Been here multiple times and every time I leave very happy. If you order Ramen, no, it won’t be the best ramen you’ve ever had(noodles are a bit over cooked for that) BUT for the price, it is GREAT. The have lunch and dinner combo prices which kick butt(so I’m not sure why there’s $$) The 2 choice lunch special is only $ 10 and I want to say the 2 choice dinner special is $ 12(which for the amount of food you get is enough for two meals. Again, not the most amazing Japanese food you will ever have but very good quality for the price you pay. Oh, and their deep fried spicy tuna roll is to die for!

Love the Shabu Shabu and lunch specials here. You can order a ramen as one of your sides and it’s a nice large bowl. My only complaint is that they don’t always give you very much rice. I had a half filled bowl and when I asked for a little more they ended up charging me and it was another half bowl. I wish they would just give me one full bowl. Or if they want to give half a bowl don’t charge for another half bowl.

Best place ever! We love their Shabu Shabu! I Recommend the beef. It’s super tender and light and super flavorful. I would also recommend their udon soup its out of this world! The sauces are beyond delicious. I always get extra goma sauce. The parking is super convenient in a large parking lot. There is never really a wait and I’m so glad they have a restaurant like this in Simi. It’s my new favorite!!!

This place is reasonably priced. $ 10 for shabu lunch and it is filling. There’s plenty of parking near by. Service was really nice. It did confuse us when they switched us from using one plate to another. Definitely not a grab and go if you’re ordering the shabu style. They do have other lunch combo and curry if you want a faster meal. I will probably come back in the future.

Pretty good but they do not offer as much as other Shabu places I have been too. It satisfied my shabu fix since I used to live in OC and had it all the time.

As a Shabu/Hot Pot veteran, I have high expectations for any establishment. That being said, Simi Valley doesn’t scream shabu shabu, so admittedly my expectations were slightly lowered for this place. I was pleasantly surprised by my experience and intend to return. Upon entering the establishment sheds it’s strip mall exterior in favor of a trendy(but not too trendy) eatery. Ample seating and the flexibility to split a pot with a friend were also a plus. We came luckily enough for their lunch specials. I chose the traditional Prime Beef Shabu. The sauces were fairly traditional, albeit on the sweeter side. The veggies were plentiful as well. A welcome addition was their garlic sauce. It was a pleasant twist over receiving the basic raw garlic. The server/host/busser, Phillip, was in charge of the entire restaurant for today’s lunch. Despite having a packed house he was more than attentive and helpful. The lunch rush was in full swing by the time we placed our orders but he was able to keep up and help the entire restaurant single-handedly. All-in-all a great experience!

The sauces for the food here were amazing. Cooking the food with vegetables and meat/seafood is simple. The only issue is that they don’t give you enough. I know it wasn’t just me either, the party of six i was with were all still hungry after finishing. We ended up going for dessert at Baskin Robbins in same shopping center. I recommend the taste and experience, but you may be hungry afterwards.

It has been opening for a while, I always wanna try here. But when I check it on Unilocal every time, that $$ sight reminds me here is a expensive place. Today I convinced myself finally and took my wife to take a shot here. I really regretted why I didn’t come here earlier!!! The price and food size are so amazing. One chicken teriyaki bowl $ 5.5, one beef ramen $ 5.5. Although they are lunch price, dinner’s just cost one more $, plus the taste is not bad. We just have a ramen and a bowl, then already felt full. If you never try here, trust me. Worth a shot~

We love love love this place! Our absolute favorite sushi spot in Simi. We come for their lunch combo and it is an incredible deal! For $ 10, you get a sushi feast. We recommend this place often and have brought family here several times. I don’t often write reviews, but when I do it’s for a place as good as The Shabu

I had a craving for shabu(who am I kidding, I always do) and didn’t feel like sitting in traffic to get to LA so I decided to try this place! I came in after work on a weekday and it was empty minus one employee in the front and an elderly couple having a meal. Décor and ambience reminds me of Gen Korean BBQ, kinda clubby with dim lighting but colorful lights everywhere. I opted for the beef prime shabu($ 15) with traditional shabu shabu(kelp water) broth. It came with a side of vegetables and udon and it seems like the meat wasn’t freshly cut but instead cut and stored in the fridge, same with the vegetables; everything was just preset and ready which turned me off quite a bit. The vegetable dish should probably be on a smaller plate if you’re going to offer so few vegetables and such a small quantity. Throws off the presentation since it makes it look like its missing a lot. Goma and ponzu sauce are offered, the standard dipping sauces, as well as a garlic sauce. The ponzu sauce was a little sour and tasted a bit weird to me. The beef was very thinly sliced but they make up for it by giving you a large amount of meat. Quality wasn’t too bad, but again I was very thrown off since it was obvious it was pulled out of the fridge. Service was good, the one employee was very friendly and sweet! She wasn’t overbearing yet she also paid attention. Overall, if I ever really want shabu and just don’t want to make the trek out to LA, I would come here. Nothing out of this world amazing, but nothing super disappointing either. Price isn’t too bad, $ 16.13 after tax, not including tip for the beef prime shabu.

Outstanding food, great service, fresh ingredients. Comfort food taken up a level. Unique and educational dining experience. Reasonable prices. Start off with a Heart Attack. Share some Shabu with a friend. Add a Sushi roll or two on the side. This makes for a happy stomach.

I have seen this restaurant here for a while now and had been wanting to try it. Imagine that, a Shabu restaurant in Simi Valley. Today, I finally got a chance to try it. I am giving it 5 stars because 1) it is in Simi Valley 2) the service we had was great 3) prices were extremely reasonable. Was this the best shabu shabu place I’ve been to? No, but I’ve spent more than double at other places. This was a good value for what you get. My wife and I arrived at the Shabu at around 11:15 for lunch, and were the first ones there. Being fans of shabu shabu, we both ordered the beef shabu lunch. They had a special listed on the board for a spicy tuna for $ 5. I was told this was a roll or could also be made as a hand roll. I ordered it as a hand roll. The hand roll was excellent, full of spicy tuna and not overstuffed with rice. The shabu pot had a piece of dashi kombu in it, and the waiter poured hot broth into it. We were offered a garlic sauce and a pepper sauce for the broth, I used both. Were also given green onions and daikon(japanese radish). For dipping, we were given a ponzu sauce and a goma sauce. A single vegetable plate was brought out for the both of us which was more than adequate. I included udon noodles, napa cabbage, broccoli, onions, carrots, tofu, and what I think was japanese pumpkin. I thought the beef was a little thin, but easily picked up if you look to see how the pieces were placed on the plate, and then picking up the top piece grabbing the outer edge. By the time we left, we were full. Our total bill for this, including tax(not including tip) was about $ 26. I will be back.

I’ve fallen in love with Ramen after having«one of the best» in Houston. After attempting to find another duplicate near by in California, I came across this place. After being seated, it took 20 mins+, it appears that no one was going to take our order. I decided to take the initiative and ask for a server to come our way. After our Pork Cutlet Ramens came in, we instantly noticed the processed-looking ramen with a plain-tasting ramen. On top of that, we each had different size pork cutlets. Literally half the size! We asked for the same size pork cutlets and the chef refused to make another. It was an unfortunate series of events. Sufficed to say, there will not be another visit and we will go to another place who will gladly accept our small requests.

The picture of the veg on the window does not match what you get. It is not authentic shabu, no garlic, not sesame sauce, vinegar does NOT belong in shabu! Waitress spilled sweet tea all over my friend and didn’t even offer as much as a free drink! What’s up with that? I only gave a second star because we did get full. But without a good sauce, it’s just boiled food. Not coming back, I recommend going to any hot pot/shabu in Monterey Park or thereabouts if you want real, authentic shabu shabu.

First time to a Shabu restaurant but veteran on having Shabu at home with family! We ordered the Seafood Shabu and Beef Shabu which comes with 20 thin slices of meat and the seafood was a variety which included: white/brown rice, udon noodles, tofu and veggies(cabbage, carrot, onion and broccoli) also included a wedge of squash which was not mentioned in the description so took that as a bonus veg all of it was fresh«A+» also 2 dipping sauces ponzu and a creamy sesame which was delish. They also have a garlic sauce and chili paste you cans ask for. As you see we asked a lot of questions! At first sight the thought was: not enough food for 3 ladies(2 that have bottomless pits) but we ate EVERYTHING and were very satisfied(not stuffed and miserable)! Will defiantly be back!

Everything was lovely. I came on a Thursday night with my husband and our sleeping baby in the stroller. The entire restaurant was empty which we were really happy about for our baby’s sake. We each ordered a fried California roll to start & they were awesome. I’m really picky of fried California rolls, and I would definitely be back just for these considering the price & how close to our house this place is. I tried my husband’s crunch roll but that wasn’t for me. I got the Teriyaki chicken & it was great. There was barely any sauce on it which I appreciated. Dessert was fried green tea ice cream & it is totally my new favorite dessert! Soooo good! The staff was fantastic & really attentive. We will definitely be back!
