I am a Kaiser member, but my plan does not cover hearing aids. After having a hearing evaluation done by an audiologist at Kaiser alerting me to the need for a hearing aid I went to Sonoma Valley Hearing Center because it is 5 minutes from my home. I found a very professional and friendly front office person(Tammy) and a very knowledgeable, professional, patient and helpful audiologist in Penny Barron. Penny explained the type of hearing loss I had, suggested a particular hearing aid and explained why she had suggested that particular instrument and she then fit me during my first visit. I had had no idea of the range and depth of hearing loss I have until that visit. I now enjoy the expanded range of hearing and the masking of the tinnitus I have with my Oticon Nera Pro hearing aid. Even though this clinic was a bit pricier than buying the same hearing aid at Kaiser, I went with this center because of the proximity and the staff, PLUS, for the life of the hearing aid you can go by the clinic for any needed«tweaks» to the hearing aid, for cleaning of the hearing aid and for free batteries for the life of the instrument(very often 5 – 7 years). I most highly recommend these folks!
