My stepdaughter raved about this place so we went & tried it out. There was a long wait when we got there but we did go on father’s day. I really like the atmosphere. Dim lighting. Nice comfy booths. Friendly staff. Food was ok. drink menu had a variety of really good cocktails. We had the cheddar bombs, loaded fries, soup, & steak dinner. Everything was good & decent but not great. Place was clean. It felt nothing more than a Ruby Tuesday or an upscale applebees.

Just had the worse experience. This is my third time at this restaurant and likely my last. 1st visit was good, second was eh. this visit was downright awful. Little to do with the food itself. Everything to do with the service. We received drinks that had an aftertaste of dish liquid or some sort of chemical. I very politely asked if we could have another drink and from that point we were stamped with a «Scarlett letter». I’m not Sure if I offended the waiter by asking for a different drink but from that point it seemed we were no longer worthy of good service. The second set of drinks which included plain water had the same aftertaste. The waiters response was Nothing’s wrong with anyone else’s drink. Really Mr. Waiter, so I guess I’m lying? I didn’t get nasty or anything but advised him we would not have any drinks this round and proceeded with ordering. A salad and a steak. The steak came and the 2nd waiter asked, did I still want the salad!!! Hmm, I guess not since my food is here. I advised him not to worry about the salad with a smile. 5 minutes later Mr. Drink special brings a salad. I politely declined, asked for a to go box and a manager because at this point I just want to leave. The manager comes by, And gives me a look like I’ve disturbed her from doing something more important. She said ok I’ll look into it and take the salad and the drink off and walked off! Honestly, thats all I wanted but that was a given. Her attitude was just as nonchalant and un-moved as the waiter! Let me add that I very rarely ask for managers. When I receive poor service, my dissatisfaction reflects in the tip. I am a true foodie who eats out a lot, from 5 star experiences to budget dinner stops like Cheddars! I typically set my expectation based on the price point of the restaurant. Needless to say, I did’t have high expectations of this place but I do expect basic Customer Service where ever I go and Cheddars’s just fell far short of the basic bar. I would recommend if you’re in this area, definitely try the other eateries. I regretfully didn’t. Spend your money at businesses that appreciate your business and understand the concept of good Customer service!

They are slow but their food is good. They have a nice bathroom unlike some places. You can definitely freeze to death sometimes you have to wait a while. By Jaylenn, age 8

Still just a two star restaurant. I find this place to be very mediocre. The service is good and the ambiance is nice and décor pleasing, but the food is just… OK. honestly, before we decided to try this place again, it was between here, Copeland’s or Outback. Should have gone to Outback. You should too. Two beers on tap and even tho the menu says they had Sam Adams, they did not. Potato skins were just… alright. Ribs and shrimp were just… alright. Mediocre at best and certainly nothing to write home about. I see no reason to come back here. Aquarium is large and very well maintained and stocked tho. That’s about the only thing that stands out here.

Sure, it’s a chain… but it’s a good one! It is still fairly new and Cheddar’s isn’t too common around here, so it almost doesn’t feel like one to me. This is the only Cheddar’s that I have been to. My mom and grandma love this place and drive here from Metairie often to eat and shop at the new outside mall. The prices are nice! There are many options on the menu that are below 10 dollars. Their alcoholic beverages are also pretty cheap. I haven’t had one, so I’m not sure how worth their value they are. My mom and grandma love to order the croissants which come 3 to an order. I tried one the other day when we went, and they really are delicious. I ordered the sweet heat chicken and shrimp off of the«light menu»(I personally love when restaurants have one of these). The chicken was cooked properly(not rubbery — like some establishments) and the portion size was perfect. The sauce was yummy and made the rice taste good too. The side salad that it came with was also surprisingly tasty. Service was fine. No complaints here!

25 minute wait in a Monday night… Not a good first impression… Left without even bothering to try them out… Doubtful we will return.

I loved Cheddar’s when I first ate there in Dallas Texas. The Monte Cristo is the bomb and the mac & cheese is really good the croissants also. The drinks are large, you’re definitely taking home leftovers after this experience. Consistently good food!

I usually come here for lunch, since it’s very close to my work. Food is pretty good for chain type restaurant. Service can be kind of slow is my only real complaint. If it wasn’t for that I would come here more often, but I’m usually on a time limit.

As a rule the food is excellent but today was not so good. But the waitress and manager we’re very polite and made the situation better. I do not reccomend the chicken fried steak. The croissants are the best. Love the potato soup and the Month Chrito sandwich.

Poor new waiter. He was good but so lost. Didn’t bring out our salads and someone in my party had to send their steak back twice and finally conceded and had chewy undercooked steak. And no one said I’m sorry, let me take care of that for you. Used to be good but is going down hill, fast.

Cockroach in salad! Its a shame because we had wonderful meal, paid and packed up our leftovers when a cockroach waltzed out of my salad. I screamed and the waitress removed the salad. The Manager apologized but did not offer to pay for the meal. We exited with out leftovers even though I had the creeps big time. I made it about 2/3’s of the way back to Gulfport before I got sick. Needless to say the leftovers went in the garbage. Up till now I really enjoyed Cheddar’s but I will never go their again. Cheryl from Gulfport

It’s just OK. I have avoided this place because it’s a chain, but went with my son and grandson. We had nachos as an appetizer. They were pretty good but light on the cheese. I had the steak and ribs plate. The steak was small and thin and served on a bed of onion strings. The steak was good, but nothing I couldn’t get elsewhere. The ribs had good taste and I liked the BBQ sauce taste very much, but they were very dry and I am pretty sure the smoke taste came from liquid smoke rather than actual smoking(or so it tasted). I had the mango tea which was very good. The server was acceptable, not great but certainly not bad. I would not seek to go back as you can get everything they have there better somewhere else.

This review is specifically for the location in Slidell, LA. If you are planning to meet there with a group, be aware that they will NOT even put you on the waiting list for a table until all parties have arrived. So, if you arrive 45 minutes before your planned get together in hopes of getting a table– forget it, they refuse to even put you on the list. So, after I was there an hour and 20 minutes(waiting for ALL parties to arrive), I was told«OK, we will now put you on the list. Oops, sorry, there is an hour wait at this time!» They don’t do reservations either, but most restaurants will at the very least put your name on the waiting list when you arrive, or at least attempt to seat you when some of the group has arrived. We ended up going across the parking lot to another place.

Never Skips a BEAT! One of my family’s favorite spots. The service is always friendly, The food comes out in a fairly reasonable time, and is delicious. This time I had the Smokehouse Burger. It was mouth watering! Perfectly cooked. Now the Spinach Dip wasn’t all that. Not creamy enough. And I’m not fond of the cheese that much. Other than that, it gets 4Stars from me!

Was better than I expected! The service was really good. Our waitress was super attentive. Appreciated her suggestions too! The food was good. Better than an Applebee’s. LOL and the portions were giant. We should have split our plate. Drinks were made really well. Margarita on the rocks and Bloody Mary both tasted great! Over all good. Will come back

I was happy to find a Cheddars on my way through to New Orleans. We used to go back when we lived in Illinois. No Cajun food that I saw on the menu and the cheese soup is strangely gone now. But otherwise it’s a very affordable and attractive restaurant with good food. Spasagna is still in the menu! Make sure you order some honey butter croissants before the meal. Yum. I had a Monte Cristo, which is a battered and fried sandwich, sprinkled with powdered sugar and served with raspberry jelly and a side. I got French fries and they were also great.

This place is definitely for the eccentric. From the 100 or so African cichlids in the saltwater tank to the large rotating fans spinning in the ceiling. The food is good. Like a Cracker Barrel with a modern twist on it. Like trey yuen in Hammond, everyone should experience the inside at least once. The food is like an outback or Houston’s, but with more variety. It is definitely a place for the exotic.

Blah. You’re getting two stars because you actually had fish and chips, Sam Adams on tap AND that bitchin’ aquarium by the bar. But even though they had fish and chips, they were mediocre. Could have gotten a catfish plate and fries for less. The beer batter was barely beer batter, from what I remember. My friend got the same thing and said the same exact thing. I might try it again, but ONLY if there isn’t somewhere else I’d rather go at that time.

Wonderfully nice server. Could have used better attention to the drinks but it was Sunday after church busy so i understand. LOTS of food in the appetizers and it was good(nachos and cheese bites). Sanwiches and sides were pretty common. Not bad but not OMG-I-AM-CRAVING good either. All in all a good restaurant, very busy, mid range pricing and pretty good service.

Love Cheddars. Been to the one in Mckinney Texas numerous times so when we saw this one in Slidell we had to stop in. Strawberry lemonade was delicious as was the pot pie and double decker club. New mac and cheese side was cheesy and delicious. Don’t skip dessert. Hot chocolate chip cookie with ice cream is awesome. Our server, Carter, was super friendly and personable. Recommending items and dressings for us to try. Nice sized portions and amazing prices.

The food here actually is really good & the service is fine. The portions are large & the place itself is very modern and nice. The crowd this place attracts though is just not good. A lot of the customers are loud and rude. They often have large parties that are just completely obnoxious

If my review was only based on the host that seats you, this place would only get 1 star. I walk in after two women with two small children. They went to be seated by one hostess who had a someone following her. The woman following turned, gave me a nasty look and walked away. I waited. Another hostess showed up, was very nice and seated me in a booth in the bar area. There is plenty of parking, and despite the construction surrounding the area, the lot is easy to get to. The parking lot and where you enter the restaurant are very nice and neat. There is a beach feeling to the restaurant with the décor. The ceiling fans look very cool, and the fish tank separating the bar area from the restaurant was very cool. There were constantly 3 – 4 of the wait staff at all times just standing by the bar and chit-chatting. They evidently like each other. My waiter was very nice and prompt. I don’t recall him introducing himself, but the receipt stated that his name is Jory. I tried the spiked cherry limeade(tart and refreshing) and the chicken pot pie(from the taste, it was made on site, homemade) was served hot and was quite good. I think that if I am in the area again, I will give them another try, just because I think they deserve it.

They pride themselves on the«fresh» food. We went in for lunch. The atmosphere is very nice. Looks like an updated Olive Garden. Huge parking lot with ample parking. The food is alright here also. They have a ton of booth seating available and the bar is in a separate part of the restaurant. The staff is very friendly. But they didn’t suggest much when asked what a good dish is. Got the queso dip and salsa as an appetizer and they didn’t give us enough chips to even get half of the salsa down. Lol. But did give us more chips when we asked. Not sure if our server had a lot of tables but she didn’t visit the table as frequently as we would have liked. Needed more napkins, refills etc. The burgers aren’t anything special but good. And the chicken sandwich was good but would have been better without the bread. Atmosphere is nice and quiet. Didn’t try desert but maybe I’ll be back in a few months when they get everything down packed.
