So– with me recently moving to south jersey, its been an interesting journey trying to find my local spots for things. One night I was craving fried shrimp with fried rice and all the Chinese stores by me thought I was crazy when I called that in. Needless to say, no one had that, NOONE! I stumbled on this little whole in the wall Chinese store cause they sent us their menu. When I saw they had a fried food section, it as like reading the holy grail. It really gave me a peace of mind to know that this spot has what I need. Luckily, their food is not bad! Its actually pretty decent Chinese food. Its checks all of the local Chinese Food requirements –Cheap –Delicious –Greasy –Questionable meat quality –Gives fortune cookies –Teenage kid working the counter Yup! I found my local Chinese store folks!

Lived in this area my whole life and New China has always been the go to for Best chinese take out in the area. Very convenient to be able to order online and great choices of food. Workers are nice and always polite.

Just mediocre food at best. Owners have become complacent and don’t care about customers anymore. Online ordering is a joke as they lose orders, miss deliveries, food arrives cold. I have tried to talk to owners about these problems and they just DON“T CARE. I have been a customer for years and have also steadily watched it decline over the past few years. 4 strikes and you are really OUT

Not sure what happened here but things have gone downhill considerably. I’ve given it a number of 2nd and 3rd chances but I won’t be back now. Fat filled items now instead of chunks of meat. Very sad to see.

Moved to a new area. What does that mean? It surely means finding new favorite takeout places. On a lonely Saturday night in, I decided to try my first area chinese takeout. I chose China King because it was fairly close and I didn’t mind driving. It was also super convenient in that you can order online! Ordering online was simple and easy. I always like to test a new chinese restaurant by order the standards to see if they can be done right. Odds are if they aren’t, it’s not worth ordering from again. I got an order of szechuan pan fried wontons, spring rolls, white meat general tso’s chicken and shrimp lo mein. I picked up the order and was ready when I walked in, so +1. Here is how each dished fared: Szechuan pan friend wontons — Something was a little off with this as I wasn’t a huge fan of the sauce it was in. The wontons were also deep fried it seemed… or spent a long time in the wok. Not something I would order again. Huge portion for what it’s worth. Spring Rolls — An order comes with two, but they are pretty darn tiny. This should have been expected since they were extremely cheap. Otherwise, they tasted okay. Nothing earth shattering. I prefer spring rolls over eggs rolls usually. White Meat General Tso’s Chicken — Now this came under as a chef specialty, so it has to be good right? Well, it certainly was. Though I would have preferred more spice, the sauce was definitely on point. The chicken was crispy and was made with all white meat, which was surely refreshing in americanized chinese food. It’s accompanied with broccoli. HUGE portion. Easily made two meals out of this. Shrimp lo mein — The sauce was great and the noodles were cooked to perfection. There was an abundance of shrimp. I would definitely order this again. I also got a heaping portion of steamed white rice which came with the chicken. The guy also threw in 3 cans of soda on the house. This was most appreciative. The staff was friendly and I wouldn’t hesitate to make this my go-to chinese takeout venue.
