I have been seeing Dr. Baker for a little over a year to treat Lyme disease and a variety of other issues and I highly recommend him. I was looking for someone who would be able to treat me with something other than antibiotics, as I had two experiences in the past where drugs had harmed my liver. I didn’t want a repeat of that, so I kept looking for a doctor who had some kind of successful protocol for Lyme that avoided antibiotics. I finally found Dr. Baker and am very grateful I did. If you want to take a holistic and integrative approach to your healing focusing on herbs and supplements that seek to rebalance the root causes of your illness and disease rather than the symptoms, then Dr. Randy Baker would be an excellent choice. But you need to have patience. Our bodies didn’t become diseased overnight, and it is likely to take a while for them to come back into balance. He does have a long waiting list — when I first came to him, it was 5 months. You can apparently get in more quickly if you see his PA Cindy Quattro first. Even she has waiting list of a month or two. But after you have seen her, then you can make an appointment with Dr. Baker.

Dr. Baker had come highly recommended, but what a big — and expensive — disappointment and waste of time. My husband came to him with a complex medical issue, but all he did was muscle testing and no real testing. He failed to diagnose any of the issues that were later found by other people who did tests. He gave my husband a ton of supplements, none of which turned out to be really relevant. Don’t bother!

Dr Baker is truly a unique clinician. He was Jerry Garcia’s personal doctor toward the end of his life(no reflection on Randy’s work, addiction is an hard thing to treat). He is in my view the best doctor in Santa Cruz county. The intersection of compassion, intelligence, curious inquiry on the«human condition» and his own generous heart is very unusual. He specializes in integrative medicine– more likely to give a nutrient or homeopathic remedy than a drug. If you are so fortunate to live in these environs and desire a broad-thinking expert on the case, I can’t see that there is an MD alternative. Plus, the clinic is charming and cosy; a renovated victorian with oragami birds strung colorfully about. a lovely spot to launch one’s healing.
