Ponderosa Ridge Resort & RV

This is the first time in my life that I ever LEFT a place without staying the night because it was too terrible. I actually rented a hotel via hotwire and drove to Redding in order to have a normal nights sleep. First off, I rented the «cabin» with the bathroom. This is NOT a cabin. It’s a SINGLE WIDE MOBILE HOME with SHARED tenants. That’s right — there is someone LIVING in the same mobile home with a door that separates the two living areas. It has about an INCH of wide open space under the door and you can hear everything between the two rooms. The current residents turned off the lights and peaked through the windows as we approached.
But that’s not the bad stuff. The bed was at a 45 degree angle with the head shifting downwards. When my wife sat on the bed (even after I told her not to) the bed collapsed slightly, causing me to look under it and notice two inches of DIRT under the bed. That’s what pushed me over the edge — if they cant clean under the bed when was the last time they cleaned the bedding? Since it was 1970’s bedding that was rather warn out I assumed not recently.
Bottom line was within 10 minutes we purchased a new hotel room (thank god for the one bar of 3 g reception) and left. Hopefully no bed bugs followed us. I simply could not stay in a filthy mobile home like this. Wooden cabins (like is shown on the pictures) it is not! Stay far away unless you are bringing your own motor home…
P. S. I wanted to demand a refund but didn’t want to hassle with it — they obviously need the money!!!
P. P. S. They claim they have satellite TV — my wife tried to watch it while I looked for a new hotel and they didn’t pay their bills so no satellite. Ugh.
