We never dined in here so I cannot comment on the service or the décor of the restaurant. However, my takeout was always ready on time. The front desk staff was friendly and helpful. The place always smelled like flowers which added a very nice touch. My most favorite dishes here are: — Hot & crispy beef — Sweet & sour chicken — Chicken fried rice Both were always prepared well and tasted amazing. All in all, this is my favorite Chinese food place in Shreveport/Bossier area.

Some friends and I arrived at Chengs after encountering dismal service at another restaurant(hint: starts with an ‘S’ and ends with a ‘hogun’.) The sushi was surprisingly good with a nice girth to the rolls and generous amount of fish and avocado. A friend ordered a more traditional Chinese dish and claimed that it too was good-although lacking the complexity of a similar dish from Ming Garden. The only negative and hence the reason for only 4 stars is that we came specifically for my friend to try their vegetarian eggplant dish but either they were out of eggplant or they had discontinued it. The waitress was very nice but spoke limited English. She brought in a guy with better English skills but I recall still being confused as to why the dish was not available. Anyway, everyone left happy and sated.

I have ordered take out from here a few times and enjoyed the experience. The décor inside of the place is nice and it is a nice atmoshpere. I drive by on my way home sometimes and they always have signs displaying the daily specials. I tried the orange chicken and beef lo mein. This biggest complaint I have about this place is the price. It is very pricey for the amount of food you get. Usually with chinese food you pay a decent amount for a larger amount of food. However, with few takeout chinese resteraunts in the area, I guess it is a luxury they have to raise the price. The lo mein was very good and the chicken was good, but not the best I have tasted. Overall, the atmosphere is nice and the food is good(I am not sure about the service since I have only ever ordered takeout). I would definitely visit here more often, but the prices keep me away.

They have some of the best steamed/fried dumplings in S’Port-Bossier. Their servers and staff are very friendly and the hostess(es) can be seen walking the restaurant floor to check on any tables that may have been missed. There is no buffet here, but I would rather wait for quality food rather than have mediocre food sitting in wait should I decide to wander within grabbing distance.

We’ve loved coming here since they did away with the buffet. A party of five of us went in Wednesday and by Friday we were all extremely ill. Not sure if it was food poisoning or what, but we probably will not be returning for a very long time. The quality of the meal was less than I have previously had; there was far too much pepper on our steak and the crispy beef was cold. Not as tasty as we’ve had before.

I’m puzzled as to why this isn’t a more popular restaurant. It’s first class all the way. Great food, great service, amazingly friendly and helpful staff. Really, really nice people. I’ve had nothing but top notch experiences every time I’ve gone. I’m actually sort of glad a lot of people don’t know about this hidden gem. I can go there to eat on a Friday night and not have to wait!

Chinese food in Shreveport couldn’t get any better. We stopped in after driving around on Christmas Day when no other place was open but Waffle House. Had a great meal with amazing service and ice cold beer. Still felt full and satisfied 45 minutes after eating which is a success when it comes to Chinese food. Only problem was the conflicting décor– it looked like a dragon was going to eat Baby Jesus outta the manger(JK – the décor was great an the place is very, very clean). Pro tip: if choosing between Waffle House and Cheng’s Garden, or really anywhere in Shreveport, go with Cheng’s. Ask for Lisa.

I have to agree with a previous Unilocaler… I was expecting yet another Chinese buffet and instead found a nice and clean restaurant. Food was in par with Chinese restaurants in other major cities, a nice surprise in Shreveport.

Their sushi is amazing! I always get the Geisha Roll and it hits the spot every time. The sushi plate set up is always very pretty, and includes a flower garnish. My husband likes the chinese lunch specials, as it is considerably cheaper than regular price, and he gets the General Tso’s chicken, which is also delicious. The atmosphere is clean and the layout is more upscale feeling, which I like. Every time I go, it’s quiet and relaxed, not loud talking and kids running around. The staff are friendly, respectful, and make sure you have everything you need, without pestering you at the same time.

Both dishes, General tso chicken and the beef and broccoli were excellent. The fried rice and white rice were good. I wish the bowls were bigger or that you could get one rice refill for free. I always run out of rice before I run out of meat. The portions at dinner were big. The service was good. I really have no complaints.

Great food and ambiance! Absolutely the best sushi in the area. The food looks as delicious as it tastes. The staff is great, and the restaurant also has a private room should you want to reserve it for a private dinner. Don’t hesitate, just try them! I wish they could bring back 20% discount on their specialty rolls again!

Awesome Chinese food! Had the general tso’s and beef and broccoli. Lunch menu is a great deal. Also the sushi is amazing! Some of the best Ive had. Crunch roll was hands down the best ever. Totally recommend this restaurant. And their happy hour, 4 – 7, had some deals you just can’t beat. Nice and stocked bar area. Surprising and delightful! Service was great too!

Could be so much more. Let me start by saying, the name is a concern, including the sign itself. It screams Chinese buffet and not a Chinese/Japanese sushi bar establishment. While I have eaten here a few times(close to office) it definitely took me a while as I was under the impression that is exactly what it was. The location is immaculate, very well designed, clean and honestly quite beautiful of décor inside, some serious investment went here. Service is on par with what you would expect, very friendly, fast and detail oriented, no issues here. Food, and while I predominately eat the sushi(Lunch combo, 3 rolls, soup/salad) is so-so. Sushi being my main issue as it’s extremely bland, rice is very dry and even with the sauces it packs no punch. Presentation is fine, however can see on picture some attention to detail is missing, shrimp still had the«vein» attached, clearly visible and could taste it. Prices for rolls(outside regular ones included in combo) are a bit on the high side for what you get and how small compared to most the portions are versus other establishment. Honestly, I wouldn’t suggest it unless your eating the specials or the Chinese side of the menu. It’s far from bad but simply not worth it. I think with a smarter name change and some better quality control on sushi it could easily stand to be a hot spot.

Ive eaten here twice since Ive been in town. I found this place when I was looking for the Walmart on the bus line. I really love the customer service they have. They really don’t have much along the lines of vegetarian but they do have enough items to make them vegetarian friendly. When you get in they set fried wontons on your table. They specially make orders so you don’t just need to order off the menu. I had the vegetable fried rice with no eggs. The portions were above and beyond generous. It cost around $ 8 or so. I cant really remember but it was cheap enough with the drink to be considered a place I’d come back to.
