When I’m looking for something different I go here, I love to go here and browse their clothes. They have some really cool unique pieces. Some of their stuff is a bit pricey. They also have really fun house stuff, there is a lot of stuff to look at! Be prepared to spend some time in this store! You’ll need time to browse.

Snohomish, WA is full of strange little stores like Joyworks, and by strange, I mean a bunch of different types of items arranged on different levels/floors with different themes, and sometimes organized by different color? It’s a hodgepodge of things that reminds me of an older approach to retail, like back in the days of card/gift/pharmacies. Although a little scatterbrained, it’s fun and appreciated. What’s not appreciated is the terrible customer service. Really, I don’t require much — just a nod of acknowledgement, and maybe a quick check in while I’m obviously searching for sizes. Unfortunately, I got«the look» —(how people can manage to stare right through you AND look disappointed, I’ll never understand) from two employees. I left with only a mere $ 5.00 purchase instead of the armful of cute sweaters I wanted(and would have purchased under different circumstances).

Visited the store and purchase some unique finds. The store is huge(by downtown Snohomish standards) and you can easily get lost while browsing through their displays. Items range from signs to clothing to jewelry to food to antiques to knick knacks. There are two floors and a number of rooms(very«choppy» layout) with different themes(mostly by color). There was a line at the counter since there was only one cashier on a busy Sunday. It was hard to tell where the line started and ended because there were displays everywhere including the floor! Overall, one of the better stores downtown, but could certainly use more staff on busy days.

I never know what to get my wife… until now! The joyworks what can I say I walk in and tell them the size and they wrap and give it to me ready to go. It is seriously one of the best things in the world no longer do I have to guess. By the way she has liked everything so far. Thanks joywork ladies… Hope my wife does not read this…

The review by Leah H. is spot on… I live in Snohomish and actually own another non-competing business in Snohomish… I absolutely adore the items this store carries and even buy items here to use as display in my own shop. My problem is the absolute and total disregard for customer service I’ve repeatedly experienced. The first time — I went in the day after Christmas to buy an ornament for my family’s get together and ornament exchange. I picked up a gorgeous glass ice skate, the last one they had. AFTER I PAIDFORIT, the sales person(while talking to the other women behind the counter) broke the ornament while wrapping it. Accidents happen, and even though I was really bummed that I couldn’t take that ornament to the exchange, I found a different one to take in its place. After finishing the transaction, I asked if I could take the broken, useless ornament THEYHADBROKEN, to show my family what I had originally chosen — since I’d chosen it to commemorate my deceased grandfather, who’d been an ice skater. The woman who’d broken it explained the situation to a much older woman behind the counter… EXPLAINEDTHATSHEHADBROKENIT… and the older woman told her I’d have to pay for it if I wanted to take it. Are you kidding me? The woman who originally broke the piece did give it to me to take, but I left with a bad taste in my mouth due to the attitude of what I perceived to be the owner. Second time — I went in the shop in mid-February to find a display piece for my shop, and picked up a neat bent wire rack priced at $ 13.99. It’s extremely similar to another rack I’d picked up in the shop last summer for thhearmeroar. nete same price, so I thought nothing of it. While checking out, the woman behind the counter(when she stopped talking to the other employees long enough to acknowledge me) told me FOURTIMES that she was sure the price was too good, and that it must have been mismarked. This wasn’t a what-a-screaming-deal you got congratulations, this was a surely-you-switched-the-tags accusation. I know that everyone can have off days, and I certainly plan to shop at Joyworks again for now… but I do hope they can take notice of the fact that just having a fantastic store with wonderful displays and products isn’t enough to insure great ratings. The customer’s experience is more important than ever these days, and I think Joyworks has a little work to do in that arena.

I love the products at Joyworks and hate the experience. It’s the type of store you can explore and get lost in, with unique items and great displays. The clothing section, is updated often and while it skews older, is often very stylish. The prices are on the high side though, and the service is non-existent. Often several people will be behind the counter and talk to each other while checking you out. As a younger shopper I’ve found the staff dismissive and condescending, even when making large purchases.

Joyworks is really a fun store to shop in — they just have lots of things you can take ideas from. The downstairs is my favorite area! They have their own blog too —
I’m dinging them one star because I’m cheap and sometimes I think their pricing is a touch on the high side.
