The food is exelente, but I’m here right now I order a Baileys on the rocks and the cup looked so disgusting because it look like if someone already have use it, and I sent the cup back to the bartender and I said at least washe the cup where you are going to put my drink, then she just exchange the cup and gave me the same drink that she put on the first cup.

Tyler Cowen told me(ok, via his awesome website) that this place serves the best pupusas in the country. So we went to check it out. It’s in a little strip mall and a little hard to find. It’s a restaurant inside a nightclub/bar and we went during a searing hot sunny day, which threw the dark, somewhat sketchy interior into stark relief. As I’ve probably mentioned before, I don’t speak Spanish, and I always feel sheepish for walking into Spanish-speaking establishments ill-equipped to order. The patrons eyed us suspiciously for a few seconds before returning to their tv and beer. A waitress came over, quickly ascertained that we were outsiders, and gave us a menu. There were no pupusas on the menu. Tyler had mentioned that there was a lot not on the menu. Before we even had a chance to ask a question, she walked away and came back with a man who had the air of ownership. He very warmly asked us in English what we wanted and we said pupusas. He said ok and asked what we wanted in them. We ordered 4 pork pupusas and had no idea what we would end up paying or getting. He mentioned that they would be coming with a cabbage salad. We sat down and waited about ten awkward minutes. She came out with a bag and asked for $ 8.50. We paid up and took our bag(which mysteriously felt wet and heavy) to eat in the car. I totally wish we had ordered 8 pupusas! They were DELICIOUS. Toothsome and bursting with flavor. Just the right amount of pork and cheese and spiciness. The cabbage? It was essentially a big plastic sack of cole slaw, which was a little strange, but was so good on top of each bite of pupusa. Look, I’m Chinese and from the American midwest and I don’t speak Spanish. I’m kind of girly. So suffice it to say, I don’t really fit in. I felt pretty awkward waiting for those pupusas. But I think it’s worth it.
