Servers were very personable. We really enjoyed our service. Prices were very reasonable. Parking was easy. Great breakfast and lunch spot. The coffee milkshake is where it’s at! Their slogan is «It’s where you go to see everyone you haven’t seen since yesterday». Couldn’t say it any better.

I’ve come to this place for many years as a child to an adult. This place has gone through at least 2 or 3 different owners; I was concerned that the current owners(Willow & Jim) would change the menu drastically but many things remained the same and I was thrilled. My favorite menu is the breakfast – it’s served all day long. I tend to get #3 for their infamous one HUGE thin pancake and I drench it with maple syrup before folding it together to be eaten up. It comes with two sides and they’re pretty good too. If you come on certain days such as Saturday or Sunday; the place gets full quickly so be prepared for a crowd. The owner, Willow, recognizes me and smiles/says hello even if I come here only a few times a year compared to all of the faces that she probably sees over the years so that’s neat. I haven’t ordered anything else from the breakfast and lunch menus so my review is really based on just the pancake/sides itself and how nice the owner & servers tend to be whenever I come by.

Tucked away in the heart of Sylvania sitting across from the railroad you will find the beloved Willow & Jim’s Country Café. New and old patrons will come to enjoy the small town hospitality as well as the modern openness of the buildings design that came with the renovation. Parking will still be a bit strained and you may find yourself on the other side of the road should you brave rush hour. That said parking at these small town diners will always be a hassle no matter the lot size if the diner is popular. The service was nice and respectful and regardless of time I have never felt rushed. The food here is great and you will never have to worry about leaving this diner anything less than stuffed. I would recommend their pancakes as they are very thin and large and tasted light and buttery. Mine came with eggs, bacon and hash browns which I had fun bundling together with chunks of the pancake like a makeshift burrito. My companion tried their Ruben sandwich which she aggressively put down; so I can only take that as a positive sign. Willow and Jims proximity to I-5 is a plus and under the right conditions the drive is a lot of fun with beautiful rural landscapes to take in along the way. All things said I highly recommend Willow and Jims as a must try destination spot.

The décor was nicely done country style, clean and brightly lit with huge windows. The staff was pleasant and attentive, despite being quite busy(all tables were fully populated). The sound level was extremely high, and we could not have a conversation at all, as there wasn’t any form of sound dampening to alleviate noise. The food took a bit to arrive, but wasn’t unreasonably long in the coming. The pricing was also very reasonable, our bill being approximately $ 42.00 for three people. We ordered a hot dog with fries(my daughter) and Diet Coke, chicken fried steak and eggs(husband) and Diet Coke, and I requested the corned beef hash and eggs with coffee. The hot dog was cut in sections and rolled in to a donut shape on a hamburger bun, which was quite odd. My daughter said it was more like eating plain condiments and bread most of the way through. Additionally, her fries were cooked well but very bland. My husband said that the chicken fried steak was good(a man of few words). My corned beef hash was instant, not fresh or from scratch, and was burnt on one side, slightly resembling dog food on the other; while my eggs were close to over-hard, but not quite and tasted like they had been cooked after something with cinnamon. The hash browns had country gravy on them, but again, bagged not fresh. The gravy itself was decent. We ordered pie to close out our meal. My husband had lemon meringue, while I tried the strawberry rhubarb pie. Both pies were okay. The coffee and soda refills were generous and frequent. The check out process was quick. My overall would be that the quantity for the price was good, but that the food was standard diner fare, and not especially exciting or well made. The noise level made the time there unpleasant, which was disappointing as I had hoped to relax and enjoy pleasant conversation while eating my breakfast. I likely won’t return, as it wasn’t particularly great in any way that would make me want to go back. If you live close, it’s probably a decent option, but I’d recommend trying Patty’s, Ellie’s or the Stilly over this location.

Nice new, clean location and the pancake has the best flavor I’ve had. Vanilla? We’ve eaten here several times in the old building mostly and once in the new. We are excited to see this local, young couple doing well with their business and still taking great care of us and our bellies. :-) thanks Willow and Jim! We’ll be back for sure!

After several recommendations I finally stopped by for a late lunch/early dinner. I have a thing for«clean and today» and I was impressed. I ordered the fish and chips and the were delish. I think they are only served on Friday and I’ve heard they will sell out. The cole slaw was tasty. I wish the portion was a little bigger. My diet Coke had a lot of carbonation which is important to me as well. I hate«flat» soda at restaurants. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. I can’t wait to go back to try breakfast. Great find! Plus it is next to Silvana Meat. So one can have a great meal and pick up some great cuts of meat on the same trip

Hands down best breakfast you’ll find anywhere. Great prices, good comfort food, huge portions(I can never eat it all) and great service! They just recently remodeled and while it’s all fresh and new it still feels warm and welcoming!

You were closed for a time to rebuild. We thought you guys were perfect before but you managed to improve on perfection. People say this is our song. Well this is our restaurant.

Drove all the way out here to find a sign up at a new building that appears to be under construction. No signs explaining what’s up and no answer at phone number. Someone reviewed it 2 days ago but must be from a while ago.

Average. Nothing special. Was expecting a lot more since friends raved. Biscuit and gravy was terrible. Gravy was disgusting.

Not sure why I havent been here before. The place has a random collection of furniture but is easily forgotten when you manage a window seat to enjoy the nature setting in the background. For lunch I ordered a chicken a fried steak sandwich which was delicious and ingenious! Best part of the sandwich was the freshness of the tomato, onions and lettuce. The girlfriend ordered the firehouse breakfast, which she proceeded to devour! The portions for both meals was perfect, enough to satisfy anyone’s hunger. Easily the best mom and pops joint in the area. Will definitely be back to try everything they have to offer!

Great country café, and the kind of place we are always searching for on our Sunday drives. The coffee was good, in an old school kind of way and plenty strong. The hashbrowns were perfectly crispy on the outside, tender inside. Denver omelet was fluffy, perfectly cooked and chock full of ham, peppers and cheese. Very friendly and attentive service. Too full for pie but they looked homemade and good. The pancakes also looked incredible and they were huge.

This place had the feel of a locals go-to breakfast and lunch spot. Locally owned and operated family business. Eggs Benny was delish. Lots of hollandaise. Perfect poached eggs. Hash browns crispy golden brown. Subbed out ham for thick slice of tomato for Uncle’s eggs Benny without a question. Server was attentive and my cup of coffee never went cold or empty. Highly recommended. And sooo cheap! Everything a local café should be!

Great old country café. It is truly ecclectic and a little worn but the food is GREAT. The first restaurant to get eggs over easy right in years. Their hashbrown are pretty much perfect too. We’ll be back!

If you happen to be in Silvana, I recommend stopping here. The food it top-notch, prices fair, and service friendly. Willow & Jim’s isn’t fancy, but it’s good food. I go here for lunch with coworkers, and I always get some kind of breakfast. Plenty of tasty Hollandaise on the Eggs Benedict, the sausage gravy on the chicken fried steak is plentiful and flavorful, local honey is on all the tables. Simple food, but some of the best I’ve had.

You walk in and it’s clear, this ain’t no Denny’s. The chairs and tables don’t match nor do they all function properly, but the rest of it does, like a well oiled machine. The servers are there when you want them, vanish when you don’t. They provide a genuine smile and well cooked diner food. We had breakfast and it was cheap and good, they even brought my daughter a Minnie Mouse kids pancake. It’s a quick stop off the highway if you’re passing through.
