausage gave the crêpe that savory flavor. For the savory crêpe order, you can choose any 3 ingredients from a pretty extensive list of ingredients. I would definitely come here again if the parking situation was a little better. I’m a fan of this place. I thought the crêpe I got was perfectly priced. I actually thought it was going to be a little more expensive because of the area. Oh and of course the service was awesome! Although it did take us a while to get seated, but after that, it was smooth sailing from there.

I came here for the natas, which are egg tarts. Yes, I agree these egg tarts are really good but pretty pricey for such a small treat. $ 2.25 isn’t much, but other bakeries sell them for cheaper. The bolo de Berlin wasn’t very good. The dough was dry and the custard was okay.

I ordered some catering from this place for a lunch meeting. The menu has a great selection but the food did not look appetizing at all. I ordered a caprese sandwich, which is pretty hard to mess up, and I couldn’t even eat it. It tasted way off! My friend also barely ate any of her food. None of it seemed to come out decent at all :/I also ordered a hummus platter and the hummus came in a teeeeeny ketchup packet-sized cup, which is hardly enough for one person! It was about 20 minutes late too, which disappointed.

LET’S MEETUP! Nearly 10 years ago, Fatima Marques, a native of Lisbon, Portugal, searched Los Angeles for pasteis de nata, the most famous of Portuguese pastries. She discovered a void in the city’s culinary landscape and true inspiration for a specialty pastry shop. On June 10, 2005, Fatima celebrated the grand opening of Natas Pastries, the only Portuguese bakery in L.A. Named after its signature pastry, nata, means cream, has an exceptionally crisp puff pastry shell that is perfectly balanced by a custard filling resembling crème brûlée .The shop quickly became the talk of the Los Angeles Portuguese community and a neighborhood favorite on Ventura Blvd. In 2010 Natas Pastries expanded to a full service restaurant by creating a dining area serving breakfast, lunch and dinner. The bistro-style dishes flaunt the flavors of the Portuguese traditions. Start the day with a pastry and a bica, espresso shot, or French toast on Portuguese Sweet Bread or a Scramble with ChouriÇo. STATS: Monday-Sunday 8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. Limited parking in rear Metered street parking Indoor/mostly outdoor covered seating EXPERIENCE: Drooled over some pastry pics a fellow Unilocaler posted so I instigated a meet up. We ended up enjoying some nourishment before indulging in the tasty pasties Natas offers. I ordered Sandes de Chourico e Queijo, prepared with Grilled Portuguese Sausages/Chouriços, grilled Onions, Tomatoes and melted Cheese(hold the tomato). Fellow Unilocaler ordered Chicken Piri Piri. Prepared with Grilled Chicken Breast with Piri-Piri Aioli Sauce, roasted Bell Peppers and melted meunster Cheese. Thankfully the sammies were cut in half as they were quite large and it made for the perfect way to share our sammies with each other. Anywhoo, although the sausage was packed with a large number of good mild spices the grilled onions pushed the overall experience over the ledge. I didn’t nom nom on Fellow Unilocalers shared half until the next day for lunch so I don’t feel I can give an accurate review. I can say that if the flavors it had the next day were anywhere near what they were like the previous day, It’s definitely worth ordering next time. Our dessert was comprised of Warm Nata with powdered sugar, Pyramid Brownie, and Natas with cinnamon and powdered sugar(pic«borrowed» from fellow Unilocaler). Not certain if it was because it was the remainder of the day, or if it’s just me, but the brownie was lacking in rich chocolate flavor and was a bit on the dry side. The Nata with powdered sugar was an improvement over the brownie, perhaps the warmth helped in that area. Finally, the Natas with cinnamon and powdered sugar was ok, a couple more sprinkle more of cinnamon might have boosted the experience. Even fellow Unilocaler who raved about his place previous was a little disappointed on this sojourn. Guess we’ll just have to go back again. Our server, as well as the owner was very attentive, checking on us at the right times and kept our beverage glasses full. Always added bonus/star when the owner chats with their patrons.
