Bens Bakery

Ben’s Bakery is awesome! The staff are always nice and the baked goods are always fresh. I especially love going in there after an afternoon of shopping in all of the places nearby. There are other bakeries in the area but this is the only one I can rely on to be the best every single time. Their fried pie is out of this world good and always deliciously gooey and great. I have had other fried pie before but theirs is top notch. My whole family loves this place and being from out of town just makes it that much more of a treat when we are in the area. It doesn’t hurt that they sell to other locations in the area so if one place is out of their yummy goodies, I can usually find them somewhere else but the bakery itself is usually my first stop in Shipshewana.

This is a most amazing bakery. I bought an assortment of fried pies and several apple fritters to share. Everyone absolutely raved about all the different flavors of pies.
I consider myself an expert on the subject of apple fritters. These were seriously the best I have ever had. In my life. They were moist and full of diced apples and perfectly glazed.
If I lived in Shipshewana I would visit Ben’s on a daily basis. I would save all my «splurge» calories for fritters and fried pies.

Awesome fried pies! Also got the bacon, cheese, garlic loaf. Pies are crispy on the outside and the fillings so tasty! Large too. The special at this timers 3 pies for. $ 5 so we got the raspberry, blackberry and strawberry-​rhubarb. Amish owned, nice folks
