No, I’m sorry, I just can’t. It just wasn’t a good experience. When it literally takes me 30 minutes to get a diet coke, I start to get worried. I kind of think they just put us in the corner of the restaurant and then forgot about us. Couldn’t even make up for it with the food because… well…the food just wasn’t any good. I ate bits and pieces of it and then didn’t even ask for a box to take it home. It was all just so plain. Definitely needed salt or SOMETHING. It was honestly as if someone just kinda gave up. Really disappointing.

Have not been here in many years. This dinner was absolutely wonderful. I had the 2 Pork Chop plate and they were DELICIOUS. Thick, breaded and cooked to perfection. Request the Country Gravy to accompany them and it is a down home experience. My friend had a walnut chicken dish and ate very bite.

We recently went to Valley Inn for an annual dinner we do with family. We had a cute private room in the back and our waiter was Marc. He was very attentive and brought us everything we needed. Our steaks were all cooked to perfection and we were happy with our appetizers. The Bruschetta was awesome as was the garlic sourdough cheese toast. We will do dinner there again. Also, great wine selections!!!

Visited this place for the first time tonight. The wedge salad was AMAZING. I also got the big portion of the prime rib with mashed potato which was also AMAZING. The calamari was just okay nothing too special. Then for desert we got the Sunday which I wasn’t too crazy for. But overall a very nice romantic restaurant. Service was good as well. I’ll come here again

We went to this restaurant for our anniversary and or very pleased with the customer service and food! The waiter was really friendly and nice. The hostess went out of her way to help me with my 2 year old who was not cooperating during our dinner. The hostess took my child and occupied while I was enjoying a quieter dinner time with my husband and 14 year old. I think that that is excellent service! Ask for the food, my New York strip steak was very juicy. We will definitely return here again. Thank you Valley Inn for making our experience a delightful one!

When I moved into this area I was happy to see a comfy«old school» establishment. I love The Smoke House and hoped this was similar. All I can say is, there is a reason this place was nearly empty on the dozen or so times I’ve given it a shot while the Smoke House is always packed. On my most recent visit last week(I keep going because it’s 2 blocks away and I am remodeling the kitchen and keep hoping for a pleasant surprise) I ordered the«special roast chicken» that the menu makes a bit of a to do about and cautions it takes 45 minutes to produce this Chicken lovers delight. I was expecting a half a roasted perfectly seasoned chicken. What I got after the long wait was 4 or 5 little«assorted chicken parts» like you buy in a tray at Costco, which had had some commercial seasoning shaken on them. Beside that there were some grey, totally overcooked green beans and some garlic mashed potatoes.(which were ok) All of our other meals there have been on a par with this one. I can safely say I’ve had it with this place. I SO wish it was better — We’d be there weekly. It’s probably good for old folks with no taste buds.

We both ordered the $ 16 chicken dinner, we ordered one plate of fried chicken and one of roasted chicken, both with mashed potatoes and veggies. Each plate also came with a glass of champagne. The dinner was delicious and the décor was great with dim lighting and and an attentive staff. The owners were so great making sure our needs were met. If I could change one thing it would be that there was a more diverse and multi cultural atmosphere. From the looks of it we were the only minorities in the place.

Great service, friendly folks. And caters to a wide variety from elders and families to date night meals. Enjoyed a chopped kitchen sink salad and a nice Manhattan. I appreciate that the waiter Mark let me finish it before he ordered the salad. Finished up with a free Unilocal sundae coffee and B&B. Cozy, intimate, I’d return. Great coffee too.

I have been dragged to this place by dinosaur colleagues for the last four years over countless dinners, and without fail this place never fails to disappoint! Firstly upon entering the lobby and bar area both smell of urine, I’m not sure what it is but it makes me want to puke every time. To my amazement the locals and regulars crowd the little bar apparently oblivious to the stench! Next, there is a very nice and friendly owner who while very very affable has completely checked out in terms of the quality of the food his restaurant is putting out… he will seat you with a smile on his face! The servers seem like indentured servant to what must be a very spoiled kitchen staff, if the clock ticks past one minute near their clean up time they will not make you what you order even though they just sat you for dinner. Tonight I asked the chef to recommend is best meal from the kitchen hoping this would be a good defense, mistake again! They recommended prime rib was just on the moist side of jerky and not been seasoned whatsoever! The au jus was lukewarm and merely bouillon beef stock basically brown salt water. The horse radish both straight and creamy are well past their prime at rather flat. The Sandabs my friend had were indescribably bad. The accompanying salad was a token gesture it was a scanned half cup to a cup… the vegetables that accompanied our dinner were also unbelievably completely devoid of any seasoning. Again I would never eat here if I had to choose but I am consistently dragged here by colleagues… what I can’t help but wonder is if this is on the back end of a nursing home or is a standalone restaurant, jury still out… Eat somewhere else, nominate this place for a restaurant rescue, and feel bad for the people who like to eat here, they are clearly lacking in their lives :(

Oh the Valley Inn. It is definitely a must do on the list of valley institutions! The food is above average however for the price think Polo Lounge. The filet is $ 36 and while prime meat– it could be a $ 28 steak all things considered. Our waiter was prompt and polite. Just don’t know if the whole experience was $ 175 worth(plus tip on that) for 3 people. I understand the burgers are good but have only eaten steak here.

Every Time we go by the Valley Inn, the food and services is great. It has that old school feel and they treat us like we are regulars, each and every time we come by. «LOVEIT» I personally have had the Lamb Chops, Prime Rib, Pot Roast and Ribeye. Hard to chose witch is the best. Rolls, salads and«OMG» the baked potatoes are amazing. Nice selection of red wines, thats really only wine I drink and the Martinis are defiantly top shelf. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do. «THANKSVALLEYINN»

This place is a legit old school steak house. I love the moody ambiance and round booths. The staff is friendly and seemed to know quite a few of the patrons by first name. I ordered the walnut crushed chicken with mustard sauce and it was to die for. The chicken was incredibly moist and the flavors were unexpectedly powerful. My husband ordered the Prime Rib and couldn’t believe how tender and perfectly cooked it was(Medium Rare is how he ordered it). I’m looking forward to going back and trying more … Including the side dishes.

Flat out… this place is a San Fernando Valley institution. This is my go to spot when I have a hankering for meat, potatoes and the best garlic bread around. The owners are always so very warm and welcoming and make me feel right at home. All the steaks are delicious, but the Prime Rib is what sets this place apart. Always cooked to the perfect Medium-rare, with spicy creamed horseradish, and a side of mushroom tops or creamed corn, you can’t go wrong. I’m so glad there are still places like the Valley Inn I can go to and feel like I’ve been transported to a time where life was simpler and food was straightforward and delicious. Can’t wait to go back…

I so wish I had written this review months ago like I meant to! There were some pacific things I wanted to mention that now I don’t remember. The atmosphere feels old school with big comfy booths and low decorative ceilings. Very cozy and romantic. The waitress brought us some delicious soup that we weren’t expecting. I guess it came with our steaks? It wasn’t listed as something included though so who knows. The garlic bread was soo yummy– don’t know why there are some complaints about it. I think there were some sides that weren’t listed online what they actually had— don’t remember specifically though but remember seeing somethings on the menu that I didn’t see online. The steak was fantastic! Our waitress was nice enough– also kind of an old school lady. However, when we got the check, we gave her a gift card for $ 100, and since our meal was a little over that, we gave her a debit card to cover the rest of the cost. She ended up assuming we wanted the meal split equally on both card– why, I don’t know. She come back to us flustered and apologetic and gave us three different receipts, all which was confusing. Then she sort of blamed my husband for not telling her what to do with the cards, when really, using a gift card is sort of common sense. Wasn’t the best way to end the meal, but she was overall a fine server and the food was GREAT

Over twenty-five years plus, I’ve probably had fifteen meals at Valley Inn. It looks much like it did when I first walked into it. Old school dinner house feel… or if you’re from the Midwest, a supper club feel about it. Lots of wood, Naugahyde leather booths, and a bar that couldn’t be more than 400 square feet that maybe seats(comfortably) ten or twelve people. If you arrive during a busy hour, you’ll probably not be able to get a seat at this bar. The standing room is too cramped for more than a few people if the bar is full. The latest menu is replete with choices of steak, prime rib, chops, duck, and seafood. My latest meal was with a group of ten folks. Duck, prime rib and steaks were eaten. Everyone seemed to enjoy their meal; no one carped. I chose the«Sand Dab» dinner; it is honestly the only place I’ve seen it on a menu in many years; i.e., restaurants stopped serving it for some reason. It was lightly coated and pan sautéed, I believe. It was very good. It was preceded by their house salad. The meal was served with veggies that tasted like they came out of a frozen food service bag. We were promised a mix of carrots and string beans. I received just string beans. Some of the comments were a bit of surprise at the high prices of some of the entrees. For sure, the meat prices were, from memory, quite a bit higher than they were a short while ago. Service: This is where it is hit and miss. The wait and bus service at the restaurant has a bit to be desired. All the folks here are really nice, but they all could use some strong training from a professional service trainer. The owners are nice folks, too, but service is definitely not their strong suit. Parking can be a challenge, here. Though there is metered street parking, it gets filled quickly and then you must scour the nearby residential neighborhood for a parking place. And don’t forget, the parking meters in L.A. now have to be fed until 8PM!
