A Stone’s Throw Cafe’ & Catering

This is a simple and classic diner style restaurant open for breakfast and lunch located in the terminal building at the Shreveport DOWNTOWN airport. I fly in and out of this airport frequently and I always make a point to skip the hotel breakfast so I can eat here as it is my favourite breakfast spot anywhere. It’s not high dinning for sure, just classic diner food done well at classic diner prices. The Breakfast Special is all I ever get. Hah, I’ve never even looked at their menu but I’m sure they do other things well too. If you’re local, give this place a shot and I’ll bet you won’t regret it. Sit by the window and watch the small planes come and go or sit at the bar and chat with the other patrons and the waitress.

This is the coolest place in ALL of Shreveport-​Bossier to eat breakfast on a Saturday morning! I almost don’t want to write it up, just to keep it all to myself and those in the know, but I can’t help it! This place is just too great and too cool! I’m going to even take it a step further and really blow the lid off this place: ATTENTION ALL LOCATION SCOUTS FOR THE MOVIE INDUSTRY! If you are looking for a really cool, timeless place to shoot a scene of a meet-​up of some sort, or a lunch or breakfast, this is the place! So cool! Very «Mad Men-​esque!» The Director would totally dig! And I really hate to say this, because it might kill the scat-​cat, Elmore Leonard/​James Ellroy vibe of this place, but I really think little kids would love it too, especially those that love airplanes! There! I’ve gone and done it now! This place is probably going to turn into Chuck E. Cheese! Ugh! But the truth is, this place is awesome! Too awesome to keep tucked away all to myself and the few others that know about it! They have a delicious $ 2.99 breakfast special, daily until 10am: It includes 2 eggs anyway you want ‘em, 2 strips of bacon, toast (white or wheat) and hash browns, again, all for only $ 2.99 plus tax and tip! You can sit there, eat your delicious and deliciously cheap breakfast and watch small aircraft ascend and descend upon this small local airport. It is truly a wonderful sight, inside and outside this place. This is the small downtown airport, not to be confused with the much larger, much busier, more commercial Shreveport Regional Airport. To get to the downtown airport, go through downtown on Clyde Fant Parkway, past Sam’s Town Casino, stay in the right lane, out of main downtown area, and within minutes you will see the airport on the right hand side of the road, with the Gateway Tire main office across the street on the left. As you face the airport, the restaurant is located on the far-​end on the right side of the building. This restaurant is also a great place to dine, if you work in the downtown Shreveport area. It’s just minutes away! You will love your breakfast, the cost of it, and the experience in dining at this fine, unique establishment! They also serve delicious lunches and desserts. They serve creamer in tiny, clear, glass thimbles when you order their yummy coffee… It’s very cool and very hip… It is no longer my little secret. The secret is now out!
