My favorite is the ceviche mixto with fried calamari on top. Best thing I have ever had!

I usually go to «Marios» on melrose or «balcones de Peru» in Hollywood but since my mom lives in this neighborhood I thought I’d try it. This place is delicious! The lomo saltado and the green tallarin are amazing! I definitely recommend this place to everyone

I arrived in shorts and t-shirt, I felt embarrassed for walking in dressed like I was. I was hungry and was ready to turn around and get home to change, instead I was encouraged to enter and sit wherever I wanted. I wasn’t rushed, they were polite and patient as all the food in their menu looks delicious(photographs help) the waitress suggested the drinks and I was impressed by her choices. Sweet and fresh. When my dish was placed in front of me, I knew the picture didn’t do it justice. Oh my goodness this Tallarin Combination is delicious bite after bite. It was a big serving but, very tasty. I’m going back to eat there soon. Maracuya and Inca Kola drinks were great!

I decided to go for a Lomo Saltado; it was my first time at the restaurant. The restaurant is very low key, which is fine as long as the food is delicious. Service was good and I enjoyed my Inca Cola. The Lomo Saltado was OK but nothing close to what a PERUVIAN Lomo Saltado should be.

I ordered it to go. The traditional Peruvian dish Lomo Saltado! Nice, hot and steamy when I got home to eat it. Really recommend it if you are trying to get out of your ordinary Tacos Gavilán, Gallo Giro, or McDs. Never thought it would be located in South Gate. Definitely would go again.

loved the staff and their restaurant. Bit difficult to find on your first trip, but just go into the small plaza you’ll see across the church. I’d recommend their ceviche, chaufa, and all their desserts(picarones and lucuma ice cream)

Really good food, we wanted to try something new me and my wife and we found this place on Unilocal and we decided to give it a try and we did when we or we were still thinking if we did a good choice or not but it turn out really good and they don’t make you wait for your food.

Had the half chicken with fries and salad. The fries were great, fresh and hand-cut. The chicken was just ok. Oven roasted, not enough seasoning. The aji sauce was a bit bland. I doubt I’ll have it again. Nothing compares to Pollos ala Brasa on Western. It’s hard to beat that wood roasted pollo.

Even if it is not that fancy looking, Los Andes Resturaunt had the best Peruvian dishes that most Peruvian Resturaunt wouldn’t have. Also the breakfast is AMAZING !! It’s the best !

Wow, i didnt like this place at all! and i really wanted to, its conveniently located near my kids school. I had been eye balling it for weeks, maybe even months. When you walk in the place is super cute but the food, i did not like it at all. The only thing that was really tasty was the ahi sauce. Here is a breakdown of our order. Pollo a la brasa. Some parts of it were so overcooked it was not even chewable. The only parts that were edible were the breast and thigh. it was way overcooked as if it had been roasting for many many hours. The worst french fries ever, they were sooo gross. omg they were greasy, soooo greasy, and slimy and wobbly and just wow horrific. there was a side salad which was okay nothing wrong with it but the ranch tasted like mayonnaise. very bad We also got lomo saltado, wow same greasy limp gross fries, meat was chewy and not at all tender. the rice was good, but its plain white rice. everything was bad. i wish it was good. i really wanted to find a peruvian place this close to home. my hunt continues

We’ve been going to Los Andes for a couple of years and I can honestly say that it was a pleasant surprise to find such a good tasting food in the middle of South Gate. You don’t expect a peruvian joint this where it is mostly a densely mexican population. I’ve been to Picca and and Balcones del Peru, Balcones is the best peruvian restaurant on the land but Los Andes is up there in my opinion. Dont mind the décor, go for the food! I know it is a trek from the westside but worth it if you are nearby! We love the ceviches, the leche de tigre, the picante de mariscos, the chaufa especial and their jalea. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I can’t wait to go again!

About 10 yrs ago I was introduced to Peruvian food by my sister-in-law and I immediately fell in love with it’s flavor. I’ve tried several places and it has come down to this spot. It’s not a big fancy place, it’s actually quite the opposite, and their décor… well let’s just say that it needs a make over. Anyhow, that should not stop you from giving them a try. The workers are very friendly and their food is delicious. I strongly recommend the following: As the main dish: Lomo Saltado(Strips of sirloin marinated in vinegar, soy sauce and spices, then stir fried with red onions, parsley, tomatoes, and french fries. It is served with a side of white rice) Tallarin Verde con bistec frito(Peruvian Pesto Spaghetti with Pan-Fried Skirt Steak) Tallarin de Mariscos(Spaghetti with Seafood Mixed with tomato, onion & soy sauce) Oh, and their specialty is the rotisserie chicken, comes with a side of white rice, fries or salad. Appetizer: Ceviche Mixto(dish made of seafood«cooked» in acidic juices of lemons limes. It contains chopped shrimp, chopped squid, chopped scallops, chopped fish fillets, hot peppers, onions, parlsey for garnish. Once everything cooks with the juices, they place it on a large plate above lettuce leaves with a side of sweet potatoes) Papa a la Huancaina: Peruvian salad of boiled yellow potatoes(similar to the Yukon Gold potatoes) in a spicy, creamy sauce called Huancaína sauce. Choros/Mussels Peruvian Style(They are boiled mussels served with onion, red hot pepper, tomato, parsley, corn, ají, oil, key lime juice, salt and pepper… after these ingredients have been sitting in lemon for about 15mins) Leche de Tigre:(It’s pretty much the same as preparing a ceviche(lime juice, sliced onion, chiles, salt, and pepper mixed with fish) but they also add a bit of fish juice)… FYI– it is said it’s extremely good for curing hangover After describing all these delicious dishes, I can’t help but to want a plate.
