Renting bikes from this business was a great way to visit a few winery tasting rooms and work in a picnic, and was a highlight of our visit to the area. The folks who run the business are friendly and efficient, the equipment was great, and it is a wonderful way to experience the outdoors.

We went to Wine Country Cyclery and rented bikes for a group of 4 with 2 others in our group who brought their own bikes. They give you a map /recommendations & there’s a great bike loop /back roads right around Sonoma so it was perfect for convenience and really nice wineries and picnic spots. The rentals are $ 30/day and you get 2-for-1 tasting deals at 7ish wineries through the bike place so the bikes really pay for themselves after 3 tastings. I’ve been to Sonoma/wine country before as I live in SF and thought this was a perfect plan for visiting family and friends. Would go back to these guys in a heartbeat, rather than bringing my own bike up from the city.

The folks here are extremely accommodating, especially given the fact that they put up with aggressive tourists all day. Jeff was quick to answer all of our questions, give us suggestions on which bikes to try out, and overall was very understanding throughout the entire process. It also didn’t hurt that all of the staff were very good-looking and knowledgeable. Highly recommended. Edit: Jeff has gone above and beyond and has offered to be my friend. Stellar customer service.

Perfect way to spend the day in sonama. They gave me a simple map and bike that made it an easy ride. After a few wineries my biking got chaotic, but that’s on me.

I went into Wine Country Cyclery to have my wheels put back on my bianchi carbon road bike. When I was greeted by the staff I was advised they were extremely busy(fair) and that they could not help me. I then asked if I could use or rent one of their tools to do the work myself as I needed to train for the upcoming AIDS Lifecycle in 2 weeks, without even blinking the guy said«if we loaned out our tools we’d go out of business, we just can’t do that». I was perplexed, didn’t he just say they are way too busy? So I asked him, ok, I will not leave the premise and I can rent it I just would like to do this and then I can ride. He repeated the same phrase with a really flat tone, «we really can’t do that,(as he pointed to the tool i’d use), we can’t just go giving out our tools to just anyone, we’d go broke!» I was a bit heated at this moment, my family lives in the town, bought bicycles there before and regardless if he knew me or not this is not how you develop relationships or keep clients. His tone was almost argumentative to my inquiring about just using a tool(which I offered to pay for) so I can get it done and get on the road — nope! I said then ok no thank you I will go to another bike store and see if they are not so busy and have it done there. I do not recommend this place at all and recommend Sonoma Valley Cyclery on Broadway if you are in Sonoma, they helped me right when I walked in, didn’t even charge for putting on the wheels and I bought a chain, lights, and some snacks before going on my ride, a completely good experience. I am never going to Wine Country Cyclery again, and will recommend to my friends and family never to go there either.

This is the best shop in Sonoma to rent a bike! The bikes are super quality, comfortable, and well maintained. If you’re a recreational biker like me, you can rest assured that you’ll have plenty of gears to conquer those gently rolling hills of the Sonoma wine country. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and it’s a full service shop, with clothing, accessories, repairs, and of course a great selection of bikes for sale. Highly recommended by me.

I can not say enough good things about this bike shop. Importantly, I did not feel any pressure or over selling during our experience getting a bike for my Son and Daughter. There was plenty of time for questions and we got two excellent bikes within our price range. The staff were great. Jeff(the owner) was friendly, relaxed and knowledgeable. I was there for quite a while and I was able to observe him interact with many clients as well as the staff, and I was really impressed with his genuine concern for the people his business serves. I highly recommend this bike shop.

I bought a basic bike today at this shop. Jeffrey answered my questions, and adjusted a couple of bikes I test-drove. All-the-while helping other customers, and doing a fine balancing act managing the busy-ness.(The shop’s other staff member was at lunch.) The bike I got, a no frills, no-gear-shift, cruising(?) Trek, comes with 1-year of free adjustments. I left the bike for the service/repair staff to give a once-over, which was offered. Friendly staff, lots of accessories stocked, and they rent bikes, too.

This is a good bike shop, what can I say. They have bikes and parts for high end bikes, they also carry parts for«meat and potato“bikes like mine.(every day commuter) The people are helpful, and if you find something on the web you want, they may be able to order it at a discount. And their prices are competitive. It’s a good bike shop.

A couple of years ago I had a flat tire as well as broken chain while being miles from home with no money and a bad attitude. A man from this store, I think he was the owner, had my bike fixed quickly, let me pay for the repairs days later and was kind to me during a time of poor spirit. I really appreciate his help, everyone else is always very knowledgable and polite. We take all of our bikes there now and have for the last couple years.

If you’re looking for a fun and unique way to explore the Sonoma vineyards, biking is definitely the way to go. Since my family isn’t extremely interested in wine tasting, balancing a day of wine tasting with some light exercise and beautiful sightseeing /country views and fresh air was a great idea. Wine Country Cyclery made it easy for us to rent bikes and their location is right next to the roads that will take you to the wineries.

Went into this cycle store to get some Hammer Nutrition products, didn’t have the exact product I was after, however they were very helpful. We were also looking for a god place to go for a picnic and they suggested a vineyard not to far away… it was an excellent suggestion, they definitely know the places to go. I gave this place a 4⁄5 rating as they were helpful and made good choices.

I’m a local — albeit new to the area and when moving here I bought a couple of used bikes from a private party. I rolled them into the shop and was greeted by the nicest guys — and helpful to boot… They tuned up the bikes, made some minor repairs, changed the chain and demonstrated why it was due for replacement. They didn’t oversell me on stuff and when one of the bikes needed a little extra to get it in top shape, they went out of their way to stay within the quoted amount — which was less than $ 60 for changing various parts and labor… I wish I could find an auto mechanic that was this good ;-) Thanks guys — we will be back when ever needed and now I know where I’m taking visiting friends from out of town to rent bikes — Oh — and thanks for the sushi recommendation!

In less than 10 minutes we had bikes set up and ready to go. Ample parking in the back, helmets and lock included. Very chill people and no reservation needed on the weekday(but I’d check to see if you need it on the weekend, particularly in high season). $ 30 /day or $ 10 /hour until you get to 3 hours.

Had to write a Unilocal review because these folks couldn’t be nicer and made renting a bike in Sonoma fun, easy, and convenient. Does your idea of wine tasting usually involve a bicycle? Mine usually doesn’t. But some friends from college insisted that this was the way to maximize time in Sonoma and minimize expensive car rental services, etc. I was HIGHLY skeptical as I haven’t been on a bike in about a decade, minus a spin class here or there which I’m not sure counts. My friends had rented from a different bike shop in Sonoma, but I found this place across from the hotel that was no only more affordable than the place my friends had previously rented from, but more helpful as well. Bike rental was $ 30 per day, which included helmet rental and a lock — through 6pm(this is compared to the other rental place that closed earlier and did not include lock or helmet in rental fee)! The employee was friendly, helped me adjust the bike, and even recommended a great boutique, off-the-beaten-path winery to visit. All in all, a great way to spend the day in Sonoma. Cheers!

This place is the best in town for bicycles. I went in today to get a light for my bike and the staff was so helpful and genuine. I stopped by a few months ago to ask questions and get an estimate for repairs. I was impressed. The staff and atmosphere was so welcoming, compared to other bicycle places I have been. There was no aloof attitude or making one wait for service, the staff here at Wine Country Cyclery really care about customers and the quality of service they provide. Wine Country Cyclery has everything anyone would need for bicycling, that includes sales as well as renting a bike. Whenever I am in town I will go here. Service is outstanding, even for air in the tires; and prices are reasonable. No hidden fees or labor charges.

My fiancé and I were planning our engagement photo shoot in Sonoma and we were looking for a vintage-looking bike to use as a prop in our shoot. We actually live in San Jose, but wanted to rent something closer to the actual location of our shoot. We found Wine Country Cyclery on Unilocal and could not have been any more fortunate. While we were still planning our shoot, we called Wine Country Cyclery and spoke to Jeff. He was immediately able to answer our questions and had a full breadth of knowledge of their inventory. We merely described the type of bike that we were looking for and he was quickly able to reply what types/looks of bikes that had available. On the actual day of the shoot, we drove up to Sonoma and were so pleased that Jeff remembered us. He was even more hospitable and helpful in person. They definitely had a wide array of bikes. He was so extremely accommodating and knew exactly what we were looking for. I don’t imagine that we are the typical customers, as we were looking for an older bike and we weren’t actually going to ride it. Nevertheless, he helped us select the perfect one and even helped us to fit it into the back of my Rav4. I am so, so, so thankful that we chose to contact Wine Country Cyclery and would HIGHLY recommend them. It was a pleasure working with the awesome staff and we will always remember Wine Country Cyclery for playing a significant part in our engagement photo shoot.

First impressions aside, I’ve had the opportunity to visit this shop a number of times in the last few years, and although we started off on the wrong foot and I posted an unflattering review, they have always treated me very well. So my old shop lost their mechanic and I recently asked them(the old shop) to do some work, and long story short they said it couldn’t be done. So here I am back at Wine Country Cyclery dealing with Matt their head wrench and I bring up all the reasons the other shop didn’t want to do the work and he had an answer or a solution to each issue. So I let them at it. Matt went above and beyond and took a twenty year old GT Tandem that I had abused in ways I will never admit to and converted the stoker so that my 5 year old daughter could ride with me. Bravo Matt! Job well done and thanks. And Jeff thanks for keeping it real.
