This is a decent restaurant for Korean-Chinese food — specifically, spicy seafood noodle soup(jjampong) and noodles in black bean sauce(jajjangmyun). They do have hand pulled noodles(or at least homemade noodles, however they are made), which is a plus. The jjampong broth is still not the rich, seafood broth of my dreams, but it’s ok given the local competition. Our whole family loves the shrimp kampoongi, which is fried shrimp in a sweet and spicy sauce. We ask for it with the sauce on the side so the shrimp doesn’t get soggy, and it works out for everyone, since the younger kids don’t enjoy the sauce. Last time, we had to order a second order of this shrimp dish. Another favorite is their sliced pigs feet with a spicy chili sauce over it. VERY generous portion and delicious. This is the main reason I return. The ambiance of the restaurant is lacking — kind of dingy and dim. And it’s located right next to a cannabis shop, for people who care about that sort of thing(we don’t). The staff was pretty friendly, and since it wasn’t busy, service was good.

Completely underwhelmed. Stopped here around 3pm on a Sunday, and the service was fine, no complaints there. We were the only customers and our food was out fairly quick. However, the food was entirely lackluster. It’s your standard Americanized Chinese restaurant, but we felt all of the flavors were lacking and the portions left much to be desired. We ordered the Cantonese dinner for 2 which included egg flower soup, bbq pork/gyoza/“crab pot” appetizers and fried rice, sweet and sour chicken and imperial beef. We received exactly 2 of each appetizer(one for each of us) and the crab pots had literally nothing but cream cheese inside(not even fake crab) so I don’t understand why Nara is calling them a crab pot and not just cream cheese wontons. Fried rice and sweet and sour chicken tasted as expected but in small portions than I consider average for this style restaurant and price, but the imperial beef was unpleasant. The flavor was really weak, and we received mostly vegetables and only a few slices of extra chewy beef. I would probably not return to Nara because our meal was not worth the 35 $ it cost.

Décor inside is a bit unpleasant and is next to a marijuana dispensory store. The regular chinese menu items I’m sure are a good value for quick bite to eat for for people looking to get it TO-GO, but I would not come here for sit down dine in as the korean menu items were not authentic. Had the Tang Soo Yook which is a korean version of sweet and sour pork but it looked more like Panda Express’s version.

ENJOYYOURNEGATIVERATENARA! This is my FIRST post, and the WORST experience EVER. If I could give negative rate I WILL! 30mins wait of only 4 things that we ordered. This is the worst food ever, the FOODISNOTWHATTHEMENUSAID. So my experience was I ordered the Korean style Chinese food: 13)炒肉飲 which mean: fried meat rice and ITISREALAROUNDARE3% MEAT and 97% OFVEGETABLES. I ALSO ordered something called like squid with rice, and I am sure that there is no rice in there NOTEVENONE. My friend ordered the fried noodles and The Restaurant come up with the noodle soup. ALSO the staff are BAD, when we check, they just said that is how we do(fried meat rice) with such a «SOWHAT» VOICE and performing bad services overall. I WILLNEVERGOBACKTOTHISNEGATIVERATERESTAURANTANYMORE. Highly recommend to read this BEFORE you get in. ENJOYYOURNEGATIVERATENARAAGAIN!

Of all the Korean/Chinese restaurants that I’ve been too, this place is my favorite. I usually order a combination of the following: jajangmyeon, spicy chicken wings, sweet & sour beef and the jellyfish. I dont know of any other place that has the jellyfish so that’s why it’s my favorite. I tend to go on a Monday or Tuesday right when they open at 5pm so everything tends to come out a little slow hence the 4 star rating. S’all good though. The people there are nice, the place is clean and the food is great! I hear they’re open till 2pm so I will have to keep that in mind when Im out late looking for a place to eat =)

I love how they are open till 2 am. I always order the pic trotters with special spicy sauce and the chinese dish called Ryu San Sul. They are sooo good you should try it. I do not find other dishes delicious but these two are amazing. Especially If you are a Korean I highly recommend these dishes.

My family and I go to Nara when we can’t agree on a place to eat. It’s one that keeps everyone relatively happy. My kiddo loves the beef teriyaki. I’ve eaten it as well and agree that it is marinated well and the portion is large. The mongolian beef and szechuan beef are good but has no heat. I’ve asked them to spice it up before to no avail. The chow mein noodles are a bit on the slimey side. The mu shu pancakes are delightful and the hot sour soup is very flavorful. The pork fried rice is a good portion but the texture of the rice and quality of the veggies leaves me disappointed. The staff members are very nice. I always encounter the same lady and she’s attentive and kind. I appreciate seeing her smiling face when I come in. There’s plenty of parking available and the restaurant is rarely busy during the day.

Great find! This place is open until 2am which is perfect for someone like me who works late! The staff is always so nice and friendly and they say thank you which I didn’t even realize was surprising, most places just say«ok bye» and hang up once you order! The food is fine and the prices are great. I took one star because as someone who loooooves salty food, sometimes they have me thinking«maybe they should ease up on the salt a bit»

All I have to say is cold pig’s feet! Spicy and delicious! If you’re not that adventurous, their beef noodle soup is pretty tasty as well. I’ve been here a few times and I think their other dishes are pretty mediocre, but the PIGFEET is oh so yummy!

Open till 2am! Great for food lovers. Get jokbal(pork feet), kkanpoonggi(chicken wings) and a side order of jjambbong broth. Those are the best combination here! Owners are very kind. I come here for the people.

Pretty okay place. Food was alright. My other half ordered the beef broccoli and the broccoli had a weird taste to it. Waitor on duty didn’t bother to check how we were from time to time. Water was empty till we were about to leave. Don’t think I’ll be back. I’d rather drive to Northgate to get Panda Express.

The food is bland. Like a salt and pepper piece of packing peanut. I’ve had better Chinese food at safeways after hours discount section. For real… This place is gross. Only reason I went was because it was open late

Best ja jang myun. Fried rice is good. And jam pong is yummy too. their seou kampong(shrimp with spicy and sweet sauce) isn’t as good as other places but good. Kampong gi is much better tho.

I love the fact that they open till late. We will definitely come back again for some chinese-korean food run. They serve soju too and sake too from what i remember. We got the Mu Shu chicken and an order of the black bean sauce noodles amd they were both delicious. We also ordered a bottle of Chum Churum soju(lovin’ the kind of booze feeling it gives)… We will definitely come back again!

I’ve only been here a couple times, but that is in the same week, mind you! I’ve been looking for good black bean noodle sauce in the area and this place satisfied the craving! They even have the combo bowls so you can get your favorite side dish! The atmosphere is welcoming and spacious and they already have a large table ready for large parties. They’re also open until 2am every night which is rare!

Late night craving for Chinese food? This was the only place open when we were on our way home from a Sounders match. At first I thought it would probably be bad since the place was dead and super quiet. But I really liked Nara. The waitress was the nicest girl and we had a great meal for reasonable prices. I’d definitely go again.

this is a chinese-korean restaurant. we were told that the korean menu had a K-fried chicken so off we went to try the kfc. «fried chicken»: not recommended. the chicken was disappointing to say the least. it was naked chicken deep fried in oil with a touch of 5 spice flavor, rather than the battered twice fried korean chicken. this chicken reminded me of deep fried turkey but poorly executed. it was over cooked and dry and tough. the leftover the following day was inedible. the chicken had hardened to greasy yet dry cardboard. maybe the chicken was chinese style and was placed in the korean menu by mistake? the seafood noodle soup off the korean menu was merely meh. i did like the noodles in the soup. the jajamyung was the only decent dish. my friend who is of korean heritage said she would return to eat this noodle dish. very disappointing. the waiter was very polite and tried to be helpful explaining the dishes to us.

Don’t judge them by their exterior, they aren’t as divey as they appear. Open late and slinging Korean-style Chinese food that won’t break the bank. Win! I highly recommend their sesame chicken and their stir-fried water chestnuts + snow peas. My husband and I always think we’ll get something else but end up defaulting to our two favourite dishes. The sesame chicken isn’t blanketed in batter, instead it has the lightest coating of flour before stir-fried to perfection. The water chestnuts and snow peas are crisp and a refreshing vegetarian delight! A friend of ours ordered their almond chicken once, to my dismay. I’m not a fan of battered fried chicken covered in that lackluster gravy. When his dish arrived, it was different than I expected. Small pieces of chicken with vegetables and slivers of almond. We’ve ordered it since then and liked it every time. Their combination plates are also big enough for two folks to split if you order an appetizer along with them. If there’s three or four folks at the table, splurge on the appetizer sampler with open flame! It’s the old school Pu Pu platter with crab rangoon, fried dumplings, egg rolls, BBQ pork slices, chicken wings, and pork + pineapple skewers. I have a fondness for those cheap egg rolls and thankfully my husband lets me have both! I’ve never been during the day. We love going late at night, when the place teems with twenty-somethings. K-pop music videos play on both televisions and sometimes impromptu singalongs break out in the kitchen. Parking is plentiful and we’ve never had a problem finding a spot.
