Organic Roots Eco Salon

This salon is fantastic. The organic color is great on my sensitive scalp. Lori and Jackie are very customer service oriented and personally stand behind their services. They go out of their way to make you comfortable with healthy snacks and coffee or tea. I’m not going anywhere else now that I’ve discovered this place.

Great first experience at Organic Roots. My highlights look very natural and healthy. I’ve already recommended the salon to two other people. Additionally, I think it’s very important to be mindful of the chemicals we use on our bodies and I’m glad to see an eco salon in our area.

and organic environment. Come to this one of a kind, salon. Gina is my go to stylist. She has many years of experience in the hair industry. She is an expert at what she does! Stylist, colorist or correcting someone else’s dreadful mistake. She also has a way of making you feel totally relaxed, without a care in the world. If that’s not enough reason, the salon is organic. Their hair products smell amazing! The color is gorgeous and long lasting. The space is full of natural light and very welcoming. Lori is the owner and is so friendly and accommodating. You will be thrilled and overjoyed to have found this exceptional salon!

I called last minute on a Saturday morning and Lori was able to squeeze me in at 430pm for an organic perm. I was a bit nervous getting a perm, but it came out beautifully. The curls look natural and healthy and the process was a lot quicker than expected. Thanks so much for staying after hours for me and taking the time to make sure my curls came out perfect.

I saw Lori for the second time today. She is very personable and professional. She did a wonderful job again with my partial highlights. The products she uses smell great and don’t have any harsh fumes. I am pregnant and was looking for a salon that uses responsible and safe products and practices. I am very happy I found this place. The salon itself is very modern, clean, and comfortable.

I saw Lori last week for an Ombré and root touch up. The salon space is very welcoming and looks new and modern. She was sweet, offered me water and a granola bar. She did a great job matching my existing color and highlights. I’m very happy with what she did, and pleased to have found a local hairdresser that’s good and reasonably priced

«Life is too short to have boring hair!» I am very happy with Gina’s art work! As my hair grow out the color continues to look great. That’s exactly what we’ve talked about and I found the place where I could fulfill my wish.

Upstairs Hair Affair is an oasis of calm in my busy world, and I look forward to coming here every time. Lori, the owner, is fantastic. She is calming, kind and really cares about you walking away completely satisfied. She is extremely skilled at finding just the right color for your hair, and she won’t stop until it is exactly the way you want it. The organic color not only smells great, it doesn’t burn your scalp at all. This salon and it’s products are in a class all their own. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to Upstairs Hair Affair.

I’m a city girl who now lives in the burbs, and I’ve had a hard time letting go of my attachments to all-​things-​Chicago. However, I recently decided to get my hair highlighted for the first time, and because I had no loyalty to a Chicago colorist I figured I would skip the traffic and look for someone at a salon a little closer to home. After perusing Unilocal and Facebook for recommendations, I decided to give Upstairs Hair Affair a try. What a relief it was to find them! Gina did a great job with my highlights. She was professional, upbeat, and really good at talking me through what she thought would be the best approach to brightening my blond. Lori, the owner, was very friendly and sweet, and my experience at the salon was relaxing and positive, start to finish. If I ever wind up moving into the city again, I would actually come all the way back to Morton Grove just to go to Upstairs Hair Affair!

The pictures speak for themselves. I have spent hundreds of dollars fixing my hair after what this salon did. If you like orange hair and mullets then go there, if not then do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

Lori did such a nice job on my hair. At first I was nervous to cut my hair so short, but I trusted Lori and she did an incredible job. She also highlighted my hair and did it just as I wanted. The products that she used on my hair smelled really good and felt so nice on my scalp.

For years I’ve never really cared about haircuts, until I came here. Lori is awesome! She has impressed the 2 toughest critics, my husband and my Mother!
This last visit I got a cut and color. I’ve received many compliments. My hair has never felt better after a color. Usually it felt like straw afterward. Not this time. I’ve never received an organic color before, and boy can I tell the difference.

I got a groupon as a gift and was surprized to arrive to a stylish, relaxing and professional salon, organic to boot! The prices are on the high end, but the service was spectacular. Lori was very professional and TALENTED. I got one of the best haircuts I’ve ever received here and didn’t feel pressured to buy any of her products or services (which is what always turns me off about other salons). Upstairs Hair Affair is such a Beautiful and very relaxing place. The atmosphere is so welcoming and I was made to feel very special. Lori is an AWESOME stylist and she has great ideas. I have very very curly hair and dry and damaged. Lori really made my hair soft and very managable. With curly, dry hair that’s difficult and she is AWESOME! Definenatly going back again and again.
