My friend and I popped into the Sunflower Café for breakfast while in Sonoma for two nights. I had the California which included avocado spread, goat cheese, eggs, ham and mixed greens on multigrain toast. Delicious! We liked the café so much we went back the next day. Fun and relaxing back patio garden filled with shaded trees, relaxing music and shade umbrellas. A perfect place to enjoy a relaxing breakfast or brunch.

Great backyard patio, delicious California breakfast sandwich, brown sugar scone was pretty good, and service was quick. A little pricey but seems on par for the area. Would definitely go back again!

We brought our dog up to Sonoma for the weekend and wanted a dog friendly brunch place. Sunflower Caffe in downtown Sonoma has shaded outdoor seating in front of the restaurant perfect for a little pooch. We had: –seared ahi tun salad-very good flavor although small portion given the price –ribs special with grits and coleslaw-good flavor, good size I like that they partner with local Sonoma partners to get their produce and their meat. The reason we didn’t give this place a higher rater is that they don’t allow dogs in the lovely patio in the back. There is a back entrance where dogs can enter and it would have been nice to enjoy the pretty back patio. Another thing that could be improved is that there is only a single stall bathroom and the line was quite long just to use the restroom.

Sunflower was OK. I can never eat a large breakfast so I typically order sides and ordered the«brekki potatoes» and slices of heirloom tomatoes. You can’t really mess up sliced tomatoes, so those were fine. The potatoes were OK too. My bf got an egg/cheese sandwich and he felt like it was missing something. If you’re OK with average food but love cutesy places, you should definitely stop by Sunflower for their amazing patio out back. The patio was so cute and tranquil that it made the experience more enjoyable.

Avocado brioche sandwich was delicious! Outside back patio area is amazing! Longs can get very long so time your visit accordingly. Lots of vegetarian and meat based brunch options. Laid back casual atmosphere and service was friendly, while limited. FYI– You order at the entrance front counter, get a number and they bring the food out to you.

Absolutely a fantastic visit. My personal favorite was the Avocado goat cheese sandwich, was absolutely tasty with creamy goat cheese and their salad wasn’t bad at all. Would absolutely come back here again and recommend this to others!

It is hard to impress with breakfast, but alas, Sunflower delivered! I really love that you order at the counter and grab a number to plop on your table – easy to do with groups, which is just what we were. Being on vacation, we wanted to start the day off right. The bf and I did just that with two gigantic mimosas. Although no one else in our group followed suit, no regrets, regrets are for bitches. Though the mimosas were a no-brainer, I was absolutely distraught trying to decide between the fritatta of the day and the ham and cheddar omelette. I went with the latter and it was incredible! Yes, I know I’m saying this about an omelette but it had white cheddar and harissa. I can say it’s the best omelette I’ve ever had, and although the sample size is small, it may remain this way because this omelette has ruined all future omelettes for yours truly. Everything on the plate was fantastic, including the salad and the potatoes. Bonus points for the adorable back patio and the fountain, because that was relaxing as hell.

My sister and I spent a blissful 24 hours in one of my favorite close-by escapes — Sonoma, California. It takes me half the time to drive to Sonoma that it does to get to downtown San Francisco. We arrived in Sonoma mid-afternoon on a Monday. Our first-of-many surprises at Sunrise Café was that they were not only open but the menu had four words that stimulated my inner Homer Simpson: breakfast served all day. Often the delightful surprise fades to black when the cold bacon and gut-bomb pancakes arrive. Not so at Sunrise Café. The bacon waffle tasted like somebody had beaten the egg whites just for me. My sister ordered the tuna salad. I thought she was getting a tuna salad sandwich. What arrived was five thin slices of seared tuna on top of a bed o gorgeous greens. This was another pleasant surprise. We came back the next morning for breakfast when I had the California egg sandwich with bacon and avocado. This was so delicious that I dreamed about ii that night. Another surprise for a place serving food of this caliber was that you order and pay at the counter. Seating options are in a backyard garden, inside at a table, inside at a bar table, or in front on the sidewalk. If you have a dog, you’ll be on the sidewalk. Service was mostly very friendly but there were a couple of staff who acted like they had mistakenly been channeled into serving people food.

Not all«cafes» are created equal but Sunflower Caffe delivers on nice staff, wonderful ambiance and delicious food. Their ham and egg breakfast sandwich sounds pedestrian but tastes like an American version of a Croque Madame and is a must-order. The Peruvian omelette with beans and tortilla is savory and well seasoned to start the day. And this is minor but their fruit salad is not crammed with unripe melon chunks, it’s a great combination of sweet and ripe blueberries, strawberries and bananas. The staff is friendly and give you space as you dine, grab a table in their shaded courtyard and have an enjoyable breakfast and chat with a friend or two.

Sunflower Caffe affords any tourists an iconic California lunch joint, with salads and sandwiches galore, aptly prepared with thoughtful ingredients. On the other end, there is nothing here that will blow your socks off… but California is all about consistency, freshness, and affordability(for the most part). The chicken salad salad highlights handpicked poultry provides a good rustic approach to the American classic. More unique is the duck sandwich, with onion jam and garlic-lemon aioli providing some sweet notes and creamy texture. The interior is simple, with a couple of seating areas… not surprisingly, the outdoor patio is a great option for seasons of good weather. For anyone looking for a classy«moms who brunch» kind of place in the square of Sonoma, Sunflower offers fantastic options.

Great spot on Sonoma square to grab a fresh delicious bite. Order at the counter and have your food delivered to a table on their beautiful lush and shady back patio. On this lunch visit I had a heavenly grilled cheese sandwich with avocado — their grilled cheese has a dry jack butter spread, and is a blend of white cheddar, jack, and crescenza on sourdough. Yep, it’s as good as it sounds. Plenty of organic and vegetarian options, plus wine and beer. Highly recommended if you’re in Sonoma.

I love this café for its back patio. I went when jasmine was blooming, and it was gorgeous. I had chicken salad salad, sausage and kale salad, and waffle. Salads are light and healthy lunch especially if you are drinking and eating cheese afterwards. What I liked best here is their waffle. It’s crunchy and fluffy. Fruits that came with was refreshing. They use local organic ingredients and they list its source. You know you’ll eat well here.

Sunflower Caffe has a pricey menu. no doubt cuz of location in the main square in sonoma. just grabbed a joe or so i thought. brew: drip coffee, listed as 3. cashier asked for 6, so i pd 6. –noticed small coffee poured into a larger cup –was presented with 2 cups of coffee. me: «i ordered one coffee» cashier: «didn’t u say 2?» me: «i said ‘drip coffee to go, black» cashier: «didn’t the price seem high to u?» me: «i’ve seen nitro cold coffee going for 4.5+» cashier:(to associate) «is nitro coffee that expensive?» or something like that associate: «more labor involved». drips: –got refunded $ 3 –coffee fab, didn’t ask what beans they were, definitedly med to dark roast… probably organic too. –service was very good dispite the mishap. 3.5 stars

It’s challenging to find good vegan lunch spots in Sonoma as many associate wine with cheese and meat. So, finding a place where we could grab a quick lunch before checking in was hard, but Sunflower Caffe seemed like a good bet as there was a sandwich with the word«vegan» right on the menu. Downtown Sonoma is a quaint little town with a variety of shops and restaurants, but for some reason everyone wanted to eat at Sunflower Caffe. There was a line out the door when we arrived and we were told there’d be a 30-minute wait after the long wait in line to order. Well, we were already here, so why not?! We ordered some glasses of wine, then found a seat outside in the beautiful courtyard. Luckily, they have a ton of seating outside and it was a gorgeous day. We took a seat at one of the metal tables and our wine was brought out fairly quickly. We toasted to the start of a fine adventure while enjoying the fountain next to us. After a while, they brought our meals out. As my friend had bought the meal, I didn’t want to say anything negative, but after a while, I just couldn’t help it! I ordered the Vegan Pita that had roasted cauliflower, roasted red pepper hummus, summer squash, pickled onion, and cauliflower-almond sauce. That all sounded good and with the wait being as long as it was, I was expecting perfection. I was very disappointed. The sandwich had no taste at all. In fact, it couldn’t have been any more bland. My friend expressed disappointment with her sandwich as well. Alas, what could we do. The worst part was that the meal was overly expensive with my sandwich being $ 12 and each glass of wine being like $ 15. There wasn’t even service other than them bringing the food out to you. So, why the heck do people wait for this food? I’ll never know. But, I’ll never be back again.

Very expensive! $ 4 for a side of toast? Prices here are out of control If you must dine at the square this is not a bad place Outdoor seating has heatlamps when cold Update: the serving of toast was large. I upped it one star. Don’t leave a tip, their expensive prices cover enough.

This place is a small café in the middle of wine country. It is always busy and crowed, but it is worth the wait. Like almost every place in napa valley the food is exquisite and atmosphere is very relaxing. The food was great. It was very fresh and organic. I don’t remember there being a lot of boxed and processed foods. I got a bowl of tomoto soup and some kind of goat cheese sandwich. The bread was awesome and I believe they make it there. Everything had a lot of fresh grain and nuts on it. The staff was super friendly and were eager to serve you. The seating is limited but they had a really nice patio out back to lounge around in. I believe it was dog friendly too. The parking sucks, but everything in that area doesn’t having parking so be prepared to park a few blocks away.

Rise and shine and drink some wine! For breakfast and brunch they have an extensive list of omelets and eggs, waffle bar and bowls filled with oats and fresh fruit. I ordered the California egg sandwich, and it was the perfect blend of flavors: folded egg, bacon, goat cheese and wild arugula fit neatly between multigrain bread. A small side salad rounds out this farm fresh meal. I paired my meal with their fresh brewed herbal tea. This is the perfect place to start your day with a content belly and feeling satisfied.

Not only is the branding for this place featuring my favorite flower, but it’s great for groups of all sizes and has both indoor and outdoor seating. This place has a casual vineyard-esque, California-chic feel, and I could see the outdoor section in the back being a great venue for an event. I came here with a party of six plus a baby and we were able to snag one of the large outside booths. You order your food at the register and find a table with your number and the staff will bring you your food. They also have water readily available, but you do have to get up for your own refills. Everyone was super impressed with their food, particularly for the affordable prices. My friend and I both ordered the vegan pita with roasted cauliflower, red pepper hummus, summer squash, cucumber, pickled onion, and cauliflower-almond sauce stuffed in an organic pita that came with a small salad of greens on the side.(I have mixed feelings about both squash and onion and found it to be delicious! Perfect for those who are vegan or who want a healthier option.) The rest of our order included: the pork belly, ham & jam with tomato soup, roasted turkey, and avocado goat cheese sandwiches and for drinks the very berry and sonoma sunrise smoothies and a bottle of rosé. My only suggestion would be to offer more vegan menu items!
