This place is amazing. Shreveport isn’t exactly a mecca for Asian products so this place was a very pleasant surprise. The staff is friendly and helpful. There is a lot of stuff tucked into chest freezers so make sure you look in those for some of the products that you might need. The one downside is that it is a little bit of a drive, however it is well worth it. I hope they stick around for a LONG time.

They have a good selection of Asian foods. You can find a variety of fruits and vegetables that you wouldn’t find at your usual American grocer. Everything is overpriced! Even the can drinks! But I’m somewhat not surprised. I really should have stocked up on some goodies before I left Los Angeles :(

This is THE complete Asian food store(supermarket) in Shreveport –Bossier City. Used to have to drive to New Orleans for complete Asian supplies(actually had business there and just stocked up while in town). My wife and I eat/cook a lot of Asian cuisine and this place has 95% of what we need. Vegetables are fresh. Can find some cheaper at major supermarkets, but all in all, this place is great! Wide range of all Southeastern Asian supplies.

We checked out this Asian mart, and we were glad to see it here servicing Shreveport-Bossier City Asian food needs. The store is fairly large, and they have a lot of authentic Asian food supplies, and a fair amount of frozen fish, poultry, and other products. You can also buy a variety of Asian rice brands and veggies. A lot of their frozen products are tucked away in large freezers and refrigerators, so you have to look for these. There’s not much in the way of fresh seafood, but they do sell live crabs on Tuesdays I’m told. I’m guessing the local demand for fresh seafood isn’t there. Pricing is higher than what we’ve seen around Chicagoland but that’s to be expected. Lots of parking here too — a nice change from Chicagoland also. They’ve been in business for 4 years, and we hope many more.

I know what you are thinking, what is a black guy doing reviewing an Asian market but this place as told earlier and with few exceptions is just about the biggest source for Asia in the area. Without this store there would be a serious void and really for no good reason unless you like the drive to Houston. As Danny said, you have to ask for the fresh fish, veggies days but they do have items for many cultures(Filipino, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese) not just China. If there is a better store with more selection in town I don’t know of it.

Update: Quality has gone down at this store. They need to clean up a little better and found some expired food. One of the few Asian stores you’ll find in Sheveport/Bossier area. Kinda pricey but I guess they can charge you as much as they want because they are the only place I know of here that carry those items. They have a variety of fresh fruits and vegtables that the normal grocery stores don’t have. The only catch is you have to come on certain days, plus some things are seasonal. They have fresh fish, again it depends on the day. One of the individuals that worked there told me usually they get their fresh seafood in Weds and Thurs. They have everything you need to make your favorite asian dish… not just your every day ramen noodle shop. The best part about this store is that you can request items.
