I’d have to agree with the other reviewers. This place is very tiny and it is quite hidden, but it has a few highlights that keep us coming back. Don’t forget to bring cash cause most stands, if not all, are cash only! First of all, Rodriguez Farms has delicious organic strawberries(3 green baskets for $ 8) this season. They always have different berries, but it depends on what’s ready! They’re super sweet! We also love Brother’s Hummus. I’m a big fan of the artichoke hummus and the chipotle black bean(3 for $ 10, mix and match)! YUM There is also another fruit stand, few vegetable stand, a handmade jewelry stand, bagels, sinfully sweets(or something like that), and a snow cone truck.

I really want to give this market a better rating but it’s just minuscule. Also seriously disappointed to find no kettle corn, so I just go to South Pasadena the next day for their Farmer’s Market to get my fix! Sierra Madre is a small town with one main street, so maybe there is no need for a bigger market or people just don’t like to eat fruits and vegetables. :) When I first saw this Farmer’s Market I was taken aback, I was like where are all the other vendors, are late for the set up??? But no that’s just how this market always is, I think it averages around eight vendors, just glancing at the number of tent’s set up. The pita bread and hummus slanger is really enthusiastic about his wares. Definitely not shy about getting you to try all his samples, until you feel guilty about it to buy a dip or two. Hmmmm… maybe that was that just me? FYI the roasted tomato and olive tapenade and fantastic, he sells them at $ 4 for one or $ 5 for two, so of course I got two. :[ The vegetable section is great, one week I found leeks for 50 cents each, when at the Albertson’s down the street they were going for $ 1.70 each. The variety is not bad either, rotating with whatever is fresh from the farm. The most recently delicious thing I picked up were some baby artichokes and brussel sprouts. The fruit’s are okay, but I can’t eat them fast enough by myself to buy much. The berries are good for mixing into my morning cereal, when I’m too lazy to bake anything with them. Yeah, there are bigger markets out there but hey if you have time on a Wenesday afternoon hey why not browse the stalls for edible treasures.

First time at here and although it’s a small market, I absolutely love that it has all the organic produce I need without the large angry crowds of other farmer’s market. So its quaint and friendly vendors.

Rating des Ortes: 3 Sierra Madre, CA
Sierra Madre has a Farmers Market again, this one much smaller. Located on S. Hermosa St. between Memorial Park and the Congregational Church. This is a shadow of the last market. Very Small with limited choices. I would wait for the much larger Farmers Market down the street in front of PHS on Saturdays.
