It’s always nice to do a road trip when I have a weekend off, and I’d been wanting to visit Barnstar since I ran across them at a brewfest a few years ago. The thing about this place is that you can’t just walk down the street and pop in – you have to WANT to drive out there(they’re a few miles out on a dirt road), but it kinda makes it more a pilgrimage. Brewmaster Dave and his wife are very friendly and accommodating, and go out of their way to make sure you’re comfortable. The place is rustic, and isn’t huge — but it’s very relaxed. There’s seating inside and out, it’s dog-friendly, and there’s even some cornhole to keep you occupied. As far as the beer, they offer a little something for everyone, and everything we had was cold and delicious(we bought a mini-growler of their pumpkin ale). They are well worth the drive.

Super cool place! Loved the blonde my Dad liked the Red and Hubby liked the Stout & the Porter so nice variety for everyone. We also tried the homemade salsa which was divine. Friendly people and several dogs to greet you when you arrive and while you enjoy the beautiful views. We also said hello to the 2 miniature horses in the property. Next time we visit we will call and see if we can bring carrots for the horses. Can’t wait to go back for a visit next time we are in Prescott.

This brewery combines amazing views with delicious beer. The owners are super friendly and happy to sit down and talk about their beer with you. Our favorites were the citra pale ale and the pumpkin ale. Make sure to plan enough time to sit back and enjoy a beer, the view and the miniature horses! I would recommend this place to anyone visiting the Prescott area, it’s worth the drive.

This is a tiny brewery in a garage/barn in Skull Valley, Arizona and it’s close to Prescott, Arizona. As of now, they are only open on Saturdays from 12 – 5. They currently offer their stout and their red ale at establishments in Prescott. However, if you go the the brewery they usually have 6 or so brews on tap. When I went they had a stout, a chocolate porter, an IPA, a citra pale ale, a blonde ale, and a pale ale. I really enjoyed their citra pale ale and it’s one of my favorite brews. All their brews tasted great and the customer service was awesome!
