Uptown New York Style

Recently got talked into trying a new salon and a new style… well thanks to Cece at Uptown now my hair looks amazing!
I called her and said «help me» someone else had made a mess of my hair. Cece said come in and let me help.
And hour later I had a cute stylish bob that I had wanted .
I cant say enough how much I love Uptown. Beyond nice, amazing service and my hair looks amazing!
You know you got an amazing cut when you just cant stop playing with your new hair and just love it!

I love CeCe and Uptown! She has been my hairstylist for almost 7 years! She is so unbelievably talented and able to really follow through with the vision of the exact style I’m looking for every time! I love how she takes such good care of my hair. When it comes to my hair — I am so stinkin picky ;) And She is so detailed oriented and she won’t let anyone leave until they are 110% happy and satisfied with their hair. My hair’s health has improved greatly since I’ve been seeing her :) They make their own products– which are some of the best! It was so hard to find a stylist that I could trust with my hair type and after many heart/​hair breaking experiences with other stylists — I am sooo blessed to have strolled into her shop 7 years ago! Thank you Cece for all that you do! Me and my fabulous hair are forever grateful for you! You’re the best!!!

I found Uptown Hair Salon on Unilocal when I decided to get married in Solana Beach. My experience was wonderful. Latisha and her daughter took great care of me. They made sure my hair and make up were on point. I am thankful for Unilocal helping me find this salon and externally thankful to Uptown Hair Salon for making sure I looked great on my wedding day. I highly recommend them.

I love coming to uptown to get my hair done. I would not trust anyone else, but CeCe to do my hair. I have been to another salon by my house in chula vista, but they were unable to do my texture of hair right. I left with frizzy hair and an empty wallet. When I come here I leave with silk smooth and shiny hair. I love the atmosphere and the work that CeCe does. I am now an uptown customer forever! :)

Cece hooks it up. She does a wonderful job at fulfilling exactly the hairstyle you want. I’ve only been to her twice, but I’m going to continue to go to her cause her work is not only phenomenal, but it lasts such a long time. You seriously have to watch how long you keep your sew-​in on, cause it’ll still look fresh 2 months after you’ve gotten it done ! I definitely recommend Cece Johnson all the way.

If you are looking for a fresh new look then you have found your salon. Cece Johnson is brilliant, creative and has gifted hands. I’ve been faithfully coming to Cece for over two years, and every time she exceeds my expectations. Having mixed-​frizzy-​curly hair, I’ve struggled to find someone that knows exactly what to do. But Cece always knows what to do. She has turned my natural hair frizz-​free with an agave treatment, taught me how to work with my curly hair and most recently changed my entire look with a natural looking weave. And my hair is healthier than its every been. I highly recommend you visit Cece Johnson.

The stylists at uptown genuinely care about making sure their clients have healthy hair. It is apparent that the people in the community appreciate them and what they do for hair. While I was getting my hair done people were stopping by for conversations and they were all very welcome.
My only qualm is their phone service. To make an appointment I had to call multiple times and leave multiple voicemails. It took almost two weeks to speak with someone. Just recently I tried to make another appointment and no one called me back after I left a voicemail. I no longer live in the area and I was willing to drive to them to get my hair done. Instead, I sought out someone more local.
I was very happy with my hair and I would recommend them to a friend. I just wish they were more responsive to their phone messages.

Cece is beyond amazing! She is a true hair expert and knows everything there is to know about hair care, treatment plans and really takes the time to help me understand the steps. I take both my daughters to her, each have different texture and needs and she takes her time to ensure everything is absolutely perfect!
She doesn’t rush you and always makes sure that you are completely happy when you leave. She is extremely pleasant and I thoroughly enjoy the time spent in the salon.
I have looked high and low for years for someone that can treat and care for my girls’ hair and I can honestly say that I have found the best in the business!
I would drive hours to Cece, she is well worth it!

CeCe and Louticia are fabulous! I have been getting my weaves from them for years. They keep me looking beautiful and the compliments are ongoing. I commute from Orange County to go to there shop in Solana Beach because they are the best! They are incredibly professional and will make sure that you are happy with your new look!

Uptown New York Style is probably the best hair salon in San Diego for women of color but as well they specialize in any type of hair. Cece and her mother have been close friends of my family for over 15 years and we have never found anyone that does hair like them. I personally have a «protective weave» and I have gotten so many reviews from people just walking down the street that tell me my hair looks natural and beautiful. If you need a new hair salon or are looking for something new, I highly recommend Uptown New York Style. Like I said, they are the best at what they do in the whole County of San Diego.

Loved IT! I had been going up to Beverly Hills to have my wefts readjusted because I couldn’t find someone local. Then I googled «weft» extensions and found CeCe at Uptown. Two-​chair salon, mother/​daughter team, got an amazing weave of my original wefts, 7 minutes from my home and I couldn’t be happier. And they are a lively pair with non-​stop chatter. I would have to say I got a Beverly Hills adjustment without all the trappings!

There is no better salon in a 200 mile radius, if not the planet. Cece is conscientious, attentive & completely up to speed on all of the latest styles & care techniques. What’s even better– while she’s an expert on healthy, beautiful hair, that’s not her central focus. She so kind & personable, she treats every client like they’re her best girlfriend who must look their absolute best.
I wouldn’t trust my hair w/​anyone else in the world. That’s how good she & her wonderful mom Louticia are. These ladies are more than beauticians. They’re artists.

Conversation was great. I liked my hair, but did not love it. Maybe it was because I really didn’t know what I wanted. Either way I had a great experience and I will go back. I will try a full install next time!

AMAZING!!! — I heard about Cece from one of my massage clients. Her hair was so gorgeous I had to ask where she had it done and when I got the number to Uptown, I called straight away. — Cece had me come in and explained all my options. She is a sweetheart and SO good at what she does. I decided on a full system. Loutisha did an amazing job at creating just what I asked for. There are only two people that i want doing my weaves and that’s Ce Ce and her mother. I’ve known them for a long time and they always do a great job. My mother has been a customer since the early 90’s and her hair has always looked fantastic so I knew where to go.

I have been going to Uptown New York Style for the last 18 years. I started with tracks and have been wearing a full system for the past 10 years. To say I LOVE it would be an understatement. I receive so many comments on, «my beautiful hair». On the rare occasion that I admit to wearing a system, I enjoy the surprised expressions I receive. Lou’s work is top quality, and you can not meet a nicer, more highly trained professional stylist than Cece. I would highly recommend this salon. You will leave looking and feeling like a beauty queen!!,

Only 1 review. I can’t believe it. I drive from the salon capital of the world (Los Angeles) to Solana Beach because I always leave here happy. First of all, this is not your typical salon. You get individualized care. The stylist have experience working with all types of hair and hair issues. No matter what you have going on, you always leave feeling like a million bucks.
Ms. Lou has over 30 years as a celebrity stylist (check the resume… okaaay!) and brings her art to the salon. She can create custom hair weaves/​pieces. She hand ties wefts by hand so that you get the customized natural look. Need I say more? The salon also promotes healthy hair and they have many products that promote hair growth. You can’t go wrong here. I love this place.

I have been going to Uptown for over 2 years and I love it! Very clean and nice inside! CeCe is great at what she does and she can do it very well! I love that when my appointment time is all about me! She works on my hair until I’m done! No waiting around for hours to get in the chair. I love that their isn’t alot of traffic in the salon. CeCe has alot of knowledge on hair care and for an African American woman that is very good feeling. It is so worth the money and your time! You will feel beautiful inside and out leaving that Salon!
