Seat yourself. Service is super prompt and the waitresses take care of you as a team and is super friendly. Small place seats maybe 50 people when packed. When we arrived, along with smaller tables, there were 2 tables of 9 people each. We caught tail end of breakfast rush at 9:15 and got out by 9:50. I had ½ order biscuits(one split biscuit) and gravy. The man had a meal of 2 eggs and tenderloin(pork by default) came with 2 sides(home fries and upgraded to grits) and toast or biscuit. Not my usual style food, but all was fine. Super white creamy(sausage?) gravy. Nothing was salty, highly flavored or spiced but tobasco or Louisiana hot sauce was available. Pineapple upside down cake for desert, others available too. They allow smoking. Though there were a few people smoking in the little place I wasn’t noticible. They must have good ventilation. The customers are a mix of truckers and families. All in all, promptest ever friendly service with a smile and some food in the belly.

New name: Miss Betty’s. Excellent diner food. The catfish was perfectly cooked. The country fried steak was perfectly seasoned. Clean, fast & friendly service, very busy. Great fried apples; great potato salad.

I was looking for some home cooked vs. chain food. Seeking cheese eggs and hash browns, we stopped in. Staff is friendly and it’s cozy. Reasonably priced. Food was decent, I prefer more flavor but understand and respect dietary considerations

Now called Karen’s Diner, this little joint was AWESOME. Our waitress was super sweet and you could tell this was thee spot for the locals. Actually, this is probably the only spot for the locals as there is not much to the town. If you want good southern comfort food, this is the place to go.

Now don’t take this the wrong way, but I’m not from the south. I couldn’t figure out if catfish is fresh or not due to the fact that it’s fried… I mean I have had some really good fish sticks in my life, but I was a child and wasn’t rating them for Unilocal. Not bad as far as dive dinner food goes. The help was nice and got our orders correct. I almost gave them a three just cause one of our friends is a smoker from California and has never been able to sit in a diner and have a smoke after her meal. I would stop her before eating fast food or at the gas station across the street. NOTE: I clicked saying that this place wasn’t good for children, but that’s only if you care about secondhand smoke.
