First time here, the food and atmosphere was amazing! Chelsea M made our stay enjoyable and funny to say the least! Definitely coming to try more of the beers!

Some of the best service I’ve ever received. That manager is amazing and is absolutely amazing to loyal customers. Great low key bar and 75+ beers on tap! Phenomenal bartenders and even better apps until 11! Great variety and chill environment

The food is amazing! The wings with a dry rub are phenomonal. The mac n cheese with bacon was to die for. The bartender was attentive and I had no shortage of drink. The food was decently priced for the quality and I am very happy with the leftovers. Rarely are leftovers as good as the day you ate them but these leftovers were a 10⁄10. I will repeat business here. ***UPDATE*** Most people update to bitch and complain but I must say I am once again reinforcing a five star review. The barman here must live at this place. Great service, friendly smile, and genuine care in my service to go is making me love this place even more. On a friday no less! Can’t get this service on a busy day at Plan B! Food was once again on point! Not enough nice crap to say. Six stars if I could. The extra money is worth it in service and quality of food.

The place in Simsbury is wayyyyyyy better than West Hartford. My only wish is that they opened for lunch. I have to wait until 3 today to have some beer.

I enjoy coming here during the summer and sitting out on the patio. Food and drinks have been consistent for the most part. There was an awful smell lurking in the bar area last weekend and it was extremely prominent when we walked in the door. We actually left after one drink because of the smell. Aside from that though. I enjoy this spot.

Worst experience in a Resturant since … I can remember. September 20, 2015. Around noon. Took my family with two young kids. Waited 30 mins before I complained to a rude, uncaring manager. Waited another 15 mins before overlooked and incorrectly prepared food came out for two of the six of us. 15 mins later we left to get fast food. We will never come back. I wish I had the patience to write down everything that was wrong with this place. I just don’t feel like reliving it. Stay away!!!

Food was fine., nice assortment of beers. Our waitress, who was quite pleasant and helpful, was the only lunch waitstaff scheduled on a Sunday that had a nearby Arts and Crafts festival. So, as you can imagine, we waited a long time for our meal. Heroic effort by the waitress, dismal planning by the scheduling manager.

The appetizer pretzel with cinnamon butter was delicious. It is a meal unto itself so you may want to share it. The burger was cooked perfectly as I ordered. They had my favorite beer on tap — Firefly Hollow Oatmeal Stout!

I was hoping to have a more memorable experience here but it did not do much for me. It was a Thursday or Friday, not overly busy. Service was not super fast. For a pub, you would imagine they would want to get the beers flowing but they take their time. At least 10 min before first beer was on the table. I ended up ordering the«Jumbo traditional wings» inferno mango habanero style. They are NOTJUMBO. Not even worth taking a photo. I think they were actually breaded wings. The sauce was awesome, honestly would love to get that recipe, but would never order again for what you get… The wife ordered a loaded baked potato with bacon, sour cream, scallions and cheese. She said it was good but nothing to write home about. I had the pulled pork sandwich, grilled onions, and thick ciabatta bun. Again, for the $$ your putting out, I was not impressed. Ordered a Black hog beer on tap. It was flat. No problem, but since the wait staff was slim, I decided to go to the bar. Ran into a runner and explained that I would like something else. She tells me that it was probably from the«nitro tap» and it can appear flat… I requested a Six Point Resin and she comes back with another Black Hog… It was flat. I again requested another beer. Then my waiter came over, then the bar manager came over to defend the beer… I never have had to have such an entourage of people to deal with a flat beer as this. Pouring another of the same it not going to carbonate it. Never has someone disagreed with me about a flat beer… No impressed. Just an irritating experience and will look for another local place for quality beer. Don’t expect to return

Definitely my favorite bar in Simsbury. Love the atmosphere and the drink selection. Bartenders and wait staff are friendly. My friends and I go here whenever we’re all in town.

Not bad, not great. Service was excellent mid week after 3. Waitress was very knowledgeable regarding the plethora of beer choices. Appetizer menu had good choices as well. Fried asparagus was great. My dining partner thought that the lack of a single vegan/vegetarian option(not a bean burger or veggie burger to be had) was a significant drawback. I had the chicken sandwich on a chiabata roll, which was ok if a bit dry. Wished I had ordered the meatloaf sandwich. Beer menu was top notch though. Gonna give it another try and see if it was just a matter of what I ordered. Dining partner thought the ambience and décor scored points as upscale towny meets irish pub.

Came in on a whim with my wife on Pres day. Not too crowded… tables were available. Atmosphere is great with wonderful Irish pub-like décor. I think they must have been down on help as the service was painfully SLOOOOWWW. At first we sat in the back room, but after 15min of not seeing any help, I decided to move us to the bar area. It took another 10min before someone asked us for our drink order. It took another 15 for the beers to show up. Mind you the place was not that crowded So bottom line it took 40min to get a beer. In a pub. In. A. Pub. Seriously?! Ordered some chicken wings and a burger. 30min for that to come out. Got over-breaded chicken nuggets instead. Waiter asked to if we wanted to exchange them for wings, but the way the evening was going, we wanted to eat something that night, so we kept going. Burger was very very good but the fries had so much blazing salt on them it was like they were coated in sand. Blech! So on a scale of 1 – 10, I give our first experience here: Atmosphere — 8 Service — 3 Burger — 7 Other food — 2 Beer Selection — 9 Bottom line — go for some pints with friends, but then eat elsewhere.

My girlfriend and I came to McLaddens last Friday night(2−6−15) after so many of our friends had told us about the amazing food and huge draft beer selections. After all the rave we were not disappointed. We walked in around 7 – 7:30 and the place was packed. We waited about 30 minutes for a table which was fine with us because we were able to get a round in before dinner. We were promptly greeted by our bubbly waitress Mckenzie who went over all the make your own options and amazing looking specials(we unfortunately didn’t order any) We ended up getting an order of boneless bourbon BBQ wings! Fabulous! They arrived quickly and hot. Next for our meals I ordered the Adobe BBQ burger. This burger was one that could top Plan B. It was tender and perfectly cooked. DELICIOUS! My girlfriend ended up getting the salmon filet with the pomegranate glaze. The fish was well cooked and perfectly paired with rice and asparagus. We will most definitely be back for the amazing food and great service. Ask for Mckenzie she is off the charts fun.

This is a restaurant we used to frequent without any complaints… last night however we went there for some apps and drinks. We didn’t recognize any of the old staff who were wonderful and the food has taken a sharp nose dive. The French onion soup was like thick salty gravy — sent back, then the muscles my husband ordered with wine and chorizo arrived with at least 4 muscles unopened. We all know what that means… dead. so we were served dead fish. so needless to say — great atmosphere and bar, but don’t eat the food!!! And our tab still came to 80 dollars!!! It should have been free. This one is off my list forever.

The food tonight took an upswing. I always thought is at least good to very good. Tonight the bangers and mash was excellent. Three large perfectly cooked crispy bangers, a good mound of smooth mashed but not too wet and the onion gravy was sublime. My wife’s Niman Ranch Angus burger was flavorful and cooked to medium rare just as she asked. The fries were a small amount of nicely fried chips just perfect. We would rather have a small serving of really good chips than a large serving of mediocre. Saves trips to the Treadmill as well. As for the beers, I had the Leffe Blonde which is actually a brown ale which was absolutely perfect Belgian ale. My wife had the Lagunitas Czech Pilsner which was an amazingly well done Pilsner by an American brewery. Service was good but I detect some new bartenders that may not have the command of the offerings. Fortunately they subscribe to BeerMenus site(just scan the QR code in the menu) if you need a guide.

One of the best beer menus I’ve seen in the Hartford area. I was very impressed! Extensive food menu. Our waitress, Chelsea, was really nice and all smiles. It was a tad too loud for me at happy hour, though. Even though I was sitting against a wall, it was hard to hear my friend. Despite the great happy hour deal, I am not sure I’d come back for it. I will definitely be back!

We arrived a bit early for dinner(5:30) on a sat night and it wasnt too crowded. By the time we left it was pleasantly full but not mobbed. Tons of beers to choose from. Which is great. We had the gaelic brie appetizer and it was very good. Could have used another two pieces. Came with 4 on the plate. Pricy but tasty. We also had the kettle chips with bacon fondue. Those last two words are all you need to know. Delicious. I could spread it on toast. My wife had the lamb stew. Smallish portion. Salty but tasty. O’Connors in worcester has a better recipe but it is hardly ever on their menu anymore. Not bad. I had the adobe bbq burger and it was awesome. Opted for cole slaw and it was very good. Skipped the fries after all those kettle chips. A slice of Baileys bash was pretty good. Not amazing, but good. Coffee was meh. A bit burnt and served in a glass skinny mug, cools quickly. We’ll definitely try it again. Next time we’ll try the west hartford location…

Decided to spend happy hour this time. We had the same, wonderful waitress as our first experience. Her name was Amber. Very knowledgable with the extensive beer list. Very helpful with the single malts. I’d ask for her tables again. She’s fun and helpful. A great combination. We did the dry rub wings and their cheese platter for an appetizer. It’s was all just OK. The wings seem to be their best item. I’ve tried many from their menu and none really hit their mark. The cheese platter was more of a joke. We also had their Brie app on their toasted wedges which was very, very small for the price. Really not worth ordering again. The apps are pretty expensive when compared to their portion sizes. The Pasty was a huge disappointment. For an Irish Pub, one would think this would be a head turner. A good Pasty is heaven. They need to try a different approach. Their Cajun Dry Rub on their wings is a home run. This place could be 5 stars easily if they would just concentrate on the quality of their food. The beer selection and single malt menu was incredible. Get the good right and everything just falls into place.

Sing with me: «Seventy six cold drafts of beer you can try Seventy six cold drafts of beer If one of those kegs should run itself dry Seventy five cold drafts of beer you can try» I was really impressed by McLadden’s Irish Publick House. They have only been open for a week and a half, as we anxiously waited to see how the interior would change from that of it’s predecessor — the very popular Iron Frog Tavern. Let me digress — I liked the Iron Frog a lot. It was a fun place with really good food and atmosphere. But OMFG, what an improvement McLadden’s is. It is absolutely gorgeous inside. They knocked down some walls, expanded the bar and made the space a lot less disjointed than it used to be, Terrific Irish music piped in at a perfect background noise level. We tried to get in for a late dinner on Friday night, but we could tell by the parking situation and our glimpse of the interior that McLadden’s was packed to the rafters, so we bailed. We came back to try lunch today, and were able to get a table which turned out to be the last table in the back dining area. And those beers !! They have all 76 beers proudly lined up for inspection on a few overhead flat screens. Or you can use your phone to scan the QR code on their menu and peruse the line-up on your phone like I did. I chose a Leffe Blonde Belgian Ale 16 oz draft for $ 7, which turned into a bit of an adventure. Oh yeah, they had it in stock, but my glass looked like a child sized glass. I asked our server if that was 16 ounces, and she said«that’s the glass it’s served in». Well, it was just a mix-up because the website said otherwise and I received another small glass which when added to the first probably totaled 16 ounces. A very pleasant manager came over and thanked me for catching the discrepancy. Like I said, they’ve just been open for a week and a half, and all of those beers make for a lot of opportunities for missteps. Our lunch for three included a shepherd’s pie, a turkey burger, and an Emerald Isle salad for me. My salad was tremendous«A 6 oz. Salmon Filet on a bed of warm tossed spinach. Topped with Irish bacon rashers, crimini mushrooms, hard boiled egg & pickled red onion with a warm Rosemary Honey dressing. $ 14.95». It was perfect! My reports on the shepherd’s pie and the turkey burger were very flattering. The three of us made very short work of two desserts, a Bourbon Pecan Pie and a Bailey’s Irish Bash. I totally resisted the urge to lick the plates clean. We were really impressed by McLadden’s. Welcome to the mix of the increasingly competitive world of Farmington Valley eateries.
