I bring my most delicate items to Wellers every year. Sweaters coats all have good results. Fine wool excellent! They don’t ship your items off site. But on my most recent visit they severely disappointed having ruined my white silk blouse. If it’s silk and light in color go elsewhere.

If you like wearing clothes with scuff marks and stains, then 10⁄10 would recommend. Btw, repeating that my clothes are clean doesn’t make it any cleaner.

I have been a customer for a few years and I am discontinuing my patronage. They are nice but honestly they do not clean clothes with spots at all. I even use their tape to mark the spots. They take tape off but nothing looks done on spots. When I ask for the clothes to be redone and mark them again there still is no better result. This has happened a few times. They simply didnt seem to care that they do not get spots out. Seems they clean but do not spot check. Convenient but I will no longer use them.

They have a sign that says«not responsible for broken buttons». Take it seriously. Also, I don’t think they clean anything. I asked about a stain on a white shirt once, and they were like«no…we don’t do that». Pretty sure they just send everything to some other facility that irons very quickly(and destructively). Why isn’t there one decent dry cleaner in DTSS?

I was overcharged for my dry cleaning. The employee disputed my concern so I returned a few minutes later with my drop-off stub showing the amount I was supposed to be charged. At this point the other employee takes over the conversations and starts saying that he had to manually press all of my shirts and hence the reason I was charged an extra $ 4.00 per dress shirt. I informed him that I didn’t request a manual press to which he said that he had no choice as his press wasn’t working well with my shirts(never had an issue with my [smaller than normal] dress shirts at any other dry cleaner ever). Needless to say we wen’t back and forth for a while with him saying what you’d expect(I can’t open the register, we’re technically closed now, the owner isn’t here, I can’t call the owner, I’ll give you store credit, etc.). Fast forward and I walk away with the $ 24.00 I was overcharged and won’t be coming back.

Today I over slept. Working way too much! Dropped by the cleaners to pick-up my stuff and they just couldn’t find it. Granted the regular counter people were not here, I do believe that if your establishment is open to the public, you should have someone in position who: A. Can speak English B. Successfully be able to operate the cash register. C. Be able to operate the equipment and locate my STUFF!!!

They put a bleach hole in my shirt. I do not use bleach on my shirts, nor do I interact with it unless its to clean my tub… which I assure you I have not done in at least two months. I always stress that I prefer a slight stain over a hole. Points for getting me my shirt early, but hole in shirt = time to move on.

I picked up my dry cleaning yesterday and I am really disappointed with what I found when I got home. Two of the button downs have smashed or scraped up buttons plus the dress shirts were pressed horribly. It looks like they pressed the sleeves with no attention to whether the fabric was laid flat or not so I have giant creases down by the cuffs and the placard where the buttons are is also pressed off kilter so it’s no longer laying flat. Then there is the collar which is more wrinkled now than when I took it in. It would be one thing if Weller’s was one of those $ 1.99 each Dry Cleaners, but 7 pieces(3 of which were dress shirts) cost almost $ 40. In addition, according to the tiny sign hung away from the entrance; if you have more than $ 30 worth of dry cleaning and you pay up front they give you a discount. Interestingly, that discount wasn’t mentioned when I dropped off the clothes. Alas… My search for a dry cleaners in Silver Spring continues.

I’m a frequent visitor to this dry cleaner in downtown Silver Spring, but after today’s trip I feel compelled to write a review. They’ve always done a great job with everything I’ve given them; as Kate said, no funny smells etc. However, sometimes they seem to charge a lot for simple tasks, which is a bummer since they’re otherwise fantastic. Today I went in with two shirts that needed buttons sewn on(I still had the buttons that fell off). The gentleman behind the counter asked if I wanted the shirts cleaned and pressed too, but I said that I just wanted the buttons sewn on. He asked«That’s all?», to which I started to think«Oh great, he’s either going to tell me to get lost or charge the hell out of me». Instead, he said«Can you wait 5 minutes?». «Sure», I replied. He came back a few minutes later with the shirts, buttons sewn back on, and didn’t charge me a dime for it. «Don’t worry about it» he said. What a nice gesture. Glad to see customer service is alive and well here. In my head this place has always been four stars, but today they’re getting five for being awesome.

Weller’s is good. They’ve done pants, dresses, and sweaters for me, and I’ve never had a problem. No chemical smell, no broken buttons, no lost items. I find them a little expensive – a simple rayon dress was $ 11 or $ 12 simply because it was a dress – but it’s worth it since they do a good job. I *think* they *might* be organic, too. There’s a poster in the window that talks about organic dry cleaning, but I don’t know if that means they do all their cleaning organically. They certainly don’t advertise it since that poster is all I’ve seen about it. I’ve also been to Weller’s tailor, who was friendly and professional. He hemmed a long dress and replaced a broken zipper on a pair of jeans. Both items don’t look at all like they’ve been altered. I even managed to talk down the price of hemming the dress, so the 2 alterations were something like $ 36. I think that’s a little much, but he did a good job so I can’t complain. I’d definitely go back to him.
