The food is lovely. Mom had flounder in a light butter sauce with angel hair pasta with veggies. She said it was delicious, and it smelled heavenly. I had lobster ravioli and a house salad — both were perfect. The portions were just right — with a little left to take home for later. The chef has a light, talented hand with the garlic and I was very happy to not have heartburn after the meal. Small, lovely place — get there early or make reservations.

I like trying new places, and my husband and I are always interested in finding a convenient new favorites. Unfortunately, I probably wouldn’t go back here. When you walk in, you’re already at the tables. There’s no host, just whoever’s apparently closest to the door when you come in. We received a harried, «let me see if we have anything available.» While we could see with our eyes that there were plenty of open tables. The bread and water were brought quickly. The bread was okay. I was a little put off by the oil plate already placed at the table. My paranoid self wonders how many people are tempted to dip their fingers in, just because they can. My husband and I both ordered the lamb special. They were running low on their house made noodles so they subbed mine for a mushroom risotto. The food came out hot. But the lamb was way overdone. I think it would’ve been great, but for that. My husband visited the restrooms, which are greatly in need of an update. They seemed to be an unfortunate afterthought, with decaying faucets. All these factors would normally result in an average review, but for the fact that the lamb special was $ 30/plate. The TL: DR version. Everything was average or below and not worth $ 30/plate. Might be a decent place to stop for a post work glass of wine, but that’s it.

I tried Mezza Luna at lunch after looking at their great review score. Honestly, i hope its better during dinner because I wasnt impressed. Pro’s: The bread is delicious! It isnt like the average Italian bread served, its flavored well. The waitress was also attentive in filling the bread as needed. Con’s: The parking lot is very small. I mean VERY small, in fact I was surprised the car would even fit into the space. Some of the bread(although good) was soft and cold while some was nice and warm. The lunch menu was quite small and not too diverse(very limited veggie options), the waitress wasnt too friendly, I asked for sausage with my eggplant parm and I was nearly done with my meal before it even arrived, the portions werent great as far as my eggplant parm. there were two small-medium eggplant medalians but the portion of pasta was decent. Beverages are canned, not fountain so maybe order a water as well.

Had dinner here last night and the Orecchiette Pugliese is the best pasta dish I’ve ever eaten. The service is fantastic and the atmosphere is warm and friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good authentic Italian restaurant. I will definitely be back for more.

I’m not sure what is going on with the other reviews because this place is not that good. Saying the best meal you’ve eaten just can’t be true. Bread was a bit dry, meal was slightly above Olive Garden.

Mezza Luna is beyond amazing. It reminds my husband and I of the restaurants we ate at during our honeymoon in Rome. The food is authentic and the service has always been great. Highly recommend.

A seriously awesome Italian joint in Smyrna! I had driven by for a while, wondering if it was worth a stop. Now, I’m not sure how I’ll stay away. The authenticity and friendliness of the owner and staff is apparent upon entry and the care that goes in to ensuring each guest has a fantastic dining experience. I had a glass of barbera, which was fantastic. The bread was perfect. I had a house salad to start(which has one of the best Italian dressings I’ve ever had)…and the risotto with mushrooms, which was one of the best I’ve ever had. If you’re in the Sminings area, or even if you’re not, this adorably awesome Italian restaurant is worth a visit.

First off, the bread is delicious! I had the Chilean sea bass which was just OK! The fish seemed a bit oily and the pasta sauce had an over powering lemon flavor. I’m just not a fan of this sauce… tried it once & I won’t get it again. I should’ve asked more questions about how the dish was prepared but all I heard was«Chilean sea bass» and thought YUMMMMM!!!(I love fish). But I wasn’t a fan of this dish at all. My friend had the pescatora with clams, mussels, shrimp and calamari. I believe they had two difference pescatora on the menu. Her food was delicious! Tiramisu: I ordered it to go because of the amazing reviews about it. Wasn’t much to talk about. It was very average and not the best I’ve had. I didn’t LOVE my food, but I’d definitely come back to try something else because who doesn’t love pasta?

I have been contemplating this review since I first came here on my birthday this year(in March). The reason is because I want to keep this a hidden gem, but it wouldn’t be fair to deprive others who love Italian food to not come here. You’re getting everything fresh from the salad dressing to the service. The cooks and servers are FOB and I wouldn’t have it any other way. The wine is amazing(Italian reds are my favorites) and the pasta is always delicious. The velvety texture and the time they take to season everything just so is exactly what I and anyone else is looking for in a restaurant. Dessert — cannot go wrong with the tiramisu — soft and creamy and just the right amount of sweetness.

DELICIOUS. Everything was divine starting with the bread. We tried the tomatoe bisque which came out piping hot and was loaded with incredible flavor. I ordered grouper with angel hair pasta. The fish was cooked to perfection and had an amazing crust along with ripe tomatoes. The portion was enormous and the price was incredibly reasonable. My boyfriend had the linguine with petite clams. He loved it. The sauce it comes in is a light flavorful buttery sauce. We each had a glass of red wine. Mine was a medium bodied called Polvaro Nero Rosso. It’s my new favorite Italian wine. We also had dessert. I mean up to that point everything was inanely good so we had to have tiramisu and just as we suspected it was also perfection. The Chef is a native of Italy who takes pride in his food, and hospitality. This is officially my favorite restaurant in Smyrna.

We have lived near here for a while now and I honestly didn’t know it existed. It’s very small but incredibly charming on the inside, they had a live singer which was adorable and there seemed to be a large waitlist for tonight but we managed to get a table. The bread was probably the best I’ve ever had, a Rosemary focaccia. The prosecco was smooth and yummy, the Chianti was velvety and delicious. It got very crowded as the night went on with lots of older folks clearly enjoying copious amounts of wine. The Chilean sea bass was AWESOME with perfect olive garlic sauce, and the penne alla vodka with pancetta was hearty and flavorful, I had almost half my plate for leftovers because it was so huge. I loved the lively vibe and the knowledgable staff, we had a really great time tonight.

I don’t know where to start… Everything was amazing! The food, service, and wine. I am a sucker for warm bread. Their bread is really good! I had their Greek salad and my husband had a Caesar salad to start. If I didn’t feel like I would’ve been judged I would’ve licked the dressing off my plate after I finished my salad! It was so yummy! For our entrée we both had their special which was the crab and shrimp ravioli! Again… If I didn’t feel like I would’ve been judged I would’ve licked the plate. Lol. It was delicious! My husband had a glass of their new wine Castle Sole… He loved it! To top it all off… the chef and owner stopped by our table to greet us and make sure everything was good. It’s the little things. :-) I would highly recommend this place!

This place is a gem. I never would have thought to come here. It’s located next to a liquor store, has limited parking, it’s one of those places that you overlook and wouldn’t think is too spectacular. But please, give this place a try, you’ll be doing your tastebuds a favor. I ordered the seafood spaghetti and it was done amazingly well. The pasta was a perfect al dentè, the sauce wasn’t to sweet or rich or overbearing, it had shrimp, muscles, clams and sun dried tomatoes… it was really good. My grandmother ordered the lasagna bolognese, and I must admit, it was better than my dish. It literally melts in your mouth when you have a bite… seriously. I’d totally recommend that for a first time customer, it will hook you. The ambiance is aight, but you’re not there to look at pretty walls, you’re their to be dined wonderfully… the service was spot on… overall, a great place to go.

Mezza Luna is a cute, small, Italian restaurant located on Spring road across from Rev Coffee. There are not very many tables and it is pleasantly small and made for a lovely Sunday Date night. The staff is fantastic and very knowledgeable of the menu and specials. There were not very many other guests so it was very quiet. The atmosphere was really nice and very authentically Italian. The food, we started with a Greek salad, it was amazing: very fresh salad leaves, banana peppers, black olives, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese and the dressing was fantastic! We ate all of it. For entrees I got the gnocchi with Vodka sauce. The last time I had gnocchi this good, was my last visit to Positano, Italy. The gnocchi was so light, yet flavorful, like little pillows of heaven in vodka sauce. I finished all of it and mopped up my sauce with the amazing bread on the table. My boyfriend ordered their special with clams over mushroom pasta. The sauce was amazing and the clams were cooked to perfection, not rubbery at all and the entire dish was amazing, he finished all of his as well. We didn’t have room for dessert, but I’m sure it would have been fantastic. We will for sure be back!

Tony and Luigi have created the most authentic Italian in Atlanta! Once you enter the quaint setting you instantly enter Italy. The food is exquisite. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Once you visit a few times they’ll remember your name and will even go off the menu and surprise you if you like. I love this place!

I set the bar high for Italian food; I am from NJ and grew up eating a lot of pasta and sauce and find my husband can cook better italian than most places we go to. My quest to find a true italian restaurant continues. I had the white clam sauce(my favorite) and was disappointed that it was heavily buttered and had tomatoes in it. In my mind, true white clam sauce has clams, parsley, garlic, white wine and clam juice… not butter, or tomatoes.

When I first came here on April of 2013, this place sucked. I gave it 3 stars since I was nice. I pass by this place every day going home from work. Every time I passed by, I saw how empty it was. I could tell no one was going because they hired ppl to stand outside with signs. They were also on Scoutmob. I thought this place wouldn’t last 2 weeks. Well, it lasted for a while. About a year ago, another group of owners came in and took over. They changed it for the better. I was surprised when I found that the average Unilocal review was 4.5 stars. I decided to go check it out again. It has changed. The food was much better. There didn’t have fishy-smelling disgusting seafood anymore. Everything seemed fresh and delicious. I tried their Tagliatelle al Cartaccio. Just like the name implied, this was cooked in parchment paper. It came out looking lovely. It was like unwrapping a huge candy from its wrapper. I loved the flavor of the marinara sauce. It had a nice tangy, savory tomato flavor. The seafood tasted fresh and the homemade pasta had a nice bite to it. This was a great dish. I also had their Fettuccine alla Pescatora. It’s another seafood pasta dish. With this dish, you can have it with red or white sauce. I had it with white sauce because they recommended it. I liked it. I loved the garlicky, buttery flavor of the white sauce. The pasta was also homemade, and it was good. The seafood tasted nice and fresh. I loved it. The only problem was the sand. I was crunching through them with every bite. For dessert I tried the Antipasto Romano. It’s actually an appetizer. But that’s how I roll. It’s just a huge plate of cheese, cured meats, and veggies. I loved the cured meats. I couldn’t tell you what they were, but they had 3 – 4 kinds of cured meats. I also loved the artichoke hearts, olives, sundried tomatoes, and the pickled peppers in the dish. They all tasted fresh and good. The staff is welcoming and friendly. I met both of the owners. They are great guys. The space is small though. It gets busy during the weekend. So make a reservation or prepare to wait. This is definitely one of the best Italian restaurants in the Smyrna area.
