Clean restrooms and a fair selection of eateries. Prices are marked up on the turnpike though.

Worst fast food I have ever had in my life. Cold ass burger patty on bread with nothing else and some basic nasty mac and cheese, 12 $ really, really? Remind me to never in my life have I have ever had crappier customerbservice or food quality. Actually 1 star is to much but Unilocal won’t let u give 0 stars

It’s an okay place to rest. At least they have tables outside where you can relax a bit.
But let’s be honest, the place is ugly. I stopped because I needed gas, but nothing is inviting. No trees. Trucks are parked but running, so as you walk about you’re in first place to breathe fumes.
I’m not asking for a park, though it would be nice, but a place to make our rest experience better.

Pretty similar to the other service stations on this road. You hate them, but gotta go to them if you are trying to make good time. This place was extremely crowded. I seriously can’t believe how many people were here. They even had little outdoor vendors selling purses and sunglasses and etc from carts because the crowd was so good.
We left because we wanted to stop quickly and get food and move on but we couldn’t do that here because nothing was moving quickly.

Pittsburgh, PA
Simple nice stop on your way of the PA turnpike. This service station is coming back west direction Pittsburgh and the evil twin of the South Somerset Service version, meaning crappier restaurants [who still knows of Roy Rogers]. However, quick and friendly service and clean facility. However, beware of crazy parking lot driving, especially on Sunday coming back from a weekend trip.

Newtown, PA
All the newly remodeled Service Plazas along the Pa Turnpike are a vast improvement over their predecessors. North Somerset in no different. High clearstory ceilings, exposed beams, clean and bright, they make the obligatory stop along the way of a long drive must more pleasant.
All have several vendors — Starbucks, Roy’s, Auntie Annie’s, La Famiglia, etc., so choice is there.
The gas prices are reasonable compared to what can be found of the pike. No need to hesitate to fill up if necessary.
This seems to be the design of choice on most major roadways, at least in the Northeast and MidAtlantic regions. It gets no complaints from here.

San Antonio, TX
You get what you pay for… A little pricier than city stops but a heck of a lot nicer. Great and various food selections… Nice place to relax, as mentioned in other reviews clean restrooms, well lit, plenty of parking.
If you are a frequent traveler and looking to cross pa into the east coast and or through ohio i recommend coming down the «toll» turnpike.
Get yourself an ez pass well worth it. And these stops make your travels a much better.

Bathrooms were clean. There’s also a family restroom with a tiny potty for kids. The caramel popcorn I bought was stale, but that’s on me.

Crystal Beach, Canada
I’ve found myself inadvertently stopping at this particular rest stop on just about every trip that I’ve taken the freeway for from Baltimore to Buffalo.
Bathroom is large and well kept. There is always a food vendor open in addition to the convenience store. The parking lot is large and well lit. I like the map and weather information area.
As rest stops go, this one is pretty darn good.

Stopped here on my way from Harrisburg to Pittsburgh. The restroom was clean and i love that there was a Starbucks inside. A nice place to make a quick rest stop.

Clean Rest stop, I think the place is fairly new and they have nice and clean bathrooms. The food costs a bit much though, may be worth it to get off the highway somewhere else if you want a meal.

This is the one on the westbound side of the Turnpike: Best ever. Clean. Great layout. Starbucks. Stop here. Done and «dunner».
South Somerset is great too.

Washington, DC
Mostly clean. Bathrooms had a lot of stalls out of order but as rest stops go it was clean, stocked with paper towels, and the eateries were decent. Lots of parking. Some soap dispensers didn’t work but it wasn’t hard to find a working one in the restrooms. Mostly clean tables to eat at.
