Lots of fun! Pizza is sooooo amazing & oh, the beers! You can sit outside & watch the people pass, meet new friends next to you. I am an IPA fan, one word… have a taster of the Swami’s IPA before you order a pint. So many delious beers & people!

Pizza port has some of the best pizza in the area… hands down. Gluten free pizza is excellent — I especially have loved the Laihana and Garlic Veggie. Hubs walked in and saw someone else’s regular pepperoni pizza and went for it, though he’s usually a fan of the specialty pizzas. It did look pretty ridiculous, and apparently it tasted just as awesome as it looked… you know, for a basic pepperoni pizza. No gluten free beers here, but they do have wine, and very decently priced. I believe it was $ 6/glass. I prefer the ambiance of this one over the locations in Carlsbad. This one is a bit more cozy and seemed to be less INSANE than the other ones(they are always packed). Not sure, maybe I just came at the right time of day when I was here(it was around 5pm). They have a small patio but we were able to find a seat out there without an issue.

I always loved coming to this location to grab a pizza and take it home. The last time I went however was far less than stellar. I ordered a bbq chicken pizza, one of my standards. There was nearly NO chicken on the pizza. We could count the number of chunks on one hand. Most pieces had no chicken at all. I tried using their email feedback and didn’t get a reply. They have grown too big to care?

Hubby and I have been to the Carlsbad Pizza Port a couple times and decided to check this one out. We took the back roads to get here and found the drive pleasant and quick, granted it was a Saturday night, not a weeknight. We were able to secure a parking spot right at the end of the little strip. It appears there was parking in the back of some establishments but I’m not certain… but perhaps that’s how they alleviate the limited parking on the street. We arrived at 7pm and lucked out, there were only 2 people ahead of us ordering. By the time we put in our order, the line had grown to 10… but still wasn’t out the door. The restaurant itself is smaller than its Carlsbad counterpart, with picnic bench seating on the floor and some bar seating by the door and out front. There was some seating by the arcade games but the area was noisy and teeming with kids so we headed out front and found a couple of stools by the window with a view of the Pizza Port team preparing the pizzas, which I found highly entertaining(I’m easily fascinated, I suppose). The front patio is dog friendly and perfect for people watching. Hubby had ordered an IPA from the beer counter and nursed that until our beer buddies were ready about 20 minutes later. Those beer buddies though… never having had one before, I didn’t realize the basket of them was mine… they are made in a pizza shape and cut up into squares and then copious amounts of garlic and herbs are loaded onto it and then they’re stuffed into a basket with a side of marinara and ranch. As I inhaled them, hubby warned I wouldn’t have room for pizza, so I reluctantly set some aside. Another 15 – 20 minutes went by and finally our pizza order was called(they use their little overhead system and call your name and you go to the counter to pick up your order). We’d ordered the small Roma(10″, 6 slices) which is the closest thing there to a Supreme pizza with lots of meat and veggies and CHEESE baked over everything. It’s a little slice of heaven. and I’m hoping and praying that heaven will have pizza just like this. The crust is thick and soft, the toppings are fresh and perfect. There were moments of utter silence when we just ate, with little«mmmm“s or «oh yeah“s tossed into the mix to emphasize deliciousness. Even though we ordered a small, we still had a large slice and beer buddies that we boxed and took home. If your pizza is heavy on the toppings, a small would be more than enough for one person and if you order buddies or other sides, it would probably be enough for two.

Told the bartender lee our pitcher tasted funny and he says, cool no refunds… I just wanted you to check the tap or taste it to make sure it’s supposed to taste like flat crappy hef. Instead he gets offended, even though he didn’t even brew the beer… and proceeds to tell the entire 15+ member party to leave the restaurant and removes all beer from the the table that was already purchased. Annnnd would not refund the beer. So not only did he pour a shitty beer, he stole it afterwards and would not refund it back. We won’t be back, nor will our friends. As they say, good service might receive one or two positive reviews, but bad service will receive ten +. Dear pizza port ownership/management, please do not hire snoby, little punk bitches as bar tenders… If I say the beer tastes funky… test it. If you test it and tell me it’s normal I’ll suck it up. If you cry like a bitch and tell us to leave cuz your offended, well then I’m gonna leave and make sure the community hears about your service. Thanks for nothing.

I know this is a pizza and beer place but to me it’s the type of place you go to in high school to hang out with friends because it’s cheap. But this place isn’t that cheap. I’d so much rather go to a ton of other places before going here again. The pizza is just mediocre and the atmosphere is the equivalent of a messy kid’s birthday party.

Solana Beach is beautiful and always a delight to visit! We really like the Pizza Port in Carlsbad but decided to visit this location because it is near for us. This location is easily accessible but there can be shortage of parking. We ordered beer bites and a small Roma Pizza. Both the items were amazing and enough for two people! I am a fan and highly recommend. The best I saw here was that the manager came around to the workers and encouraged them with appreciative words. Please visit and enjoy!

decent pizza and good craft brews… I also tried the«hot and spicy»(Dare you say Buffalo) wings, which were average at best… they bake them in the pizza oven, and then just dump Frank’s red hot indiscriminately over the top. Definitely not as good as some of the NYC bars, i’m used to.

** 3.5STARS** Pizza Port is a SD staple, and perfectly captures the beachy casual vibe that is prominent in most of the county. Yet, during the four years I lived here, I never visited Pizza Port. I was led to believe I made a terrible mistake, but when I finally tried it, it didn’t really match up to my expectations. I wanted to try out some of their original pizzas, so I passed on the pretty good lunch deal(2 slices of pep/cheese/pizza of the day + beer for around $ 10) and ordered a small pizza to share. We got half VALLARTA(bacon, olives, onions, and jalepenos), and half CARLSBAD(pesto, grilled chicken, sundried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, and feta). This tiny personal pizza was about $ 10 by itself, and they say it’s 6 «slices,» but they’re slices for BABIES! I made pizzas in college that were the same size, but we sliced them into 4 pieces. Also, surprisingly they use the same technique to cook the pizza that we did in the dining hall. It just goes on a slow-ass conveyor belt and results in some thick, doughy pizza. I didn’t hate it, but it wasn’t good that a small pizza I spent $ 10 on reminded me of dining hall pizza. However, they do redeem themselves with their friendly service and beer. They have a great selection of their own and other local craft beers. The Swamis IPA is excellent and an IPA without a doubt. I had a really strong stout, but I’m not sure what it was called(sorry, haven’t been keeping up with Untappd). There wasn’t a beer at the table that I didn’t enjoy tasting. Plus, it’s pretty affordable, unlike the expensive pizza. I came for the pizza, but I ended up staying for the beer. I guess if I come here next time the lunch special option would be the way to go. I’d wanted to try this place for a while now. But i’ll pass on ever eating here again. Poor service, horrible doughy pizza, the IPA I had was decent, but it’s Southern CA, I can get good IPA’s anywhere. Waited almost an hour for a small personal pizza and it was horrible. I have given Pizza Port a fair chance now and visited several of their locations and not loved any of them so far. Service was great, they get through the lines quickly with a smile, I did enjoy that. The lines are insane, the place feels like Chuckee Cheese, noisy and full of kids. Not for a date or quiet evening and not if you are in a rush, best is to go right when they open, but even so it is packed. We went with a large pizza and cheese sticks, both were pricey for the size and quality that you get and just not great quality at all. Not the best cheese or meats used, nothing to justify the price or waiting that long again. Don’t understand the hype, I won’t bother to be back.

Awesome beers, as always, for every Pizza Port. Very friendly service with the exception of the girl with the reddish, wavy hair and earrings HATING life(and assumedly me) for asking for more marinara. Smile, please. It goes a long way. Otherwise, I know it’s the first Pizza Port ever and that’s awesome, but its terribly claustrophobic inside. And there were a decent amount of flies near the brewing equipment that hovered around our meal. The front patio is cool, but overlooks the highway and traintracks. I’m looking forward to visiting the Carlsbad location again for a difference in atmosphere. The pizza, wings, and beer buddies were off the hizzy.

Came here today with some Unilocalers during a YSBUYE. We were all hungry after doing a beach walk, and even though I was headed to the Little Italy UYE afterwards, I still wanted to partake in some food. Three of us split a «portzel,» which was a pretzel that I thought would be topped with feta cheese and sundried tomatoes, but instead just had a coating that vaguely tasted like that. That was disappointing, but we also had the garlic breadsticks which were really good — more like focaccia. My friends had beers too, and I tried the apple chai cider which was very good. More like a fall/winter drink but I liked it a lot. I didn’t try any of the pizza since we were headed to the other event, but other Unilocalers who had it said it was very good.

I only gave this place 4 stars because of the food. The pizza is amazing. I love the crust/dough. It’s so soft and they pack on the toppings. The chicken wings are also awesome. Make sure you ask them to triple bake it. Why? Because it makes the skin super crispy. Sure the double bake is okay but the extra 5 – 6 minutes in the oven makes all the difference. The garlic bread and the cheese sticks are just your average appetizers. I didn’t order a salad but a lot of customers did and they all looked good when they passed me by. In addition, there’s two lines to order from. One is the food line on the left and the other is the bar for drinks, which is on the right. Oh and it’s only beers, no hard liquor. But again, pizza and beer are the best combo! This place can get super crowded even on a normal mid-weekday. I waited at least 45 – 60 minutes just to get my pizza and that was when it wasn’t even at the busiest time. Overall, good food and fun times.

so much hubbub about this place made a trip to Solano specifically to eat here. We walked in, ordered a pizza, were told 15 minutes but took 40. After reading Unilocal reviews, knew that was the case. Very strange that there is no pizza oven. They put the pizza in and comes out on a conveyor. One at a time. Makes one pizza at a time. Coming from NJ where there is a great pizza joint no matter where you are, this was somewhat of a culture shock but we rolled with it. Texted my son to tell him hey we are at Pizza Port! And he said don’t order pizza, you won’t like it. He explained you go for the beer. Ok. Next time. Was something unexpected but will try the beer before going to dinner somewhere else next time.

What a great brewery/pizza joint with a great view. My husband and I decided to stop here and meet a few friends before heading to San Diego. The place was packed on a Thursday night. No special night, just a regular night. We ordered the pitcher of a limited edition IPA, Pliney The Elder, Hawaiian and the San Franciscan pizza. The pizzas are made to order, so it took about 15 minutes to cook. The beer and refreshing and cold, the only way to drink a beer. The pizza had a crunchy crust and the toppings worked perfectly with the subtle tomato sauce. The view is awesome. This location is right on the beach. Beer, pizza, beach and friends! Life doesn’t get any better.

I love their Pizza… Rule #1 They may tell you a personal pizza will take 10 minutes to make, but just keep in mind that translates to 45 minutes in Solana Beach time. Rule #2 If you’re here for lunch, and you have the time, I highly recommend getting a real pizza not one of their special slices. Their pepperoni slice was so greasy it soaked through a coworker’s paper plate and actually greased up the wooden table. Fortunately we brought an extra chamois to soak up all that crap. Rule # 3 Their real pizza is amazing.(ROMA) Rule #4 There’re a lot of unattended kids running around this place. If you don’t like the sound of that you shouldn’t come here.

The beer is epic! And best lunch special in Solana Beach! For about $ 7.50 you get a big slice of pizza, a hefty salad, and a craft beer. It’s almost enough to fill up two people. The pizza is excellent and well-made. And most importantly, one of the best brewers in the country whips up some epic craft beers here! Pinball machines in the back too … luv it.

First time here with one of my girlfriends! She raves about the bbq chicken pizza with pineapple and I must say it was pretty damn good. I think the bbq sauce and the dough were the most enjoyable. Bbq sauce was sweet with a slight tang and the dough was nice and soft. The cashier was also pretty cool because we talked about Star Wars Loved the ambiance at the port: chill, relaxed. They have a nice selection of beer too. I would have had one but my Catholic ass gave up beer for 40 days hahah. My friend loves the California Honey Beer but they run out of it all the time because it must be that good! Anyways, love to come back sometime after Lent hahaha ;)

I came to Pizza Port to meet up with a group of close friends. We were lucky to find a table that fit our number of people perfectly but it was otherwise very crowded! You can order pitchers of beer in a separate line from the food which is great since the line goes more quickly. We ordered a couple of pizzas and some beer buddies. Everything was very good and we didn’t feel rushed. As the night went on, some groups did get pretty loud but nothing outrageous. 4 stars.

The only thing wrong with this place is that it’s TOO awesome. So awesome that you need one person to order pizza and beer, and the other to go snipe a good spot to sit down. But hey, what else can you expect when they brew damn good beer and and create some damn good pizza. Kept it pretty civil with the cheeseburger pizza and washed it down with some chronic ale. A little light with the heavy. But they have about 10 taps for whatever blows your hair back. If you’re ever in the neighborhood, definitely check these guys out. The crowd seems to filter out pretty quick. So even if it looks busy, you won’t be standing for too long.

This is one of my favorite local spots of San Diego. Came here today for dinner as the husband and me both did not feel like cooking. Its not a fine dining place, so do not expect much about the service or anything, You carry your own beer and take your own pizza to your seat(if you are lucky to find one.:P). This place is always packed and that is why we avoid it on weekends. Orders are always messed and you end up waiting 40 minutes for your pizza. But week nights are cool. Just the right number of people to have a nice cool vibe, not too loud and you get piping hot and fresh pizzas from the oven. The pizzas are great, I especially loved the San Clemente today. The beers are local, crisp and righty priced. I love this place and will keep on going back !

Not sure why anyone over the age of 5 enjoys Pizza Port. The pizza has a monotonous flavor and none of their sides are that good. Worst of all, got little little kids running, screaming, crying, pooping all over the place. It’s like a small Chucky Cheese for parents that want to get hammered while watching their kids.

Hands down the best pizza in San Diego. If you’re an out-of-towner or just moved to San Diego, make it a point to go to any of the Pizza Port locations. It’s what the coastal communities of San Diego has to offer in its finest sense. It has a great beer selection, a few arcade games to play, appetizers, and pizza. We’ve had a lot of different sides, but I think just waiting for that pizza to come out is the best choice for me. I hate when I’m too full from the appetizers to eat my second(or dare I say, third) slice of pizza. There’s a lot of inside seating and some outside seating. It’s usually pretty crowded but I’ve never had a problem finding a seat. People usually gobble up their pizzas pretty quickly so people tend to be in and out. The wait time for the pizza is what takes a bit longer, but it’s so worth it. Park on the street. It’s located in a line of businesses, so during peak hours, just park wherever /whenever you find parking on the street. Go, now.

They have 5 locations, which might officially make them a chain, but it doesn’t feel like a chain restaurant. The food is consistently stellar and the beer selection fits the craft brew scene. It can get really noisy and crowded especially if there is a game. You order beer and food at separate spots. You also grab your own plasticware, plates and to go boxes. The small pizza is enough to split if you aren’t really hungry. It’s a great place for families since the kids can play video games and be noisy.

Great hang out for great beer and food! They brew their own beer and serve on tap and also have a selection other brews on tap. We had two different IPA selections and had the milk stout. So many good choices for pizza, it was hard to decide. We ended up with San Clemente and a newer selection that I can’t remember the name. I came here at 11am on a Saturday for a friend’s birthday with a group of 7 people. The bartender was really cool. But there were a lot of kids. I wasn’t expecting that. I was hoping for more of a bar scene, not a restaurant experience. This location seems to invite a lot of kids. The Pizza Port in San Clemente didn’t seem to have as many kids. Anyway, that may br a good thing for others. Simcoe IPA was decent for an IPA. California Honey was GREAT, but it’s a just an easy beer for those who are beginers. Pizza was good. Lots of different options.

Honestly, I have no idea what’s the hype about this place. I came here on a Thursday night with a friend to kill some time before she boards her train. First of all, I wanted to only order a slice of pizza but they don’t have that option dinner time so I had to get a full small sized pizza. That, I can bear with. The small pizza isn’t super big or anything but I just didn’t like the idea I have to spend more money to get more food that I don’t really want. After I got my order in, we found a table to sit down. We were literally shouting to each other because it was way to loud. We finally decided to move to the corner and far away from the bar to be able to have an actual conversation without spitting in each other’s faces. The most upsetting part about my dining experience here is the wait for my pizza. I waited around 40 min for my pizza to come out. When I asked about it at around the 25 min mark, the cashier’s attitude was extremely rude. She asked for the name of the order and right after I told her my name, she just said«it’s not ready» with a bitch face. Wow, thanks for being polite about it. After 10 minutes this happened I decided to ask another worker there and thank god he was polite and said he’ll check for me. So ultimately I waited 40 minutes for my small pizza to come out, which was pretty ridiculous. The pizza itself was not bad, but I’m definitely not inclined to come back anymore.

If I could post as zero stars I would. I visited this location 20 minutes ago. I ordered a salad because I was just going to hang and watch the afternoon football games. I got my salad in a timely fashion but I had leave for something that had come up. I asked the line cook to box my salad to go when my name was called. She did not even acknowledge my request, only turned her back, sulked with a deep breath, and threw the salad in a togo container. It was as if I had asked her to do the hardest thing she’d ever done. I then started to eat my salad in the car when I discovered dirt all over multiple pieces of the lettuce! Are you kidding me?! Dirt on the lettuce?! Kitchen not washing vegetables before service?! This is good prep 101. Completely unacceptable. I cannot believe Pizza Port would allow theirselves to be represented this way. The practice of washing produce keeps people safe, this is a major violation according to health code and a shock that a brand that represents itself throughout San Diego would allow this practice in their kitchen. Have you heard about the current Chipotle issues!!! This is exactly how their issues came about. How embarrassing that any good establishment would not take extra care after the repercussions that Chipotle has seen. Terrible management of food product by Pizza Port. I am embarrassed they fail to wash their produce every single time. Refer to the picture I’ve posted to see the various pieces of lettuce with dirt on them. Yukkkk!

We’ve dined at Pizza Port a couple times and because it’s always crazy busy inside, the last couple times we’ve ordered a pizza to-go. Last night we had a large pizza, medium pizza and chicken wings for a family of five and we had plenty of leftovers. The Pizza Roma was delicious and came fully-loaded with Canadian style bacon, pepperoni, sausage, salami, onions, olives, bell peppers and mushrooms. The Pizza Monterey was a paired down version of the Roma with pepperoni, mushrooms, onions, and artichoke hearts. The quality of the pizza toppings and the fresh Roma tomato flavor of the sauce on the pizza definitely sets Pizza Port apart from the other pizza joints. The prices are higher, but it’s true what they say: «You get what you pay for.» The beers on tap are quite popular, but many of them were too bitter or hoppy for our crowd. We’ll keep coming back for the pizza though!

I’ve visited twice, but only on my most recent visit did I get to try the pizza! But let’s start with their beers. So many on tap it’s silly. Every beer they make and then all the ones they make only at the Solana Beach too. The beer list really is staggering, and besides the obvious like, Swamis, Ponto and Jetty, the guest beers they have are no slouch either! Pliny the Younger?! Who has that on tap!!! Insanity. Ballast Points Sea Monster… oh man, so many great beers. The pizza came out quick and was spot on. Perfect blend of crust, cheese, and toppings. The cheese sticks are good, though nothing mind blowing, the garlic buddies are good too. I would eat and drink here all the time if I lived here.

The one good thing about my mom’s train being delayed last night? FINALLY getting to try Pizza Port! The local chain has been on my bucket list for quite some time, and I’m glad that I got to cross it off. My order was for a small(10-inch) Pizza Roma — this pie is the closest thing to a supreme pizza, made with Canadian-style bacon, pepperoni, sausage, salami, onions, olives, bell peppers & mushrooms on a thick crust. At six slices, I could only put away 3, and the rest became today’s lunch. I chose to celebrate today’s visit with a pint of California Honey Ale — it’s brewed with locally sourced honey, leading to a eye-pleasing color and a palate-pleasing smooth finish. And at 5.6% ABV, it gave me a decent buzz for a couple of hours. The Solana Beach location is in a local monument, and the seats are mostly bench-style. Love the surfer vibe that permeates through the place! Lots to try here in terms of food and potables(the Beer Buddies — bite-sized pizza crusts brushed with garlic or Cajun spice seasoning — and the Saisan Persuasion brew caught my attention), so looks like possible future trips here or the other Pizza Port locations may be in order!

I’ve been going here for 20 years, so yes, «I’m a fan!». This is my favorite pizza for San Diego and the quality of their food hasn’t changed over the 20 years I’ve been going, You can order over the phone or even online. Usually takes no more than 15 minutes if they aren’t busy, but as the day goes on especially on the weekends, they get pretty busy pretty early. They are located right off a major roadway and the signs are quite prominent so it’s easy to find. There is generally plenty of off street free parking. If you are eating in, they have the big wooden benches and I think a couple of tables with chairs. They also make their own beer and it’s pretty good although I don’t have a favorite. Outside on the sidewalk there is a counter you can sit at, enjoy your pizza and drink beer. It’s fun people watching out there and those seats fill up quickly. Aside from the amazing pizza, they have salads and munchies. But if you aren’t coming here for the pizza or beer, I’m not sure why you are coming here :) Today we had the pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms and olives. There just enough cheese but there isn’t grease running all over. Just the right amount of sauce but have to be honest and say their sauce is a little bland. There is some spice to it, but just tastes like something is missing. However, the crust, ingredients and cheese are all very fresh. The Amtrak station is across the street so if you are headed out, you should pick up a pizza for your trip. If you’re coming in, just walk across the street and treat yourself. Again, my favorite pizza in all of San Diego. You can’t go wrong here.

I brought my kids to Pizza Port for an easy school night dinner. They had a great time eating a couple slices and playing old school pinball. It is everything I love about a great pizza parlor. They have no fuss bench seating at long tables perfect for large groups, well made pizza and a laid back crowd. We ate cheese pizza and pepperoni so it wasn’t particularly novel from a food perspective but the pies were well made with a nice crust. I can imagine Pizza Port is hard to beat after a day at the beach.
