Food is alright. I enjoyed my Asian chicken salad minus the canned fruit, but hey what can you expect from a place like this. The service is slow. Bathrooms are gross.

Thank GOD! I hope they closed before someone became seriously ill. The place was disgusting.

Ok, I’m telling myself to be nice and remember this is a fast food type of restaurant and to be fair. The type of food being sold here is so processed, I would not advise anyone to eat here weekly for sake of your health. I’m no health nut but everything is fried and very salty to preserve the food just like any other processed food. At first I compared this place to Denny’s, IHOP and Friday’s but now I would say Fridays at least has healthier food items. However, the ice cream is awesome! The type of food that is sold here is best for someone that is looking for standard food nothing else.

This Friendly’s is now permanently CLOSED. My 3-star rating is for the mornings ONLY. Otherwise, of course, it would be lower. But what does it matter anyway, the doors are locked for good. The sign is gone and the location vacated as of at least 8÷30÷14. We unknowingly last dined there approx. 2 weeks ago. Lunch and Dinner has ALWAYS had horrible service(check the reviews!), but Breakfast was usually enjoyable. They probably only staffed 2 – 3 servers each weekend morning, which allowed them to disappear fairly easily, but for the most part they hadn’t driven us away like the rest of the day. We often had the same waitresses each morning we visited and they were very nice. That is, until the last time we were there, we didn’t recognize the waitress and the staff must have known something about their job security and had been mailing it in.

Avoid! Service is too slow… painfully slow. They are neck and neck with the DMV.

Blah… I’ve always loved going to Friendly’s, and we thought the kids would enjoy it as well. The service was very slow and even with only 3 of us ordering our food came out at different times. I had the supermelt, which was pretty good and my daughter enjoyed the chicken fingers. My mother-in-law ordered the chicken quesadilla which came with Spanish rice. Half of her rice was burnt and was overall flavorless and her quesadilla was a greasy mess. Our waitress was not at all attentive and never refilled drinks. I had to ask her to clear our dishes and put in our ice cream order. My daughter got the conehead sundae. The cone that came with it had paper stuck to the end of it and as a result my daughter wouldn’t eat it. I mentioned it to the waitress and she basically told me that a lot of the cones are like that. I realize Friendly’s isn’t a fine dining establishment, but you would think they would at least not serve garbage along with their cones!

So we went on July 2 for lunch with family from out if town. They wanted a fribble. The waitress told us the machine starting smoking and burned out. We returned on the 2nd and 3rd. Machine still not fixed. I just called them(july14) and asked if the shake machine was fixed. The person I was transferred to when I asked for a manager told me it was still broken and they still hasn’t ordered the part and the machine was older. No fribble in hot July weather? Lost business and bad service

After the last time I went to this Friendly’s restaurant I will not be returning. The wait staff was really bad. My meal came with a sundae the waiter totally forgot about it till I said something about it. Then, my mom had to find the waiter again to order her dessert since the waiter didn’t even ask my mom if she wanted something. I asked about getting 3 scoops instead of 2 scoops I was told I would have to pay full price for the sundae when the menu said a small up charge. Usually, its only a dollar more. We had to ask another member of the wait staff to give us refills on our drinks since our waiter was MIA. My menu was missing pages and the pages I did have were sticking together. Believe it or not you can get better service at the Micky Ds right next door. O yea when you go to this restaurant make sure you have about 2 hours.

8 people and 2 orders are missing. Also one meal came out at a time 10 – 15 from first meal to last meal to come to the table. Only 7 tables in the place. Manager says they are busy trying to keep up! If you can’t keep up with 7 tables than close the door and walk away! Never again!!!

Not very pleased with this location. We waited about 30 minutes for our food. The food was served cold and their biscuits are microwaved from what I could tell. I came here during my lunch hour and wouldn’t bother coming again. The staff is way too casual for this to be a professional environment…

After wasting an hour today for lunch, and spending nearly 20 dollars for a milkshake, a ‘Budget Gourmet’ quality Mac-n-Cheese and tip, I can see why Friendly’s had to seek bankruptcy protection. I have been to this location twice in the past couple years, and I’m not sure if they’ve cleaned since my previous visit. It’s just dirty, and more to the point, it’s obvious the staff doesn’t care. They left tables dirty, used napkins on the rug, and lettuce on the floors, but they had plenty of time to sing the obnoxious dance-pop songs playing on the in-house music system. An old saying in the restaurant industry is «if you’ve got time to lean, you’ve got time to clean» and it’s pretty clear that the staff here has only heard the first half. They had plenty of time to chit-chat, loudly, next to diners, but not enough motivation or education to even make an attempt to be clean. This attitude comes from the top, and that means the management is simply not committed to keeping a clean restaurant and training their young staff. I was a restaurant manager in my previous career, and the issues here are obvious. Bad leaders and no leadership. My server was a nice enough young lady, but she’s surrounded by apathy. Also, note that Friendly’s is supposed to be a family-friendly place. May want to stop dropping the F-bomb when entering the kitchen, servers. Many of your lunch guests may be 200 years old and deaf, but some of us heard the off-key singing of Miley Cyrus and the cursing quite clearly.

You know, I have never had much issue with this place. I see a lot of my fellow Unilocalers seem to have issue with what is basically a more kid-friendly version of Dennys. This is not a ‘high class’ place because it is meant to be super casual, just above fast food. You need to research what you’re going to before you go there. If you know where you’re going to, what they serve, etc. then perhaps you won’t be so disappointed. That said, I love this place. I especially love their build a burger menu, considering I can put corned beef on a burger makes me think of Bennigans, my once favorite restaurant chain(before they went out of business). The ice cream is also fantastic, so I have no idea why people are nit picking on this place.

I went to this Friendly’s restaurant and the staff was very rude. I was on my lunch break and pressed for time. I waited maybe 10 minutes before I was acknowledged by the rude waitress. She rushed me in taking my order, then i forgot to order my drink and she just walked away. She didn’t come back so i just took my food and ate my lunch with nothing to wash it down with. I almost chocked on that dry fish sandwich. I will never go for lunch at this Friendly’s location again.

I like to go to Friendly’s because of fond memories… My children like to go too, for comforts food and good ice cream. It’s a teat for us, one we usually enjoy. The place could use a makeover — carpeting is old, bathrooms old and stained, and all would benefit from a good bleach scrubbing. Still, I have been happy with the salads and the make-your-own burger is good, with turkey and veg options. All this would have gotten this Friendly’s maybe as many as 3 stars. After all, you can’t expect a Friendly’s to reach too much above its status. I am forced to give it only one star after to tonight’s visit. The young waitress who served us did her best, although she delayed in checking on us after food was served. I got to feeling so sorry for her because the kitchen got so many things wrong, she had to keep going back and forth. It all culminated in her getting our deserts wrong: she brought me to wrong ice cream twice and said«this is all we have.» My daughter’s ice cream was also wrong. I have never had such terrible service, mainly due to the kitchen and finally by a frustrated young waitress. She tried her best but it was just a disaster. The most annoying aspect of this experience is that the manager, who was standing by th waitress’s station the whole time we were there, did not attempt to help her or us, and even though he knew we were having problems, never once stepped forward to make it right. Some manager! He stood idle the entire time! I I am still appalled. My daughter, who loves Friedly’s, said«let’s not come here again» and I have to agree.

I hate to write a one star review about a place that I remember going to as a kid with fond memories(at another location). But this one must be written to warn others away from this establishment. I went here with a coworker as we work nearby and not only was the place mostly empty(never a good sign at lunchtime), but after we got seated finally, the waiter didn’t show up for what seemed like an eternity. It was so bad that another group who came in after us had their order taken first. My coworker and I smile a lot and are friendly, but this got us nowhere. We finally ordered and our drinks didn’t even come out until the food finally arrived. We couldn’t even ask for our drinks before then though because the servers were nowhere to be seen. We didn’t understand the absolutely abysmal service in a mostly empty restaurant. My sandwich was foul and greasy and I left the unappealing fries alone after tasting them(I should’ve gone next door and ordered some fries from McDonald’s instead). During the meal, I finished my drink, but was never approached about a refill. When the server finally showed up again, we were already finished and we wanted was to pay for our terrible meal and get back to work. Our meal easily took over an hour and the server was simply MIA for almost the entire time. What a horrible experience. I will never go back here again. The one star rating applies to both service and food quality.

One of the worst casual dining places I’ve been to in years. We waited about ten minutes to be seated even though the place was only half full.(Half full on a Sunday at lunchtime — that should have been a tip off.) We then waited half an hour for our food, and the manager threw our food away when I had the audacity to tell him we were unhappy waiting so long to eat. Avoid at all costs. The place also did not seem that clean as other reviewers have said.

Absolutely AWFUL. The only reason they get 1 star is because I have to give at least one. We went in this afternoon when there was only one table with people in the entire place, and still waiting about 10 minutes to get seated. After we sat and got our orders in(which, by the way consisted of one salad and one grilled sandwich) — we waited for 30 minutes for our drinks(an iced tea and a Sprite). We were slowly growing furious, and another 15 minutes goes by. Forty five minutes after we placed our order, we finally get our food. The fries are cold. The grilled sandwich has congealed because it has been sitting out. The chicken in the salad is lukewarm. By the way, each of the two tables in the entire restaurant have their own server because it’s so empty. We finish eating our fairly disgusting food, and wait and wait for the server to come over. We place our dessert order. Twenty minutes later — we finally get our ice cream which we had asked to go(he forgot). Our ice cream was also melting as if it had been sitting out for awhile. The place isn’t clean either(menus are sticky) and there was plenty of staff who ignored us as well as some poor man just trying to get a milkshake to go(took him 20 minutes and he was NOT happy). The manager seemed to be completely useless and hid from the customers for most of the time. What is wrong with this place??? Never, ever come here. Unless you like being ignored.

The first and only time that I will ever go to this restaurant. I visited this place a few months ago and the service/food was not even close to satisfactory. The wait for a table was about almost 30 minutes when the host said that it would only be 5. When we finally got to a table the server was no where to be found. I was hungry and figured he was busy but 30 mins later he still didn’t show to even take a drink order!!! The food came out cold and not tasty at all. Overall, if you want good food in this shopping center go to chipotle or mcdonalds.

We took a friend here for his birthday(and since his girlfriend said she had never been to a Friendly’s — yeah I know… unbelievable). This might be the worst Friendly ever. The staff was rude, our order messed up, and the place is downright filthy. I wish I could said we would never go again, but I know better. There are far better places to eat in the area like the IHOP or the Fridays around the corner from here.

It’s a Friendly’s. So naturally, the food is eh. But not a horrible, ah gawdawful, why do I subject myself to this stuff eh. It’s just your average, no frills diner style food. STILL… The place deserves a solid three stars because a) It’s clean b) Service is friendly(ha). It might be a tad slow, but everyone was gracious. I also witnessed a really surprising exchange between a middle aged lady who was dining alone and her server. After a few minutes on the phone, she apologetically told the server she had accidentally left her wallet at home and that her husband was on his way to give it to her, all the way from Bowie, which is maybe 30 minutes away. The server told her not to worry, and just to leave it to him. He was sweating from running around from table to table, yet without hesitation, he insisted that she send her husband back and just leave. c) The kids meals come with ice cream d) Santa and Missus Claus hung out here on Tuesdays and Thursdays for dinners during December AND they gave out little goodie bags with coupons. I have fond memories of stopping at Friendly’s after ballet lessons, so it’s nice that I can share the fun of their ice cream sundaes with faces made of m&m’s and sugar cones perched as hats all with my own daughter.
