this store is very over priced. and full of zombies(old people) i call it seizure world. takes forever to get around these old hags. lots of food there is expired so be sure to check the expiration dates. a juice drink i got was expired a month ago. i saw an old man stick his hands inside the food bar to sample the food. the deli section got me very sick and i had diarrhea for 5 days. I also worked there for a week as a cashier. I did not like a certain manager at all. she had a angry tone. some of the employees have an angry tone too. and very rude customers. they pay very low, not worth working there. they didnt even give me a locker and only gave me 15 mins to eat. horrible place.

Oh Leisure World… how all the stores here in this shopping center live up to that name… So slow… I feel like i’m in the Doldrums from The Phantom Tollbooth. Omg so slooow. I could very well have time travelled going to this Giant. Come in at 30 yrs old, leave retired. Don’t get me wrong, the people that work here are quite pleasant. Just slow. No wonder they are open until midnight. There is no self service checkout for me to even try to speed up my visit. New Yorkers definitely wouldn’t want to come here to shop. Lol. Carts are a mess outside. Crazy amounts of handicapped parking where the entire lot might as well been handicapped parking for those Cadillac boats. I basically had to park over at Burger King. A little exaggerated but you get the point. Not to mention, the people that frequent this Giant can’t park. I will include pictures next time. It boggles the mind how one car can take up FOUR spaces! (cue music) Grandpa Jimmy broke his hip, and he don’t care. Took up 4 parking spaces, and he don’t care. .:my2cents:. Staff needs to pick it up the pace. If you plan on shopping at this Giant, make sure you aren’t in a hurry and in a bored mood. Park away from all the handicapped spaces and boats. And for Pete’s sake, bring your own bags. Nothing frustrates me more now than them asking me if i want a bag at 5 cents a bag… NO I DON’T WANT A BAG.

as others have said, this is very nice Giant. the selection is usually very good and the staff is usually friendly. The customers on the other hand… well, it’s about 200 yards from Leisure World, so the average customers age is 75. Just don’t get behind one of them at the self-checkout isle…

This place cracks me up, there are more handicapped spaces in this parking lot than I have ever seen before. I always park further away from the store, you have a better chance of getting out of the parking space in under 5 minutes. You are better off getting a few things over doing major weekly shopping. If you have a cart it could take you all day. This place is crammed with seniors and they can take there time. They are totaly clueless that they are blocking the isle and you cant get buy. The store is well stocked there seafood department is very nice and depending on the time of day you could be in the check out line for several minutes.

I agree with everything in Tu-Lan’s review. Might I add that one should try to park as far away from the store as possible, because the silver-haired Leisure World denizens driving the boat-size Cadillacs aren’t that great at parking, turning, or the other necessary driving feats. I also will warn everyone that there seems to be a higher theft rate here than in other supermarket parking lots. My mom had her minivan stolen for a joy ride(long story as to why she left her keys in the ignition). And an older gentleman had his rickety bike stolen. So be careful here!

On the smaller side, but the store is well stocked and well maintained with friendly staff. Quality of product is great, sales are pretty good and hours are conducive to shopping at your convenience. But I do have to warn you Unilocalers who are of the 20 – 30 year old demographics. Due to its location in the Leisure World strip mall near the senior living community of the same world, be prepared for the customers of that age. Be prepared to walk in and out of the store due to a slower customer walking before you. Be prepared for this store not to have the more ethnic and culinarily daring ingredients of some other locations(Tahini? Where would you be? Chipotle in adobo sauce? Can’t find you!). Be prepared to see other quirks you’d associated with your parents/grandparents/anyone in the 65+ demographic, including selling used paperbacks after the checkout counter and older customers taking all their time in the world shopping, chit-chatting, overall doing everything. So don’t plan on shopping in a rush during prime time. Luckily this place opens as with other Giants, so go later at night and you’ll be fine.
