STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. I paid for a one-​nights stay for my sister-​in-​law in October who lived 2 hours away. When she entered her assigned room it was FILTHY. A yellow stain on the comforter; trash can that was not emptied, and a stain on the floor by the bed. She took photos of the unacceptable conditions. I contacted the General Manager complaining of these conditions with PHOTOS asking for a full refund. She never called or emailed me back. Evidently these conditions must be common and acceptable to her hotel. I could see if I paid $ 40.00 per night but the room charge with taxes was $ 153.89 !!! I would give this NO STARS if I had the option. The Health Department needs to make a surprise inspection. STAY AWAY!

I came to South Gate for a sports event. I needed a quick and affordable venue to stay at for one night. Fortunately I decided to check the room around for safety purposes, and found two syringes under the matress, wow, very dangerous and disgusting! Please avoid this place! I do not recommend it to anyone.

It simply does not get any worse. I should have been forewarned when I saw a sign at the check-​in window saying, «No refunds.» To even try to fully describe the filth, both with regard to the hotel itself, as well as a substantive portion of the tenants, would be impossible. For example, it is currently approaching midnight and there are five young children in the parking lot playing unsupervised. Next to them is an old VW Bus, not associated with the children, whose owners are currently tending to their pit bull. After I checked in, several residents exited a room and starting walking toward the street, saying something they wanted me to hear about «Crack.» The rooms are beyond filthy. Furthermore, the outside walkways smell like urine. And when someone next to me uses the bathroom it makes a terrible sound. I only stayed here because I got into town late, it is the last week in July, and, literally, almost every hotel room in the entire city of Los Angeles is taken, or wants amounts in excess of $ 300. Still, in the future, it would be better to cancel your vacation than stay here. That is how bad this place is.

This is truly a 2 star hotel. The area is ok, not too bad. From outside it looks nice. My favorite thing about this place is the pool. For $ 75 king size bed (not bad price) the girl in the front waved the $ 5 deposit on the key (I promised I would bring it back) without me even asking her which was really nice. So as you can see those are the pros of this place. Cons are dirty (probably dirtiest carpets I’ve EVER stepped on) carpets (fellow Unilocalers you weren’t lieing about this place) my kids feet were black after 5 minutes of no shoes. No mini fridge or microwave what a shame. Like I said it’s a 2star hotel if you are looking for something nicer your gonna have to spend the extra dough. To be honest it’s not that bad if you overlook the carpets and no mini fridge or microwave issue. I am holding to find out the roach issue isn’t that bad (I did see roach bait hidden behind the bed so that shows they are aware and taking care of it).

I came here with my family when their was a problem with my home. We stayed here for two nights. I loved that they accepted pets (we had a cat and a dog). The outside looks clean and it even has a pool. The area isn’t terrible and it was right around the corner of a new shopping center. My sister and I called a week before asking if we can get early check in because we had pets that couldn’t be out for too long. They guy said yes and he made a note of it. We get there on the day and of course, they had no idea what we were talking about. That was our first problem. We eventually got a room and paid. It was super affordable BUT the room was disguising! I had sandals on and I took them off for 2 minutes and they were black! I’m not exaggerating here, they were literally black. The rugs were disgusting and it smelled like smoke (it was a non smoking room?) my parents room was nicer then ours and they were a room away. Overall, they get one star because it’s in filthy condition and because the lady in front was unprofessional. Also, the boy working there was dumb as well. We had called to ask about the early check in and he was the one that answered us. Why he wasn’t able to own up to his mistake is beyond me.
The ladies cleaning room were really nice thou! They were attentive and sweet :) huge plus for them!

This place doesn’t even deserve one star. This is by far the worst experience I have ever had. This place was disgusting and filled with roaches. The staff is very unprofessional and has no sense of customer service.

I’ve stayed at the rodeway inn (choice hotels) 3 times now and each time seemed to be worse than the last. Clearly no monitoring of smokers so they use extra fabreeze type stuff to mask it. The rooms aren’t special w/​old tv’s. Sketchy area. Towels have been damp every time. Oh then there’s the roaches I’ve seen on 2 different stays :) classy place. Recommend going somewhere else.
