The Verge Salon

This salon is just AMAZING. I came here once before, and they did great. This time I was a little worried that I just got lucky the first time around, but boy, was I wrong. So much talent here! Everything I wrote in my previous review still holds true. Plus, I got to experience a new stylist who gave me such great hair! Brigid listened to everything I wanted and more!
However, I would recommend to anyone who has a lot of hair (mine comes down passed my mid back) to make sure the salon knows. I had booked a cut and color, but I just have sooo much hair that it took longer than they expected. (Realistically, I couldn’t expect them to anticipate that since they didn’t know what style ahead of time and coloring short hair vs long hair is obviously going to take much longer. Not to mention like I said before: sooooo much hair. Plus, no one wants a hair cut that’s been rushed through especially since hair does not grow back over night.) Unfortunately, I had to reschedule the cut for another time. But I definitely appreciate Brigid for letting me know so that we could work something out where she wouldn’t have to rush through my hair cut. I also want to make sure everyone knows that they offered to have another stylist cut my hair; however, I just liked Brigid so much that I preferred to have her cut my hair as well.

I’ve been getting cuts and color from Tye for months now. I don’t know why it’s taken me so long to leave a review, but probably because she feels more like my friend than my hair stylist :)
I’m Asian and have super short pixie hair, and Tye always gives me a fun cut that’s got a little something different. We’ve tried undercuts, and V-​shapes in the back, and now… SILVER COLOR! I went from all natural black hair to silver /​platinum blonde and she did an AMAZING JOB. She talks through every step of the coloring process and is extra careful that the lightener doesn’t burn off my scalp. (Small sacrifices for killer color, right?)
I love getting my hair done with Tye. She’s SUPER talented, easy to talk to, and reasonably priced. She’s the best… arooooound!

Love this salon! Staff is super friendly, you can book your appt online, and Ben is great! He is a great listener and always delivers exactly what I ask for!

The rates are reasonably priced. The cut I received was very nice but at the time I wasn’t aware that they don’t use curling irons and don’t curl your hair. My hair texture needs to have some sort of bump to it. With my really short cut I needed a very small curling iron to curl the back. They found another hairdresser that had a small flatiron to curl my hair. So I left a little frustrated that they were going to let me leave with no curl to my cut. In the end, the cut actually came out really nice when I curl it myself.

I hate to write this review as my only reason for going to this location was as part of my research of Bob Steele Salon. They were hiring and I wanted to experience the company from an outside perspective.
Because I am in transition money is tight hence the choice of the Verge verses one of the higher end locations. Also I am closer to Smyrna.
I looked online and inquired about an appointment. I was told I could not book online for my first visit. I would have to call in. I was given a choice of a few ladies and their availability. I picked Dakota for a Saturday 12:30 appt. Parking is tricky as multiple businesses outweigh the parking spaces but I found it well enough.
I checked in and Dakota came fairly quickly. After a few pleasantries and showing a pic or two of what I wanted she advised a razor cut. She cut it dry, no wash, just a quick dry and style. I paid (1^st timers get 20%off). $ 23 for a haircut. Very nice. But you get what you pay for.
Not a bad experience at all… Until I drive home and discover she has razor cut 3 – 4 pieces of my hair at the left part of my crown 2−3inches shorter than the rest of my hair. Omg.
By Monday I snapped a pic of it and sent it to mgnt. I received an email from customer relations that they would like to rectify the situation. I agreed to come in the next day to let the Educator look at it. He did so through a very odd experience, which perplexed me even after I left. I walked right past Dakota but never once was she brought over to look at her mistake. A mistake I am going to have to deal with for some time now. Even a refund will not fix it.
I cover it as best I can and I am in awe that she did not notice her mistake then. Or if she did, she did not acknowledge it. I cannot imagine she saw it and ignored it.
I appreciate the refund minus my $ 6 tip but it does not grow my hair back any faster. An apology from Dakota would have been nice and her being brought over to see her error should have happened.

I been looking for a local hair spot & now I Love this salon! Very friendly & cute. Reasonable prices… My haircut looks great, Will certainly be back!

I came here after my regular stylist left my old salon. Summer cut my hair, and it looks better than it has in well over a year. She was very meticulous and thorough. The next day, I was able to wake up and go without washing my hair. That night at a coffee shop, a guy stopped me and said, «Excuse me… Where did you get your hair cut? Are you a stylist? It looks amazing!» If that’s not a good hair cut, I don’t know what is.

I came with a group of friends recently for a blowout, and we had a great time! My stylist was super friendly and listened to exactly what I wanted: curls! My hair is naturally wavy, and I either leave it that way or blow it straight. I haven’t mastered the art of curling it myself yet!
When it was all said and done, the curls looked great! She used a flat iron instead of a curling iron to do it from my recommendation. My hair holds a curl, but holds flat iron curls better for some reason. So, she did that, but had a different technique than what I’ve seen at my usual salon. She started on the right side, where I part my hair, and went around to the left side. My usual hair person starts at the back, where my hair is thickest, and moves to the font. Again, it looked great when she was finished, but the technique was unusual.
Overall, I’d come back for a blowout if I couldn’t get into my usual salon. It’s a great place, and would come back for often if I didn’t already have a preferred stylist.
Side note: they offer wedding services for the bride and bridal party for a reasonable price!

I really do love this place! It’s a great location and nicely put together. I see Row and she is super sweet and does a GREAT job with my hair. And the prices are SO affordable! I also really appreciate that they do have later appointments some nights. I work in the beauty industry too and work the same exact hours as most salons, so it’s been really tough to find a place. So glad I don’t have to look anymore.

I love this new concept from Bob Steele Salon. Basically they set up a satellite salon just a few miles from their Vinings location, allowing new stylists to literally «cut» their chops. These new Level 1 — 3 stylists are all top notch, and you can’t beat the quality for the price. I just got a cut, glaze, and bought products for only ~$ 60. Also, be sure to book your next appointment when you’re checking out for a 10% discount off your next service.
