Eagle Springs Training Center

This place is a torture camp that should be shut down immediately.
Upon arriving, I was taken off my prescribed medications cold turkey and lost 40 lbs within the first two months. I was forced to perform hours of hard manual labor, take a vow of silence, consume spoiled food and chemical-​laced water, stay in solitary confinement for weeks and threatened with a shotgun. I was hypnotized, starved, deprived of sleep, humiliated in front of my peers and told that it was done «because God loves me and is melting me into gold.» There was even an exorcism.
I was placed in the camp because I stood up to my father who had molested me and my siblings for years. In our family’s religion (read: cult), children are taught never to question their parents. For this I was labeled «rebellious» and sent off to Eagle Springs. We were part of the fundamentalist Christian group ATI/​IBLP headed by Bill Gothard (Google his name and see what pops up). All in all, I spent two full years at this modern-​day concentration camp before returning home a broken person.
Needless to say, I left the cult years ago but the emotional scars are still with me. I encourage parents to do their research before handing their kids over to ANY bootcamp or religious organization. Better yet, why not keep your kids at home and parent them yourself? It’s your responsibility to keep them safe.
