Amazing! Not so salty or spicy but just about right and mild. The noodles are fun to eat, too. Jabchae has an interesting chewy texture.

First time coming to ‘TIS Corner Café today. It’s conveniently located near my office so definitely a good place to come and grab lunch. When I walked in there were about 4 people ahead of me in line but it went by so quickly I didn’t even notice it. The service was great, everyone was friendly and worked efficiently. The food seems to be pretty standard. I would like to have seen more vegetarian options. I got the veggie sandwich which was the obvious choice because I’m a vegetarian. The veggies were fresh and the sandwich as a whole tasted great. But there wasn’t anything special or unique about it.

One of the many things I miss about NJ/NYC is being surrounded by so many good bagel shops. Everyone had their favorite, but you could really go to any of them and get a solid bagel breakfast sandwich. ‘TIS doesn’t come close to what I’m used to, but it definitely helps when I need my sausage, egg, & cheese bagel fix. The meat is very flavorful and they pile the egg on there. The bagels are not the best, but definitely better quality than many places in the DC area that I’ve experienced. The bagel perfectly complements the rest of the sandwich, and it’s balanced so you don’t feel like there’s hardly any filling. I wish they were open on the weekends, but they basically cater to the NOAA employees, so can’t say I blame them for only being open during the week.

Tis is everything you would expect from a little corner café shop. I’m quickly a convert for breakfast. Tis blows other nearby shops out of the water in terms of price, dish size and quality. Definitely working it into my usual rounds! Sure the service may not be overly ecstatic to see you but they are nice, prompt and happy to get you your food in a timely manner. They also have some great specials so it’s totally worth stopping by now and then!

I’m about to stop frequenting this place due to the owner’s attitude every time I request a BAG! I don’t mind paying $.05 for a bag but I DO mind the inconsistency in applying the charge because I’ve noticed NOTEVERYONEISCHARGEDFOR A BAG! Either charge everyone $.05 for a bag WITHOUTTHEATTITUDE or DON’T CHARGEATALL. THANKS!!!

Only eat here if you enjoy unfriendly staff, intense attitudes from across the counter, and a rushed/cramped feeling. I so seldom write negative reviews as I tend to first address my opinions directly to staff or management of an establishment before airing my grievances publically. I did talk to the owner/manager who is clearly unconcerned about customer service, so here I go… This is only a sandwich shop, so realistically my expectations are not that large nor demanding. However, I do expect people to be friendly, gracious in their service, and kind. I’ve gotten far better customer service from street vendors on a freezing day in New York then I’ve gotten from this ambient-controlled hole in the wall. I don’t appreciate eye rolling when I ask for avocado on my panini(I’m moving your product for goodness sake!), nor a rough tone of voice of «what do you want to order»(whatever happened to hello, may I take your order… or a darn smile… even when there is not line!), and I don’t honor management that is only interested in customer’s dollars and not customer satisfaction. Yes, this is only a a sandwich shop. However, I’ve been a loyal follower to places that offer just a mediocre food because the spirit of the place was uplifting and kind. Food(and the environment it is created in) feeds more than our bodies. Only the good places know this, and only the good places are worthy of my loyalty. I will be sure to spread the word on this place, for those who haven’t noticed its bad vibes.

Food is great here and very fresh. They carve fresh from a turkey. Reasonable prices, great service. Can’t ask for a better lunch deli spot.

I am a little baffled by the people who complain about price! Let’s talk about value for a minute. Their on-the-menu wraps/sandwiches/salads are priced mid $ 4 – 6. That is awesome. I just had a Mediterranean Chicken wrap with all the following on it: grilled chicken, romaine, feta cheese, pepperoncini, olives, tomato, sun dried tomato vinaigrette — for just $ 6.19. Even Chipotle charges extra for guacamole so people complaining about this should just pipe down. Custom sandwiches are always going to cost more. This isn’t Subway — in MANY ways. At the end of the day, this deli exists in somewhat of a lunch wasteland from my office and is a welcome sight compared to dearth of other options — Caribou, Starbucks, Einsteins, McDonald’s, Crisp & Juicy(which I like as well), Mamma Lucia. It is a great little spot that I will happily support.

I’ve been here a few times and was contemplating how many stars I would give it. Initially I thought 4, but I bumped it up to 5 for a few reasons. Meat quality: The meat is carved right in front of you. How many deli places in the DMV do that?! Snacks selection: Really broad selection of chips, baked, kettled cooked, rice chips, etc. Lots of organic options of energy bars and chocolates too. Drinks: Lots of bottled drinks, many organic or small producer options. Service: Brusque but very quick. You’re not gonna wait in line an hour for a sandwich. Décor: Really pretty framed pictures of sunflowers on the wall, nice bright colors. Overall, this is your local neighborhood deli, but it gets 5 stars for all the obvious thought that went into creating this place. Prices are similiar to most sandwich places(around $ 6-$ 8 for most sandwiches and salads). Most people who eat here are from the local NOAA offices and they seem to come, grab stuff and go, but there’s seating inside if you want to eat there. Support your local restaurants and eat here instead of Einstein’s down the street!

I love this spot! I often pop by in the mornings for an egg&cheese sandwich or cream cheese on english muffin with sprouts, cucumber, tomato, etc.(YUM!) on my way to work. I love their extensive beverage selection – perfect for random things I like to drink… aloe vera juice, honest tea, etc. Others have mentioned the price being a little high, but it seems worth it to me because of how fresh everything is! I wish they were open weekends!!!

The wraps and sandwiches here are delicious. The meats are carved right in front of you and often are still warm. The vegetables and wraps always are fresh. Additionally, their iced coffee is very good. The little shop offers about 10 different wraps and a variety of sandwiches, soups, and some assorted pastries. Chips and drinks are available as well. ‘Tis is only open on weekdays and closes at 4. I went in there at 3 recently and they had already started packing up for the day. There’s a nice eating area outside, but it’s right on East-West Highway, which can be busy mid-day. The down side is the price. Sandwiches are between six and eight dollars each, not including sides. However, if you’re in the mood for fresh sandwiches/wraps and want to change up your normal routine, this is a great place to occasionally visit.

Edited: It’s Wednesday, and I was looking forward to a bowl of their mushroom brie soup, served ONLY on Wednesday. It was 12:20PM. They were sold out. They were sold out last week. And the week before. So I asked if they would make more(it’s just soup, right?). No, no, no. If it doesn’t sell, they waste food. How much could it cost to make more, given each bowl goes for $ 3.50 a bowl? How many customers are they losing by running out early? I thought about getting a Cobb wrap, instead I walked up the street to the Wave Café, and got lunch there. I’ll check back next Wednesday around noon for soup. If they don’t have it, that’s it for me. Edited to add: Went over there today and they gave a lot of attitude and whining to my co-worker when they got her order wrong. Also, told her some menu items weren’t available, but cashier said they were. So they lose two stars. As another reviewer mentioned, this is in the same space Atrium was. It has much better service than Atrium did, but the biggest attraction is that it’s next door to work. I’ve had roast beef done in a wrap, and the Cobb Salad wrap. The roast beef was good, hand sliced and rosy in the middle. I was able to get it with mayo, onions, and horseradish. Other toppings are mustard, sprouts, lettuce, tomato, and cucumbers. Also, you can pay a little more for avocado or bacon. The Cobb Salad wrap had all the parts of that salad in the sandwich, chicken, blue cheese, bacon, hard boiled eggs, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado. I usually buy a bottle of tea with it, and it runs me about $ 8 – 9. However, the wraps are really big, and two people could easily split one and still be satisfied. My co-worker speaks highly of their soups, but I’ve never tried them. However, the weather is getting colder, so perhaps next time???

So, the food is really good and the veggies are super fresh along with the freshly carved meat but after paying $ 10.90 just now for a turkey sandwich and a cranberry juice I feel robbed(no chips, just a sandwich and juice). The people who make the sandwiches are really nice and will pile on the toppings without telling you that there is an extra charge for everything other than lettuce and tomato. I probably won’t be back unless I’m desperate. 3 stars because the service was good and the food is fresh the cost… ridiculous!

This little deli is located in the NOAA building complex in Silver Spring. It was formally the Atrium Café. The new owners have completely redone this deli with a more modern set up. The store is has a clean and efficient feel when you walk in. The Sandwiches are the only option i have had so far at this deli. The meat is freshly carved, Turkey, or Roast Beef) in front of you when you order. The veggies and bread are also very fresh. The sandwiches run about 6 bucks and are a great lunch option for people that work in Silver Spring. They also offer salads, soup, and wraps. An assortment of cookies, chips, and drinks is also available.
